Why Catholics Protestants how to treat non-Christians? About what is wrong to worship the Virgin Mary and other saints?

For the millionth time, Catholics do not "worship" the Virgin or the Saints, who worship and ask for your prayers. BTW - Catholics know that following Christ and Christians. If others do not realize this, so it has no bearing on their faith. Peace.

Catholics do not worship Mary or the Saints. We pray for their intercession is different. Some Catholic and Protestant Christians do not matter for many reasons, including making the same mistake of the past. If you worship Mary would be a kind of goddess, ditto for the Saints. Catholics who make non-Christians because Christianity believes in a triune God. There are other reasons, some well-founded, and some simply ignorant. I hope that helps, God bless you.

  2. Charles L says:

i seriously do not understand why Catholics worship saints and Mary … i mean you can recognize by the way they lived their lives, but should not pray and worship themselves. You should only just pray and worship God.
Oh and you should not ask to be pope or priest (I'm not sure which one) to go to confession and forgiveness. Confess your sins to God, not a priest or a saint.

  3. ILoveGod says:

Catholics do not worship Mary. That his honor and revere.
Any Protestant who has the audacity to say that Catholics are not Christians have to study a history book that is well … an idiot or a troll. Or both. Catholics gave them all the groundwork and foundation of their own religion.

  4. Kevin S says:

The essence of being a Christian is the worship of 1 God as instructed throughout the Old and New Testamont. If you find an instruction for the worship of Mary, then I'm going to incorporate into the Christian family. Are you sure, however, the Catholic Church says that "worship" Mary?

Gn 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Gn 20:4 You do not burden yourself any image or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth, or that [is] in the water under Land:
You Gn 20:5 You shall not bow down to them nor serve them: for the Lord thy God [am] a jealous God
It seems clear enough to me.

  6. Aragorn says:

You're right. A large number of Protestants and Catholics do not treat the Christians. Bothers me when people do, but I think you hit the nail on the head with your question. You said, "What is the problem about worship Virgin Mary and other saints?"
The Bible tells us we must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind. To me that means him and worship him alone.
I have no problem with the celebration of the Virgin Mary in high esteem. I do not even have too much of a problem with the prayer to the saints. Personally, I do not do it, but I understand the reasoning behind it. But when you talk about someone other than worship of God, which is bordering on false religion or cult territory.
I do not know if you just read your question wrong, or if that is what he meant. But I know there are many Catholics who disagree with that sentiment.

At the risk of generalizing, here are some thoughts.
      1. Protestants believe one can only be saved through faith in Jesus as the redeemer of sins. Basis of this biblical faith in the writing itself, without mediation of a formal priesthood. They believe that, regardless
how to keep commandments and follow the teachings, without
acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior that God is all for nothing.
Another way of saying this is that you can not go through the motions and
to seek entry to the sky on a sunny disposition to your neighbor and charitable work. Jesus is the only true path. Period.
      2. If you know anything about Catholicism, you may already see where it goes. Catholics have a way of interpreting the priesthood
Writing in the congregation. They believe that the Pope is the successor to
the apostles and their authority is cited as the basis of the rites, traditions and dogmas that have little or no support from Scripture. Catholics believe that priests can absolve them of sin, as
Intermediaries of God in a sense. Traditionally, Catholics have put a lot of stock in the "works" doing good to humanity as a path to God.
      3. Compare the two previous theological systems. From a Protestant, Catholicism seems to be non-Christian to the extent that it implicitly
denies the centrality of Jesus as the only way to heaven, instead
the insertion of a priestly hierarchy whose authority has no biblical
Protestants who accept as true. Some Protestants have expressed the extreme view that the Church is the instrument of Satan, precisely for these reasons. They see it as a perversion of true Christianity, that far from saving souls. This certainly does not apply to most of the Protestants, however.
      4. With regard to honor Mary and the saints is the worship of anything
God is also seen as a violation of the First Commandment: I am the Lord your God and you shall have no other gods before me. (Mi
paraphrase, different translations.) Of course, depending on the denomination of Christianity you subscribe to the definition of "God" becomes difficult due to the mystery of the Trinity. Many Protestants talk
about Jesus almost to the exclusion of the Lord and the Holy Spirit, but that is another topic all together.
      5. As for my own point of view, so it's worth, I am neither Catholic nor Protestant.

  8. eric k says:

Ex 20:4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or below ground or in the waters below. Do not bow down to them or worship them, because I, the LORD your God,
Worship to something other than God, no matter what, is an idol of worship.

  9. exodust2 says:

    Oh, give me a break.
We do not worship Mary or the saints or their statues, or for that matter nebula images that may appear on French toast.
Worship God. Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Thanks for fanning the flames, as if there are not enough people around who love to say that we worship and what we believe. Sheesh.

  10. Born-Again Catholic says:

    Not all Protestants do …
Keep in mind that before generalizing.
You can worship what you want. If it works for you, who am I to judge? His belief and worship of Jesus is what defines Catholics as one of many different Christian groups. Those who forget that some are simply ignorant.

  11. Auntie Christ [stuporstar] says:

One of the main events of all conferences in the afternoon at Amathus was the session that are related to discussing the spiritual unity. James Zebedee had asked, "Master, how will we learn to see alike, and thus enjoy more harmony among ourselves?" When Jesus heard this question, which was shaken in spirit, as he replied: "James, James, when I show you that you should see all alike? I came into the world to proclaim liberty to the spiritual end that mortals may be empowered to live the life of the people of originality and freedom before God. I do not desire that social harmony and fraternal peace shall be purchased by the sacrifice of free personality and spiritual originality. This requires of you, my apostles, is spirit unity - and has experience in the joy of his dedication to the unit doing the will of my Father in heaven. You do not have to see or feel equally equally, or even think alike in order spiritually to be alike. Spiritual unity is derived from the knowledge that each of you is indwelt, and increasingly dominated by the spirit of the gift of our heavenly Father. His apostolic harmony must grow out of the fact that the spirit of hope each of you is identical in its origin, nature, and destiny.

  12. bud85348 says:

Obviously you are not Catholic, so they are also buying the silly propaganda about the semantics of worship anyone but God.
To be clear, but no one is worshiping God and heresy to be excommunicated as stated in the Bible for him.

  13. Makemeas says:

Please understand. Catholics do not worship Mary or the Saints.
      Catholics honor these good people.
We honor Mary, the Mother of God.
We honor those who lived and died in the name of Jesus, the saints.
Why do so many equate honor to worship?

  14. Catholic in the South says:

(ugh.) Being religious is good. But disapproval of different varieties of the same religion is so stupid. I do not know why people do what they do.

  22. Su says:

Is political. Catholicism is polytheistic. And about 80% of Catholics (for interview) to go to church .. oh I'm sorry 'mass' and go through the motions. It is the tradition, but do not teach * tradition. Symbolism. You know why? Because there is SYMBOLISM! All this is bullshit. And as the saints and worship of Mary (which does not remain a virgin so what the crap?) Is a bunch of garbage polytheism. I prefer not to enter the religion of more reasons, but mainly those. Most Catholics are going to talk to other people after eating donuts and pavilions. They also get horrible knees from all that kneeling!
Cradle Catholic boy! Go to church no "mass" … what ever the hell that is firing.
