Hebrews 12:1
Why ask your friends or other friends to pray for you when you need to realize the prayer (intercession) about any situation?
Are you saying that since Jesus said he only needed to go to the Father, it is wrong to ask our friends to pray for us?
Jimmy is right: this is called "communion of saints."
They believe that Mary is the mother of Jesus in heaven. However, we must understand that Mary is waiting for Christ 's return to be in heaven with Him forever. It is their belief that Mary and the saints, as they call them, they can intercede for them. We must realize that only Jesus is our Advocate, our Mediator between God and man. Also, Mary and the saints are alive in their graves.
Mary was chosen to be the mother of Jesus, of all women on earth that God is pleased with his faith and conduct (which was also on the right line of blood)
so she was chosen Mary had a good relationship with God through Jesus and his life on earth. remained loyal through the good and bad moments of his life on this earth. because she is still in favor of this day.and god because she is the mother of Jesus, who better to ask. I guess as a telephone. Mary is the telephone that put us on the right through the connection.
Saints also are in a good position to God for his faithfulness in the land until his death and we ask again to pray to God on our behalf or we pray to God I hope this answers your question and helps you understand best
Catholics have a rich tradition of intercessory prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the saints are holy people with special merit in heaven. Mary is the Queen of Heaven and Mother of the Church. Who does not want his mother and other holy people to pray for them?
Recognize that the Bible say that God is too … and may use all possible help from anyone else in the sky …
We share the view of Catholics in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II.
As part of this family, you can ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or, you can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
Ask others to pray for you if your loved ones on Earth or your loved ones in heaven is always optional.

With love in Christ.
I figure that these people might have some kind of "in" with God that his friends do not live …
* Shrugs *
I figure that after all that God made himself directly to me, is kind of a waste of time speaking with "Junior" … Why not go straight to the top? Let others seek the brothers to go to the Father … I'm going to curl up in my dad's lap, and talk about things with him personally.
Constantine felt that the Roman Empire is so vast, extensive and diverse - not everyone will agree to renounce their religious beliefs and instead embrace Christianity. So, Constantine allowed and even encouraged, the "Christianization" of pagan beliefs. Completely and totally unbiblical pagan beliefs were given new "Christian" identities. Some examples of this are the following:
The cult of Isis, an Egyptian mother-goddess religion, was absorbed into Christianity by replacing Isis with Mary. Many of the titles that were used for Isis, such as the "Queen of Heaven," "Mother of God," and "Theotokos" (God bearer) is attributed to Mary. Mary was an exalted role in the Christian faith, far beyond what the Bible ascribes to it in order to attract the faithful to Isis a faith that would not otherwise embrace. Many temples to Isis, in fact, converted into temples dedicated to Mary. The first clear advice of Catholic Mariology occur in the works of Origen, who lived in Alexandria, Egypt, which became the center of worship of Isis.
Most Roman emperors (and citizens) are henotheists. A henotheist is one who believes in the existence of many gods, but focuses on a particular primary, god, or considers one particular god supreme over other gods. For example, the Roman god Jupiter was supreme on the pantheon of Roman gods. Roman sailors were often followers of Neptune, god of the oceans. When the Catholic Church absorbed Roman paganism, simply replaced the pantheon of gods with the saints. Just as the Roman pantheon of gods had a god of love, a god of peace, a god of war, the strength of a god, a god of wisdom, etc, so the Catholic Church has a saint who is "responsible" about each of these and many other categories. Like many Roman cities had a god specific to the city, so the Catholic Church always "patron saints" of cities.
For Mary, Mother of God is the closest friend of Jesus and His intercession for us, works wonders. We believe in the communion of saints as well.
Mary object of preaching and worship
Since Vatican Collection Volume 1, the Second Vatican Council, the council and post conciliar documents. General Editor Austin Flannery, OP New revised edition of 1992, Costello Publishing Company, Northport, New York. 1992 pages 420-421 (section 65)

65. But while the majority of the Blessed Virgin of the church that has reached perfection she exists without spot or wrinkle (cf. Eph. 5:27), the faithful still strive to conquer sin and increase in holiness. So turn your eyes to Mary who shines throughout the community of the elect as the model of virtues. Prayerfully meditating on her and contemplating her in the light of the Word made man, the Church reverently penetrates more deeply into the great mystery of the Incarnation and becomes more and more like her spouse. Having entered deeply into the history of salvation, Mary, in a way, unites in his person and again echoes the most important doctrines of the Faith, and as she is the subject of preaching and worship that encourages the faithful to come to his son for his sacrifice and love of the Father. After the search of the glory of Christ, the Church becomes more noble, as its type, and continually progresses in faith, hope and charity, seeking and doing God's will in all things. The Church, therefore, in his apostolic work also rightly expects of it that gave birth to Christ who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, so that through the church he born and could be increased in the hearts of the faithful. In her life the Virgin has been a model of that motherly love to all who joined in the apostolic mission of the Church for the regeneration of mankind should be animated.
IV. THE CULT OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN IN THE CHURCH1
66. Mary has by grace been exalted above all angels and men to a place second only to her Son, the Holy Mother of God, who participated in the mysteries of Christ: she is rightly honored by a cult especially in the Church. From the earliest times the Blessed Virgin is honored under the title Mother of God, whose protection the faithful took refuge in prayer in all their dangers and needs. Therefore, after the Council of Ephesus, there was a marked growth in the worship of the people of God to Mary, in veneration and love, in invocation and imitation, according to her own prophetic words: "all generations will call me blessed, because he who is mighty has done great things for me "(Luke 1:48).
Comments on this passage
Nowhere in Scripture are we told in the eyes of someone other than the Lord himself. We are told to fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfect our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Furthermore, it is Jesus who is the model of virtue, not Mary. Although it was very blessed, and no doubt a pious woman, she still needed a savior. Mary said: "And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior" (Luke 1:47). Contrary to Catholic teaching that Mary was without sin, Mary itself admitted that God was their savior. A person without sin does not need a savior. It is in the person of Jesus said that the grace and truth (and under), our example and our eyes should remain on him.
"Wife?" Yet the research to discover what is meant.
The only proper object of preaching and worship God. Jesus said, "… You must worship the Lord your God and serve Him only "(Matthew 4:10). Mary's incredible risk for the subject of preaching and worship were both warned about in Exodus 20:4-5, "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or below ground or water under the earth. "Do not worship or service, for I the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on children, the third and fourth generations of those who hate me. "God clearly warns against the creation of any idol before anyone should bow. Needless to say, the countless images of Mary Catholic churches strewn all around the world, are certainly most of the shrines of idolatry, and thousands of times a day, Catholics the world over breaking the commandment of God by bowing before these images in worship.
We must look to Christ alone. When you take your eyes off Jesus and put into anything else, or any other person, he was taken the wrong way.
Where is this taught in Scripture? Where it says that Mary was exalted above the angels and the men second only to his son? This would mean that Mary is a little less of Jesus, the creator of the universe, in the position. I assumed its place is a place of authority, holiness, etc. Vatican II, the comments are not biblical. This teaching can not be found in Scripture and should be abandoned.
This is a misleading term. Mary is the Mother of God in that God created the universe, had a mother. That would be too close to Mormon theology. By contrast, Mary is the mother of the human nature of Jesus, not the mother of the divine nature.
However, one can say that in a sense she is the Mother of God, if that means that is carried within the Incarnate Word. This incredible privilege does not mean that God, being infinite and holy, was nursing in his chest after his birth. But it does mean that the person of Jesus. It is human nature to feed, and not the divine.
we ask them to pray for us ….
Why ask your friends to pray for you?
silly question
Why Mary is close to God …
