If the Roman Catholic Church understands the original sin and the depravity of man ….?

Why in the world are put to a dependent, label it as "foolproof"? Support church hierarchy, because it is biblically based. All churches need hierarchy. But heresy was stamped "Thus sayeth the Pope and Catholics accept this! Praying to Mary as Redemtrix and the intercession of the saints is blatant idolatry. The OT and NT are so clear on this point. All I can say is, "Why, why, why?"

  1. Airborne says:

None of the major traditions and doctrines of the Catholic Church teaches, advocates, practices, or hosted by the Apostolic Church. For example, the Catholic doctrine of prayers for the dead originated around 300 AD, the veneration of angels and dead saints (375 AD), the exaltation of Mary and the use of the term "Mother of God" (431 AD), the doctrine of Purgatory, established by Gregory I (593 AD), the title of "Papa" (first to Boniface III in 607 AD), holy water blessed by a priest (850 AD), canonization dead saints (created by Pope John XV in 995 AD), used in the prayer of the Rosary (1090 AD), the sale of indulgences (1190 AD) transubstantiation (first proclaimed by Pope Innocent III in 1215 AD), Headset (private) confession of sins to a priest (instituted by Pope Innocent III in Lateran Council in 1215 AD), the doctrine of the seven sacraments (1439 AD), the Hail Mary (1508 AD), which declared tradition of equal authority with the Bible (Council of Trent 1545 AD), the apocryphal books added to the Bible by the Council of Trent (1546 AD) Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary (proclaimed by Pope Pius IX in 1854 AD ), the infallibility of the Pope in matters of faith and morals (proclaimed by the Vatican in 1870 AD). Many other traditions of men could be added to this list that are not rooted in Scripture.
When one carefully compares the major teachings of the Roman Catholic Church with the Bible is clear that this is a religious system with many men did the practices and teachings which often contradict the clear truths in the Word of God.

2 Maccabees is not inspired Scripture, in fact, none of the Apocrypha is, even the Catholic Church coincides with that

We do not believe that the Pope was infallible. It is only when we talk about issues of faith that is said to be so. There are only two infallible statements ever made. It seems as if you do not understand what the term as the Pope.
We do not believe that the saints are dead - we believe in the communion of saints. We ask Mary, pray for us, as we call our family.
      It is not idolatry.

  6. AMDG CB says:

Mary is not a redemptrix is co-redemptrix (with direction), due to have Jesus
to pray with her, or any of the saints. How is that idolatry?
People challenge the Catholic practice of asking the saints and angels to pray for us. But the Bible directs us to invoke in the sky and ask them to pray with us.
Thus, in Psalm 103 we pray, "Bless the Lord, oh to his angels, that the powerful make his word, hearkening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will "(Psalm 103:20-21). And in Psalm 148 that read, "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord of the heavens, praise him in the highest! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, his welcome to all "(Psalm 148:1-2)
Not only those in heaven pray with us, but also pray for us. In Revelation, John sees that "the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each with a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of saints" (Rev. 5:8). Thus the saints in heaven offer to God the prayers of the saints on earth.
Angels do the same thing: "[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer, and was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all saints to the altar gold before the throne and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God "(Rev. 8:3-4).
Jesus himself warned us not to play with young children because their guardian angels have guaranteed access to the intercession of the Father: "See that no one of these, to tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. "(Matthew 18:10).
Because he is the only God-man, Jesus is the only Mediator between man and God (1 Tim. 2:5), but this in no way means you can not and should not ask our fellow Christians to pray with us and by us (1 Tim. 2:1-4), including Christians in heaven, who have already completed their sanctification, of "[t] he prayer of a man just has a great power in its effects" ( Jas. 5:16).

Try to read what the Church says about the Church, a Catholic or what he has to say - instead of what an anti-Catholic pastor / person / organization has to say.

AirborneSaint - their response is so far. find a Catholic doctrine that has no basis in Scripture or in Sacred Tradition.
Prayers for the dead. . . 300 AD (AD, which should read 300 if you're really interested) is just stupid. Read the Bible 2 Maccabees - 12:45, Judas sends a collection for the temple of the fallen in battle, which is in with amulets, which could be freed from this sin. "Make a research before answering.
Or is that Catholics do not know your Bible?
I want to correct the rest of their lack of information, but I do not have that kind of time now.

      + Sources of Doctrine
      + + The Pope
We have not put a person in charge. Jesus Christ did.
      John 21:15-17 says:
When we had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said, "Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love you." He told him: Feed my lambs. "
He then told a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said, "Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love you." He said: "Tend my sheep."
He told the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed that he had told him a third time, "Do you love me?" And he said: "Lord, you know everything, you know I love you. " (Jesus) said, "Feed my sheep.
      Matthew 16:17-19 says:
Jesus said in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. What bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. "
The Catholic Church believes the Lord made Simon alone, whom he called Peter, the rock of his Church. He gave the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole herd.
The Pope is the senior pastor of 1.1 billion Catholics, the direct successor of Simon Peter.
The Pope of the primary functions are teaching, sanctifying and governing.http: / / http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1s
      Papal infallibility + +
The concept of papal infallibility comes from Jesus' words to Peter (the first Pope) and the apostles (the first bishops), which bind on earth shall be bound in heaven "(Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16).
The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible in very specific occasions.
The Pope is infallible only when, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that doctrine as a truth.
In other cases, the Pope can be just as bad or sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness.http: / / http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1s … and http://www.catholic.com / library / Papal_In …
      Santos + +
Before Jesus Christ died for our sins and opened the gates of heaven there are no saints in heaven. Therefore, there is no written mention of the Old Testament.
Very few of the new Christians died before most of the New Testament was written. Therefore there is little in the Bible about asking saints to pray for us.
However, the last book of the Bible does not speak of the saints in heaven praying.
Revelation 5:8: Each of the elders held a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
Revelation 8:3-4: He was given a large quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. The smoke of incense with the prayers of the saints ascended before God from the angel's hand.
The Holy Spirit guided the early Church in many things not explained in the Bible including the manner in which the Body of Christ (believers) living on Earth relate to the Body of Christ (saints) living in the sky . We are still one Body.
We share the view of Catholics in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II.
As part of this family, you can ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or, you can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
And the prayer of the saints is not optional required.http: / / http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1s
+ + The Blessed Virgin Mary
"Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee" (Luke 1:28)
      "Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb "(Luke 1:42).
In Luke 1:48, Mary prophesied, "From now on all generations will call me blessed."
A question for Christians who take the Bible literally: Do you call Mary "blessed"? If not, why?
The Hail Mary prayer simply recites passages from the Bible (the Word of God) and asks Mary to pray for us:
Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. (These are the words that the angel Gabriel said to Mary, a Bible quote.)
Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. (This is Mary's cousin Elizabeth's greeting, another biblical quotation.)
Santa Maria, (The angel Gabriel said he was full of grace and Elizabeth says he was blessed.)
Mother of God (the Bible says that Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God)
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. (A simple request to pray for us.)
      Amen.
The suggestion of Mary as co-redemptrix is not Catholic doctrine.http: / / http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt4s
Sources of the Doctrine + +
Therefore, brethren, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions you were taught, either through an oral statement or a letter of ours. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)
The Catholic Church does not use Scripture as the only basis of doctrine. I could not. The early Catholic church existed before and during the time the New Testament was written (by Catholics).
There were hundreds of Christian writings during the first and second centuries. New Testament writings would become official was not fully decided until about 400 AD.
Catholics believe the Holy Spirit was guiding the early church (and is now rector of the church) to make the correct choice on things like:
+ The Holy Trinity (which is only hinted at in the Bible)
+ Go to church on Sunday instead of Saturday (which is actually directly against one of the Ten Commandments)
      + Communion of Saints
+ What are written in the New Testament?
Things that are even more modern and
+ Slavery is bad. Slavery is never declared evil in the Bible. This was one of the justifications for slavery in the Confederate States.
+ Democracy is good. The Bible says that God must either be the leader of the nation like Israel before the kings or kings should be the leader, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's." This has been much talk during the American Revolution.
This second source of doctrine is called Apostolic Tradition.
Christians do not allow the continuing guiding force of the Holy Spirit to make their beliefs more and more perfect, still approve of slavery as Colossians 3:22 commands, "Slaves, obey your human masters in everything"?
We instruct you, brothers, on behalf of (our) Lord Jesus Christ, to avoid any brother that takes place in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us. (2 Thessalonians 3:6)
I praise you because they remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them to you. (1 Corinthians 11:2) http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1s

  11. Malcolm Knoxville VI says:

AND YES, DO SERIOUS IMAGES worship.

  12. cynical says:

I agree and I am Catholic. I agree with the actual presence and many of the doctrines of the Church, but this is where we draw the line. The Pope should not have sole authority over 1.1 million people, is not fair! I know it is because of the succession of Peter that Christ gave the keys to his church as stated in Matthew's Gospel and the book of John. However, the myth that man must have a complete mastery over the whole church is like a dictatorship. There is nothing wrong with the prayer to Mary and the saints, asking the intercession is not idolatry. I agree with the Pope issue.

  13. rudesterr cockburn says:

You can have a relationship with God directly. Do not feel you need a church or a priest as intermediary.
Jesus was teaching people all they have to do is believe in him. The church was angry because Jesus cut them out. Now you're confused by the church. Go to the source. 3:16

  14. kotes19 says:

Wait, wait, wait. Pump brakes here. We will answer these in a while and SLOWL Y. Take a deep breath, my Protestant brother.
      Peace be with you.
First: You, like many others, is completely wrong for the Church and its teaching on infallibility. " Infallibility is a term used for "office" as any teachings on faith and morals that come from the Pope are infallible. Check the 2000 years of Church teachings on faith and morals, has never been a renegged.
Papa Do not read this means = person without sin. Wrong.
The Pope goes to confession more often than anyone else and he does not call himself without sin. Santo, yes, as all who are called to be (sanctified and set apart for holy use by God =). Sinless, no.
Secondly, once again, their arguments are typical Protestant friends who give me regarding Mary and the Pope. Obviously you are not even aware of all the teachings of the RCC have nothing to do with Mary or intercessory prayer to name a few. Have you ever cracked a Cathechism? I mean the lack of respect, but not to their questions and their implications harry not take anything, but some remote caricature of what they think the Church teaches.
Let the intercessory prayers of the saints is not "prayer for the dead." Without going into the catechism, try to think of this: the saints are not "dead", to be alive with Christ in His eternal glory, having been refined and made to be holy in his presence. Prayer to the saints no "remove" something Jesus glory. He diminsh not, in fact, express his love.
God is a "family man". He chose Mary as the Ark of the New Alliance. Have you considered the parallels in the scriptures of the Old Testament Ark of the coverage that NT and David took the Ark of Mary?
God, being holy, do not use a ship ~ unholy principle could not use anything evil or die. Remember that anyone who touches the chest as he died, because God does not mean, but because He is the Most Holy of Saints. Nothing 'dirty' or he can feel the man that prepares you for less.
Please, there is much that could be explained in relation to their questions. But for times, please visit online at a catechism and read and learn the truth of what the RCC teaches. I believe it will come out with the answers you seek.
      —————-
We know that once all the saints that God makes us saints. If you know so much about the RCC, you know that we call the body of Christ "saints" is a generic term for a believer to live a godly life.
His comments have no meaning with due respect.
And I will pray for their hostility to be replaced by the peace of God.

  15. coco_loc says:

If one person is responsible, in any organization, then that would make the leader a dictator, the Pope is not. In any organization, to maintain a certain order, a hierarchy is needed [in any system].
The Pope is not infallible as labeled, it is, however, seen as the successor of Saint Peter. Peter, himself, denied Christ three times before the cock crowed. And yet Jesus loved him and still loves him. Pope's life in addition to 3 / 4 of his life serving the Lord, it is also human, as Christ has. [Remember Jesus act again: the sellers in the temple?]
Papal infallibility is a doctrine, [belief, as a law, ie the state of emergency] in which the pope can use when / during the testimony of the teaching of faith / morals to the new church. The Pope has not used this power since 1950.
When we pray to Mother Mary and the saints is through the intercession and not feel like God, or even equal to God. We believe that as someone close to God through the exemplary life he lived and how they have spread the word of God while they were alive. [Remember when Jesus was on the cross, he said, "Woman, behold your son, Son behold thy mother."] Even Jesus gave us His mother, we're going to deny that gift?
Do not pretend to be an expert, but this is what I know from my faith, I am still and raised a Catholic. I am a Christian.
