Why do Catholics pray to Mary when I thought she died?
I do know that Jesus was, but she was still a normal human who died and went to the soul either heaven or hell
- Why in the world Catholics pray to the statue of Mary? Where the Bible does say to pray to Mary?
- Why do Catholics pray to Mary instead of Jesus.
- Why Catholics pray for the help of the Virgin Mary?
- Dead Cannot pray for you. So why Catholics pray to Mary?
- Why The Roman Catholic Church to ask a man to forgive the sins of there? Why pray to Mary Died a soul?

First, Catholics do not pray to Mary. Catholics ask for their intersession, in other words, I invite you to pray for us. One problem here is understanding the word "pray."
Hundreds of years ago the word had to pray more than the current definition is common now. For example, if you were a subject of a king or some kind of nobility and you want to ask a favor of him or her, you might say something like, "I pray to my majesty" … or "listen to my prayers for you my lord "…" and give me this favor." Now really is not invoked a kind of religious devotion to this land, man or woman, I just wanted a favor, and given the context of the day in which they lived, than in the more submissive, more formal as possible.
Now the Roman Catholic Church is the oldest Christian denomination in the world, has a great sense of history. Some of the things the Church did not only by Christians in the days of the apostles did. The Bible does not say how to organize a religious service, for example, all you have to follow is what made the early church. Therefore, goes almost without saying that some of the terms used might be a bit outdated. But it is not unbiblical or at least anti-biblical.
Now the other question that arises from this is, "why ask Mary to pray for you? Well, you do not have that as a Catholic. As a Catholic, you just have to pray to God directly, in the form of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But why not ask Mary, the ever-virgin Mother of God, pray for you? Most Christians ask their relatives and friends to pray for them, Catholics, Protestants and Eastern Orthodox, doing so is very biblical.
So why would like Mary to pray for you. Yes, Mary is dead … at least in terms of his physical body no longer walk on earth as we do, but where do you think you are? That is, the sky, fully clothed in the glory of our Savior, Jesus Christ. And do not you think the mother of Jesus is a little closer to his heart than any other person who has lived most his own homeland … or your neighbor who does not even go to church every Sunday or who? And the closer you are to God, most are like him. The sky's the mystery to us mortals living. But one thing is clear, is not understood as a kind of happy cocoon where they do not do anything but float in a cloud, playing the harp. I do not know anyone who still believes that none of that.
according to Catholic dogma, Mary was born without sin and was "taken" in the sky, rather than die and leave a corpse in the ground.
according to Catholic tradition, saints are those who died in a state of grace, so that their souls are in heaven, and hear our prayers
Mary is supposed to have the ability to intercede on behalf of the people (get their sentences were moved to the top of the list).
because they think that just because she is the mother of Jesus that she could help people but in reality it was just a normal woman her mother who decides to give a god jesus Brith cousin was a good person, and people thought that Because of this, she could heal people, but that does not truelike i said it was a good person ….. but that only WuT think.
Catholics pray to Mary and the Catholic Church for centuries, the people said they were unworthy of speaking to God directly. They went through "intermediaries", ie speaking to Mary (just as an example), and Mary then plead his case before God. The Catholic dogma that all men (and women), born Adam became evil, Adam sinned against God because it corrodes over time that even the act of prayer to God was beyond the scope of humanity. Since the 1900s, and accompany the emergence of a democratic society in America, modern Christians tend to view men responsibility for their own sins, not the transgression of Adam. The idea that men can approach God directly was again through religious leaders of the modern restoration of movement, particularly Joseph Smith in 1830.
Catholics, Protestants, contrary to dogma, believe in the intercession of saints, which means that the sentence in the various holy saints interceding with God to grant the request made in prayer. Catholics pray to Mary because she was the mother of Christ and was taken to heaven (of course) which is celebrated on August 15 as the Assumption. Another example is that St. Jude is considered the founder of lost causes and St Anthony is the search of items lost. The list goes on and on. It is simply a belief system.
Chow!

We share the view of Catholics in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you can ask your friends and family here on earth to pray for you. You can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints is communication, not worship.
+ + The Blessed Virgin Mary
In Luke 1:48, Mary prophesied, "From now on all generations will call me blessed."
A question for Christians who take the Bible literally: Do you call Mary "blessed"? If not, why?
The Hail Mary prayer simply recites passages from the Bible (the Word of God) and asks Mary to pray for us:
Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. (These are the words that the angel Gabriel said to Mary, a Bible quote.)
Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. (This is Mary's cousin Elizabeth's greeting, another biblical quotation.)
Santa Maria, (The angel Gabriel said he was full of grace and Elizabeth says he was blessed.)
Mother of God (the Bible says that Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God)
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. (A simple request to pray for us.)
Amen.
+ With love in Christ.
Well, some Catholics and others do not. I do not see the need to pray to Mary, either. Do not save humanity.
Catholics believe in something called "the communion of saints", which means that there is a relationship between the natural and the supernatural, the earthly and heavenly, and the living and the dead. Catholics pray to the Mother of God as a means, not worship, but as a gesture of friendship and devotion to the woman that God had in this world, and ask for their intercession and prayer, so that we can improve the way discipleship in Christ and endure in faith, hope and love in the midst of a turbulent and confusing world.
Oh, so many misconceptions here …
First, prayer is most simply defined as talking with someone. A person can say in front of a judge "I ask you …"
Secondly, the idea that Mary is dead is wrong for two reasons, firstly because there is a belief that everyone does not die in there, but not in another existence, hopefully the sky. Secondly, the Roman Catholic theology teaches that never died physically, but was taken to heaven before his death.
Have you ever noticed how many times some people, especially elders, talk to someone that nobody can see? However, they know that person, perhaps a dead husband or father or son is there with them.
It's all about life, not death.
Because she is now a saint …
Christians, Catholics or Orthodox, we also celebrate the Resurrection of her. In Macedonia, the holiday is called "Uspenie" and is celebrated on August 25.
I do not know - R U a Catholic?
Wow, so many bad answers.
Answer true: Catholics do not "pray to Mary." Catholics believe in an "intercessory prayer" when asking others to pray with and for them. Is not a form of worship. Is no different from an evangelical altar call where a sinner goes to the front of the congregation, and asks others to pray for him. Sometimes they do not feel worthy, sometimes we ask about the power of prayer in a crowd. Sometimes we feel completely alone and remember the following:
"When two or more are gathered in my name
I am there in their midst. "
Matthew 18:20
Because Catholics, Orthodox Christians like us, do not believe that death is a permanent state, we can be alone, but appealed to anyone else, alive or dead, who was a good Christian to pray with us. Therefore, two or more are gathered in the name of Christ and leads the prayer of Christ in our midst.
Marian doctrine is common misunderstanding. I'm not even sure each understands Marian Catholic doctrine … is very complicated. But Catholicism is not alone in intercessory prayer. We are doing as Christians, and the apostles walked the earth.
There is only one religion that calls for someone who is alive. All other religions around the world to pray for people who have died.
If you have any belief in God, then never take a moment to think that Mary could have gone to hell. I am not Catholic, but I can tell you that part of a person chosen by God to bring a child to be a prophet, would be in heaven with the rest of the saints hear and answer prayers.
Praying to Mary, she can not respond personally to your prayers, she has the prayers to God. This is the same with any Saint or Prophet or Imam.
Technically, Mary did not die. She only reached to the sky ….
For Catholics, Mary is an ideal, was free from sin and the mother of Christ. Make sure you do not make the mistake that many Christians and assume that the fact that Catholics pray to it, see it as equal to Jesus. I think the whole concept of Mary and the saints is really only understood by the practice of Catholics. In addition, all the other saints died and even pray with them, so its not a factor in death, only goodnes general. I hope that helps!
Mary went to heaven
