When did the Catholic Church, the Ecumenical Council Decision will cease to pray to the saints?
PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS. I've been seeing some answers deny that Catholics pray to the saints. I was raised Catholic and I know that earlier were commmon to pray to Mary. There is a pattern for the loss of things, to travel for animals (pets), so pray with the words of Peter, the first pope apostolic. The list could go on.
I want to know if by decree — - the Catholic Church comes out of prayer to the saints. Does this really happen or is it something that has "gone underground".
Do not give me the answer that you personally do not pray to saints.
That's good if you do not, however we are talking about the "organization of the church and not individuals.
- Do we need a new Ecumenical Council For The Roman Catholic Church as Vatican III to make way for the reforms?
- Protestants who think Catholics are "evil" to pray to the saints is also "bad" to pray for others? ?
- Christians pray to the saints and the Virgin Mary?
- What, pray to the saints? The Bible directs us to invoke those in heaven and ask them to pray with us.
- Catholicism: You can pray to saints and Mary?

It would be more accurate to say Catholics offer prayers of petition "to Mary and saints. The phrase "to pray", when taken disingenously implies a violation of the First Commandment.
The Church is not in any way, shape or form, he stopped the tradition of prayer to Mary and / or the saints.
. I was raised Catholic, and what worries me are the biggest hypocrites I found ALL TIME IN MY LIVE. SO needless to say I do not think anything is written in the BIBLE
To the best of my knowledge (I am a practicing Catholic) of the Church still encourages devotion to the saints. It is actually a part of the prayers during the Mass, and a number of special devotions to particular saints (St. Jude is the most obvious.)
At a time when the Church made a decree that San Cristobal was no longer considered a valid saint (the reasons that escape me), but I've never heard that in general, the Saints were out of favor.
Remember, the Church continues penalties All Saints Day as a day of obligation in November 1st, so I suppose that the saints have not been banned.
- Is Catholic —
DO Catholics pray to the saints. The church, a daily Mass, pray to the saints.
Of a treaty against Faustus by St. Augustine (Chapter 20 of Book 21), this text is the reading of the Office of the readings for the feast of Pope St. Damasus, December 11. The following text is taken from the Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers.
It is true that religious Christians pay honor to the memory of the martyrs, both to excite and to obtain a copy of their merits, and the help of their prayers. But do not build altars to any martyr, but the God of the martyrs, though the memory of the martyrs.
No bishop officiating at the altar of the holy "place of burial ever said:" We have an offering to you, O Peter! Paul O O! O O Cipriano! "The offer is made to God who gave the crown of martyrdom, while it is in memory of so crowned. The excitement heightened by the associations of the place, and love driving both those who are our examples, to the man whose help we can follow those examples. We believe that the martyrs with the same affection that we feel close to holy men of God in this life, when we know that their hearts are willing to endure the same suffering for the truth of the Gospel. There is more feeling in our devotion to the martyrs, because we know that their conflict is over and we can speak with greater confidence in praise of the winners already in heaven, of those still fighting here.
What is the proper divine worship, which the Greeks call Latvia, and for which there is no word in Latin, both in doctrine and practice, we give only to God. Belongs to this cult sacrificial offerings, as seen in the idolatry of the word, which means the supply of the worship of idols. Therefore, never offer, any offer or require the sacrifice of a martyr, or a holy spirit, or angel. Any fall in this error is instructed by the doctrine, whether in the form of correction or caution. Holy beings to them, whether angels or saints, they refuse to accept what they know to be God alone.
We see this in Paul and Barnabas, when men of Lycaonia want to slaughter them like gods, on account of the miracles you performed. They rent their robes and forbidden to people, asking them, and persuade them that they were not gods. We see it also in the angels, as we read in Revelation that an angel would not allow himself to be worshiped, and said to his servant: "I am your partner, and your brothers."

In addition, the saints are not dead. If you have died in Christ, you are very much alive and so Christ is the source of all life. When you talk about the dead and the sky, the way many Protestants talk of such things, is the description of the ancient pagan depictions of the afterlife. Or consider the dead to homes that are in darkness, blind and in darkness, the dream of the soul as some call it, which is ancient Mesopotamia, or speak of an earthly paradise, the Champs Elysees, late Greek thought Roman. None of these is what is found in Scripture or in the thoughts of the principles of Christianity.
We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses who are alive and well. The barrier has been breached death and death has lost its sting for Christ has conquered. Every time we deny that we can pray to the saints, or that are dead and blind to deny that Christ has conquered. You say that Christ is not the victory and has not destroyed the hold of the devil and death. Let me tell you, that Christ has conquered and has pulled down the wall and led his people in his father's house, where there is life.
DO Catholics pray to the saints. The prayers which the saints to pray prayers that ask them to pray to God on our behalf when we pray to God. One way you can see, is that whe we ask the saints to pray with us pray to God.
Some people only see prayer as worship. Others think that if we say that praying to the saints, then we are worshiping them. Some Catholics say they pray to saints instead of the saints to avoid this misunderstanding.
No offense, but if you were raised Catholic, you do not receive very good teaching. Just because we pray to the saints does not mean we think of them as gods. The prayers of the saints who pray are not worship or adoration.
As far as the saints are dead, you can deny that in Jesus we have eternal life? One of the beliefs we profess at every Mass is our belief in the communion of saints. This belief is that those who have died in a state of grace are still a part of the community of faith in heaven.
It is very sad that had wandered so far from the Catholic faith. Contact me if you want to discuss the Catholic faith.
the Catholic Church has never declared such a thing. We are always allowed to ask our friends in heaven (saints) to pray to God with us, we ask for your prayers and intercession as it might ask family or friends here on earth to pray for us. I mean, if you ask a mortal sinner here on earth to pray for you, why not ask someone already in the presence of God?
The bodies are dead, but not the spirit which is what leads us to God
"If you believe in me will live forever" - Jesus
"Whoever believes in me will live even though they die" - Jesus
If Christ said those who believe in Him will live forever, no doubt the Saints are not dead.
Therefore, prayer to saints does not mean talking to the dead. Unless your question the words of Christ.
Catholics pray to saints because they are alive. What happens is that the way we are living are different from those of the earth. In the sky.
Therefore, those in heaven, to communicate with them, tell us who pray to them. Praying = Communicate.
Therefore, they are the angels in heaven, so "please" to them.
Mary, the mother of Jesus is in heaven, so "please" to ask her to intercede for us.
How to pray in the sense of speaking with them, they live.
As for living on earth, we refer to them. Do not pray to them because they are not in heaven.
Next, why talk to those in the sky instead of speaking directly with God? Why is it necessary?
Good question. So, on the understanding that speaking to God alone is enough, then why is there a need to communicate with our fellow people on earth? Why not just talk to God and nobody else?
You see, not to be confused between religion and speaking (prayer) to God.
We talked about how to do things. So we have our message to get something. It is the same as praying for others who live in heaven.
For example, for us to feel understood, we speak to express ourselves in our daily lives. (for something)
I think that's why people pray to the saints.
These are my reasons why we ask the Saints as a Catholic.
well all I can say is that was raised a Catholic, my mother still asks the saints to help her .. you told me that something similar is when I ask my father here for something and not responding, said that he did not make you feel better if you ask me (the mother) can get a father to his easy-er. then i started to see the light … when Dad said he did not ask the mother, but still ask my dad because he is the one with the yes or no, but its great mom I have to step in and help out since it is closer to him ..
Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
pray for us sinners,
now and in the hour of our death.
Amen.
im Catholic and i do not really know what to think, unless (as in the church) do not worship saints …..
Which remain mostly in Mexico ..
