For centuries, the only safe haven for homosexuals was the priesthood, where no one doubts his desire not to marry and closed to other ideas, like men. The fact that homosexuality does not carry the stigma that once the priesthood is why now is having an inability to recruit enough priests to carry out the fraud that is religion.

Catholicism seems to attract or produce both homosexual men and lesbian women. I have not seen any numbers on it, but I get the impression they are higher than for the general population (although not as dramatically).
I do not see that in the Protestant faiths, however, and I'm not sure you're getting the idea.
With regard to "meet" with her, I think that Catholics are a bit worried about the problem of pedophilia.
