Protestant or Catholic What is the difference?

I am a Protestant, but I was raised Catholic. I think I'm saved by grace and not works. In fact, so much so I've decided to dedicate my life to serving the body of Christ. We are all part of a body, no matter what we name, provided that both believe the same gospel. Protestants, Catholics are taught grace, just in different ways. Catholics, Protestants who believe the same thing you do, most of us simply do not know. What are your thoughts on this? Both sides? Please do not rant and if you are not Protestant or Catholic, please do not waste my time answering this question. And by the way Christ calls us to love others, not judging, I do not even question this way to keep in mind.

I have to go back to what the Archbishop Sheen maintained: that people hate what they think the Catholic Church stands for. They're getting their information second hand, and come with preconceived ideas, and guns blazing.
And I think to get right on the head with his comment, "… I think what it does, most of us simply do not know. "
I found a trend of Protestant resistance to authority, but that is not only to the Pope, is to their own pastors. Even as a Protestant lifetime, I was amazed that a church would have the temerity to look at the authority over his own Pastor.
It reminds me of Will Rogers describes a horse that is bucking that both reached one of its hooves caught in a stirrup. Cowboy observed, "Look, if you want me to go down."

  2. David says:

But is not the same gospel.
Catholicism is not Christian. Catholicism teaches a false gospel of works can not save (Gal. 1:6-9).
Catholicism teaches works salvation. It is not the same Gospel, which is why the catholic can not be anyone in heaven. Catholicism denies the free gift of salvation in Jesus.

  3. Sam C says:

Catholics worship mary and use priests to mediate between God and man. But Jesus called our High Priest in the Bible, 1 Timothy 2:5 says that Jesus is our mediator now. Our doctrine is based on the same basic truths that Jesus Christ came to die for our sins.

One holy catholic and apostolic Church!

Catholics and Protestants believe different things.
You are naive if they are not aware of this.
I have a 5 page word document that is too long to copy and paste here, but I will send to you or anyone else who asks me a copy.
All you need is your regular email address.
This 5 page word document compares the difference between the Bible and the Catholic Catechism.
