This is a 2-part question. I will keep the first part - and I think we do not have all the answers - just a lot of "what the Federation …" It seems funny that people who know nothing about on molecular / cellular biology are absolutely convinced Mary * has * to have sex, or somehow had vulvar human exposure to some pre-***. Not necessarily. In fact, it is very unlikely * but totally biologically / medically possible for the historical Jesus of Nazareth was the product of a "virgin birth." Any responsible scientist admitted over the world * not * know that we know. So here we go … Be forewarned, if you can not wrap your mind around transgender issues, do not read … First, know that there is a difference between the genotype (our genetic code) and "phenotype" (how the code is expressed / played out). At some point in each of our embryogenesis, each of us bipotential gonads develop that over time, either in differentiating testes (46, XY) or ovaries (46, xx). Mary - immaculately conceived by her mother through the Grace of God, and free of original sin - could have been 46, XX (phenotypically and genotypically "female"), with gonadal mosaicism * (gonads are testes hand, Part ovaries). We see it - granted, very rarely - in the real world today. If a true hermaphrodite, which were examined and self-identified as women. Then, it is theoretically possible that she could have had a fusion of neighboring 23, XY and 23, XX germ cells in order to make a 46, XY genetic male (Jesus), or have been subjected to parthenogenesis, the method of asexual reproduction seen in other species in the world today. If this were the case, then it may have been able to impregnate by Joseph. Another option is that Mary is a 46, XY with testosterone and a lack of sensitivity (which looks and self-identify as women) and have the persistent müllerian duct syndrome - just enough to carry a pregnancy after undergoing parthenogenesis . If the latter were the case, she could not have been fertilized by Joseph, and Jesus "brothers" may have been more likely their cousins.
Regardless, I think it is perfectly possible that the historical Jesus of Nazareth was 100% genotipically of the Virgin Mary, and 100% spiritual King David and the Hebrew God, the Blessed and Glorious YHWH.

Its been several hours since you posted this, so I'm sure by now someone has mentioned that the New Testament was written in Greek. The word for brother, Adelphe, has its roots in the sense of the same matrix. When used in a spiritual sense, or to show a mutual link, you can tell by the context. Some people suggest that the brothers and sisters of Jesus mentioned in the Bible, were actually cousins, but it is a Greek word for cousins, anepsios.
Matthew 1:25 Jesus calls uion prototokon first born. If he was the only child born of Mary, who could have been written uion monogenic.
In John 19, Jesus tells the disciple whom he loved about Mary, saying that led to his own from that time. The word home, in your own home is because it is not in italics in the text. Could mean in their own family or care, or the heart?
John, the apostle whom Jesus loved, was of Galilee and the crucifixion took place in Jerusalem.
Forty days later, in the upper room in Acts 1 Mary is said to be there with Jesus' brothers, so it seems that the disciple and his care was not necessary.

It is very evident in the word of God that Jesus had brothers after he was born. Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived, however, not being that way after he was born.

From a secular / historical point of view, is always destined to be a mystery. The historian can make assumptions about a typical family in that region and time, but it is not surprising that there is little reliable information on this concrete, the twenty-first century Nazarene peasant and her husband.
If we accept the premise, as Christians, that Jesus was born of a virgin (why not - it's Christmas!) O no, I do not think the debate in which Mary and Joseph had typical normal marriage after Jesus. I do not think devout Christians or not Christians have a particular interest either way in establishing whether or not Mary and Joseph have sex and take other children.
If there is an uneasiness over the idea that Catholic Mary never * throw its virgin state, I sympathize, but can not affect or support the theory.

Wow that was long.
Mary was a virgin when Christ was born. Maria de Jesus was a mortal body, his father's God, Jesus received the power over death. If it were not so Christ could not have overcome the death and no one could be saved.
After the birth of Christ, but not biblicaly registered, there is a tradition that Christ was a brother of Mary and Joseph through one of which was the same James who wrote the biblical book of the same name. I do not see anything wrong with the idea of the doctrine of Christ having siblings.

I am an atheist, and I agree for the most part. However, I think it is important to remember that the virgins get pregnant all the time, even today. Which has no penetration to achieve fertilization. Before ejaculation could easily have been in question, or any kind of sex that matter, whether any amount of his semen vulva touched at a given time, a pregnancy is possible (granted, the chances are remote, but it is not unknown). This would explain the seeming shock Joseph, as it almost did not understand biology as well as we understand it today. A virgin birth is far from divine.

There are references to Jesus having brothers in the gospel. I'm Baptist and I know that my church teaches that she was a virgin, but she had a husband and that she had needs. Sex is not a sin so why not have it. Children are a big part of marriage at that time because Jesus was not the son of Joseph, it would be like a failed marriage.

A time to read, but if Mary had other children. Mary was a virgin when Jesus was born, but later she was not. The Bible says that Jesus had brothers.
