What is the difference between a Christian and a Catholic?
I am confused SSO. this lady of a Christian church said to me that only Christians and not believe in Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary that Catholics believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. and that Catholics have to tell the father of the church of their sins so that you can tell Jesus. But Christians can pray for themselves ?????
I believe in God, Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit. i also prefer to pray to the Lord to forgive me my sins. what I do?
thanks !!!!!!!
- What is the difference between Catholics and Christians?
- Do you think the Catholic Education of going to confession is Biblical?
- Vs. Christian. Catholics: Why is a Christian life of God that Catholics???
- What is the difference between the three main branches of Christianity?
- What is the difference between Catholics and Protestants?

Catholics are Christians, but differ in the fact that Catholics pray to saints and the Virgin Mary. There are a lot of different rituals, too. If you have not batpized in the Catholic church, and gone through the confirmation, you are not Catholic. you are a Christian .. some kind of Protestant (not being a Catholic Christian). depends on what you identify with the Church. you could be Luthern, Baptist … etc
Christians believe in Jesus, God the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, but Christians do not worship or pray to Mary (I think that Catholics are not sure). Christians pray to God and ask forgiveness for their sins. God hears our prayers, not only when we ask forgiveness.
Catholics (brothers and sisters:)) are Christians.
portestant greatly. Catholics are just a tradition and a canon of great books in the Bible. We believe the same things but some theological different.
Here is the key to saving a relationship with God:
Talk to him directly through His Son Jesus Christ and with the help of the Holy Spirit.
You do not need dead saints or Mary to pray for you. They will hear their prayers and that he could help, even if they could.
Mary was a sinner who needs salvation, like you and me.
Confess your sins to God - NO MAN ever need to hear their sins.
Pray to God properly YOU LIVE IN YOUR PRESENCE!
THATS how you want!
Catholics are the original Christians - who meet in the New Testament and Christianity began - 1, in fact, Christians are Catholics IN3 - a course that organized religion has its flaws - but so do thousands of other Christian tribes.
isn't too praing Holy Mary or any other type of prayer as a false idol? im not religious, but shouldn't send direct all prayers also the great man?
The difference between a "tree" and an "oak." Catholicism is only one sect (denomination) of Christianity.
Christianity is the religion that focuses on Jesus and the Gospels. That is all that separates it from all other religions of the world. Of course, so many groups of people have different ideas on how best to go for it. So Christianity has many sects: the Protestants, Presbyterians, Methodists, leaders, Quakers, Episcopalians, Southern Baptist, a traditional Baptist, 7th Day adventurous, Calvinists, the Jesuits, and many others, including many Catholics.
Of course, Christians have a natural tendency of his own section, making it difficult to get an objective answer on issues like this.
SON Chrisitians Catholics.
Catholic means universal.
Catholics are the descendants of the original Christians.
San Pedro was the first Pope.
They believe that Mary was the Immaculate Conception, and was born without sin. also believed to have been assumed by God in heaven and never died.
They have 7 sacrements includding the act of reconcilliation / confession.
Every second of the Catholic mass is choreography. Most other Christian services are not as rigidly ordered. Catholicism seems to give an excessive veneration of Mary. Other Christian denominations do not tend to venerate such a degree.
Read the 95 theses of Martin Luther. You can easily google and the list of proposals which highlight the difference between them.
I hope not to have problems posting here. It is the first in the search I did myself.http: / / http://www.iclnet.org / pub / resources / text …
Christians believe God's Word regarding the need for "born again." Catholics seem to ignore that a necessary part of being a Christian. Without him, it's just a Christian in name only!
She is right. But although I am a Catholic does not mean he can not confess to the Lord if not directly to me what we call a confession. It's just that my faith believes that it is better to do so, but sometimes before bed I confess some of my sins from that day the Lord saying my prayers at night.
Confessional, and Catholics have mass.
Christian is to all who believe in Christ or Jesus, is a Catholic Christian denomination od as Baptist and Orthodox. Catholics have a pope who is now a Christian, and Catholics also have some names, such as wines Jahova and im not prsitive about this, but I think dei OPU is also part of the Catholic Church. oh Christians believe in alcohol, and Trinity and to Catholics, but Catholics are the only ones who believe in the virgin Mary, but his name can be one that believes in Mary as a virgin. Confession is a personal thing, Catholics do talk to a priest, but it doesn't matter, you can choose whether or not we want u. but ur talking about this lady, she really doesn't know what shes talking about, Christian is a very broad thing, Catholics are in Christianity. ur Catholic by the way, so unless it sounds, so you are a Catholic, but Catholics are Christians so ur Catholic and Christian
That all Catholics are Christians …… "We follow the teachings of Christ"
We believe that going to confession because the Bible says
James 5:16 "Therefore confess your sins to one another that can be healed"
When we go to a priest who not only represents God in the confession that he also represents the body of the church which is part of the body of Christ. When we sin because an open wound. Would you like to stand in front of the church and confess their sins at all?
We're going to get the confession that "grace" (Spiritual gifts) of God and actually know that they are healed by his stripes he suffered on the cross. It is not something we like to do but it is something we should do.
When we go to confession we are given a clean slate that can be a tabernacle for the body and blood of Jesus we will receive no default each time you go to church
Remember the saints of our friends who are people who have preceded us. The Virgin Mary is not only the Mother of Jesus is also a saint. Pray with them, is like asking a friend to pray that God / Jesus / Holy Spirit as well.
Remember that there is no time in the Bible when Jesus told Mary to do something but did not. The wedding at Cana is a good example.
May I also suggest a book called Catholic Answers to Fundalmenlist (Amazon.com used are very cheap)
Just remember that the Protestant churches (not Catholic) do not possess the true Body and Blood of Chirst. Carrying out the communion as a "symbol" of what actually happened on the night of Holy Thursday. We sacrifice time and again each time you go to church
I will pray for you and pray that the Holy Spirit will lead you to understand. Remember to stand strong in their faith … for there is only one God, one church and one truth ….
Well ladies, I'm not one for spiritual counseling, but you need to know if you are Catholic … who have been baptized, confessed, first holy communion and confirmation …. indoctrination is invovled so that you know you are Catholic.
When you say you believe in the Virgin Mary, or "Holy Trinity", which just doesn't make you Catholic. To learn more you can always talk to your Catholic priest.
I will respond if I can answer. What is the difference between a car and a Chevrolet?
It is never a good idea to accept the definition of someone who is against the Catholic Church, if you want to know about them. Some are distorting their actual beliefs. Catholics are not supposed to worship Mary. Those who do are confused, and should consult with your pastor.
technique of the same religion
"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)
Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
Only by grace, faith in Christ in the saving work and not for any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works . http:/ / http://www. vatican.va / roman_curia / pontificated …
There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, in my opinion, it does not matter much.
A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of his Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.
Includes Catholism Christianity and Protestantism. Catholics and Protestants are Christians. It is a common error that Catholics are not Christians.
Many people believe that Catholics are not Christians. Many of them are Protestant or another Christian denomination other than Catholic.
I believe in the virgin Mary, but praying with her. I think she is a great woman and better than I will ever be. She deserves respect and honor. But she does not deserve my prayers. Many Catholics pray to the Virgin Mary, who also used her rosary to pray for the people of hell. I do not believe in saints and all that. Also, do not believe in the idea of what the Pope is, I think it is human just like me. Also, the Vatican is one of the richest cities in the world, there are still thousands of poor Catholic children who are forced to flee their homes every year because their family can not afford to take care of them. This is due to rule no contraceptives. These children could be helped if the Pope wanted to help, but he sits on his lily white ass and read, but does not move to action. This kind of thing frustrating Christians of other denominations who believe in action and prayer.
But I think that Catholics are Christians. I think there is much that Catholics are among the non-believers than any other Christian religion, too. Many people who are now atheists claim to have been raised Catholic.
Another problem I have with Catholicism is that it seems no place for God, after all the rules and regulations of the church service, but the life it seems that the most of the rules of worship to God.
In this day and age, much emphasis is placed on religion and Christianity in particular. It seems that neither those who believe it is something that has not been followed, or those who believe something that is strictly followed to the letter. I do not think you should worry too much about what "is" - you believe in God and Jesus, that's enough to qualify as spiritual, which is the most important thing for me.
Personally, I was born and raised as a Catholic, I believe in the Holy Trinity and the Virgin Mary Mother of God, I have statues of saints in my church, and taught me to confess my sins in a confessional booth closed my priest before to do my penance. The last thing I have not done in many years - I pray to God in my own place of forgiveness, as you do.
However, Catholicism is just one of several divisions of Christendom, the others are Protestantism and Eastern Orthodoxy, including new divisions, such as Lutherans, Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, Church of England, and Nazarenes, as well as some others.
Each section has its own belief system (otherwise, why have so many different branches of a religion?) But regardless of which of these is a person, all Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament, New Testament and see the recording of the Gospel which was revealed by Jesus. Also all Christians believe in certain key areas, including:
1) Jesus Christ:
This is self explanatory. All Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
2) The Death and Resurrection of Jesus:
Christians believe the resurrection of Jesus to be the cornerstone of their faith and the most important event in human history.
3) Salvation:
Christians believe salvation is a gift through the unmerited grace of God and through faith in Jesus, one can be saved from sin and eternal death. The crucifixion of Jesus is explained as an atoning sacrifice, which "takes away the sin of the world." The reception of salvation is related to the justification.
4) The Trinity:
Belief in the divinity of Christ and the Holy Spirit is expressed in the doctrine of the Trinity, which describes the single Divine substance existing in three distinct and inseparable persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ, the eternal Word), and Holy Spirit. According to this doctrine, God is not divided in the sense that each person has one third of the total, but each person is considered fully God.
5) Scripture:
Christianity regards the Bible, a collection of canonical books in two parts (the Old Testament and New Testament), as authority - written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and therefore the inerrant Word of God .
6) eschaton and Afterlife:
Most Christians believe that the death of the body, the soul experiences the particular sentence and that is rewarded with eternal heaven or condemned to eternal hell. The elect are called "saints" (Latin Sanctus: "Holy") and the process of being made a saint is called sanctification. Furthermore, the last coming of Christ (the eschaton or end of time) to all who have died will be resurrected bodily from the dead for the Reckoning, which Jesus fully establish the Kingdom of God in the fulfillment of the Scriptures prophecies.
Christians are those who believe that Jesus is the son of God.
All Catholics are Christians. Christians are not necessarily Catholics.
Does that help?
You are a Christian.
Christ said: "Call no one on earth your father" in the sense of a spiritual way, but the Catholics call their priests "father" on a daily basis. In addition, the cult of Mary thing? That must be stopped. Mary was a woman and is not "co-redeemer" with Christ. That is just pure BS manmade. There is no need to pray always in agreement under the auspices of the Catholic Church.
Go for a walk and pray.
Please understand that you are saying poeple have their own agenda.
Use your own mind and thoughts, and look of the evidence (or lack thereof).
there is no logical reason to believe that there is a god or an almighty being.
OK, life is what it seems. It begins, ends, no more no less.
All Catholics are Christians.
not all Christians are Catholics.
Catholics have a much more ritual of worship that could be of great agitation, or very boring depending on your perspective.
Catholics also practice some forms of worship (reverence for Mary and the saints) that a large number of Protestant tandamount a cree idolotry, but most Protestant faiths have their roots in Catholicism.
I agree with super cahtolic priest simply can not speak directly to confess your sins to God directly, no one thought priests. And not have to say or what the hail was never home with the forgiveness of sins.
Jesus can forgive if you ask him to do so. No involemnet priest.
Christians started to get more of the Catholic churches
Catholics are not saved Christians. Catholicism is a cult that uses Babylonian few out of context to mislead Christian concepts. Catholics go to hell forever, unless they leave the Catholic religion.
A ticket!
