Why non-Catholics use the Bible to explain why use rosaries, praying to Mary, the saints and statues?
Just ask.
- Do Catholics believe monotheistic When praying to the statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary?
- Why do Catholics pray to Mary and the saints and Bow Before Statues?
- Please explain to me, What is wrong with praying the Hail Mary?
- Do Christians think Catholics are no strangers When Christians pray to Mary and the saints and statues?
- When Did The Catholic Church Begin Praying To Mary And The Saints?

I know this … where is it? not in my Bible ….
pray or ask what is the difference?
ask a friend to pray with you, well, praying with friends …. live speaking with the dead is wrong no matter what excuse is used.
focal point? golden calf was a focal point and what happened there …..
Its not from the Bible. Practices that come from religion. Rosary beads are to help you with your prayers while meditating and focusing on Christ, whether his birth, his life or death. And there is prayer to Mary or statues. His prayer with Mary, or saints, as you pray with your friends or fellow church attendees. Somehow the people totally.
That is one of the main differences between us. We do not accept his heresy that everything has to be in the Bible. Nobody accepts that to reform. This means that for over 1500 years, their belief system is unknown. God does not lock in an old book. We know it is still revealing itself to us, here and now. We accept the ongoing revelations and compare our sacred tradition, the Bible and our history books to determine its validity. We have faith in the fullness God intended.
Hi,
This Catholic has read the Bible, took courses in the Protestant Bible classes for several years and has studied ancient history.
You are based on a faulty foot with a loaded question fallacious.
Statues are just reminders as crosses and doves I see in the Protestant churches. Ask Mary or the saints to pray for them as it does its ministers and congregations. One can not use the Bible for everything, may explain the genetic code, or quantum mechanics for example?
Cheers,
Michael Kelly
So, off the break, it is said that rosaries track your prayers. They say that praying to Mary not just ask to pray for them and you ask a friend, same with the saints.
And last but not least, say they do not pray to the statues, which are only to remind them.
edit: hey, I'll try.
For the same reason, the Protestants do not use the Bible as explained
a) why we drive cars to church
b) why the buildings with the sole object of Christian worship
c) why some of us use hymnals
d) the reason why the use of organs or other "modern" musical instruments - some even recorded music
e) why some of us have seats in our churches
etc etc etc
No Christian sect of which I am aware you * only * use the same practices are found among Christians worship in Scripture. No Christian sect of which I am aware cree * only * Christian doctrines claim to be Christians believe in the Scripture. Every Christian I have known - or that I heard - in a sense * * added to the Bible, both in the practices of worship and doctrine.
So why does this matter when Roman Catholics do so as well?

Why do some non-Catholics to use Scripture to explain why they use the Bible as an idol?
Scripture never says that Scripture is the sole authority of the inerrant Word of God. Writing also requires the use of tradition. This fact alone disproves sola scriptura.
There is no evidence in the Bible or elsewhere that Jesus intended the Bible is the sole authority of the Christian faith.
Jesus did many other things not written in the scriptures. These have been preserved through the oral apostolic tradition and are also a part of the deposit of faith.
There is no instruction in the Scriptures about obeying the Bible alone (the word "Bible" is not even in the Bible).
Where do you think came from the Bible? It came from the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, outside which there is no salvation.
Those who do not read the English translation of the Douay Reims - the only authorized version of the Holy Bible - reading are counterfeit, damaged versions of Scripture only able to be burned.
It is not that Catholics have something against the Scriptures, rather, is that the Church abhors and detests the thousands of propagation errors of the heretics, according to the Scriptures themselves say, they have no business to add or subtract from them and falsely interpreted. They began with renegade Catholic priests - the right of Catholic priests - as John Wycliffe and Jan Hus, and continued a few centuries later continued the ex-Catholic monk Martin Luther in Germany and archheretic and renegade Catholic priest in the name Tyndale England.
Even the Protestant king Henry VIII recognized the foolishness that was going on and he stated that only one version (although adulterated), authorized by him, must exist in England. Copies of the Bible as heretics adulterated promoted by Tyndale were captured and burned.
One of the most Protestant Bibles was ultimately issued by an English king in 1609 and became affectionately known as the King James (Authorized) Version. However much people may like this RV is not yet authorized by the copyright holder of Scripture - the Catholic Church.
So, you are entitled to God for his Father, Jesus and his brother, yet who despise his mother? If you do not have the Blessed Virgin Mary for his mother, nor do you have God for his Father. Mary is the greatest and most beloved daughter of God the Father, she is the Mother of God the Son, she is the Spouse of God the Holy Spirit, and yet you think you owe him anything?
Which owes its whole. God would not have become incarnate in the womb of his Blessed Mother without your permission. He did so that the rest of humanity recognize the debt we owe to the Blessed Virgin Mary, who responded to the angel: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord, whether done to me according to your word."
Because rosaries, prayer to Mary, saints and statues from the "traditions" and not the Bible.

@ Fog, actually there are many things Jesus did were written in the Bible, but the Apostle John says in John 20:30-31,
"Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book, but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life through his name. "
See, just enough to believe in Jesus and His Word, not tradition …
@ Catholic Defender -> In 2 Kings 18:4 King Hezekiah destroyed the bronze serpent made by Moses, as was used in worship:
"It eliminates the high places, smashed the sacred stones and reduce the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made, for a maximum time that the Israelites had been burning incense to it. It was called Nehushtan.
You have to understand the Rosary for what they truly represent, there are people who think that we as Roman Catholics are merely the repetition of prayers repeatedly without any purpose of them. The truth is that in saying the Holy Rosary we meditate on the life of Our Lord Jesus Christ. So you have three mysteries: joyful, sorrowful and glorious. There are five decades, he said, so there are five sections of the mystery that we are going to meditate for ten years. Ie Joyful: Annunciation 1 [LUCAS I: XXVIII, XXXI-XXXII], 2 The Visitation [I LUCAS: XLII-XLV], 3rd Nativity [LUCAS II: VI-VII], 4th Presentation [ LUCAS II: XXII-XXIV], etc. Angelic Salutation is also found within the Scriptures. This is just a basic explanation of the Rosary.
In any case it is not necessary to explain the Scriptures to the Rosary, most do not even listen even if you do.
Have you ever read the life and death of Jesus in the Gospels? Have you heard of his mother Mary? Isabel called her cousin to the mother of God and we. This is the meditation that we use when saying the rosary. Jesus taught the Our Father prayer is also included in the rosary and the Hail Mary is also scriptual Gabriel when he came to greet by saying "Hail Mary full of grace!
The commandments to honor your father and your mother is the reason for the honor of Mary and called our blessed mother, and because Jesus died on the cross gave us in the person of John.
True, we do not have to explain the prayers of the Rosary using a bible because the church is formed by the Catholic Church gave the Bible to the world. As you may have heard that just fell outa the sky, but no, Im afraid not.
There are other posts to explain the sentence to the friends of God in heaven, the sky did know that the door was finally opened to the sky when Jesus assended taking with him many old Saints, who had been waiting since the gates of Adams sin Heaven was closed, but thanks to Jesus that is now open to us all.
to pray to the statues, who pray to the statue is beautiful as our dear St. Joseph, Mary, Bernadette, or meetings, or Santa Teresa or S. Rita, etc etc etc, who in their right mind could really believe that you can pray to a statue or a picture or a bible or even a lit candle? Surely you and others who are not naive or stupid to think really a picture or statue can hear /? Surely not, but those in heaven, or as the Bible says the "witnesses" who surround us actually see and hear, or do we not know what a witness? I think that means someone who is, right? ho hum I have to pray my rosary I am sorry.
sure why I'm going to do that for you. glad you asked

Because not everything is in the Bible. We also have sacred traditions. DO NOT pray to Mary and ask the saints to pray for us. Statues of saints are nothing but just remember, it's like when you take a photo of someone you like. We have the dogmas of faith which means that were revealed by God to us. That is why we have The Pope is only infallible when it comes to articles of faith. Remember that Jesus said would not leave his church orphans Please read the Catechism of the Catholic Church
Tuberoot, which has been in R & S long enough to know this issue is a drink for us every day Catholics. This would have come in their search box, I think the last count of the same issues was more than 2000 times and each time you respond with the truth (I have seen some of their responses) and others do not believe us.
So I'm gonna make this short, Lion of Judah have the right to pray rosaries are aids.It 's called INTERCESSION ask Mary and the saints to pray for us just to ask a relative or friend to pray for you. We pray to God directly and Worship God, not just the Saints or Mary.
Bibilical And here are some referance Thus, in Psalm 103, which read, "Bless the Lord, oh to his angels, that the powerful make his word, hearkening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will! "(Psalm 103:20-21). And in the opening verses of Psalms 148 we pray, "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord of the heavens, praise him in the highest! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, his welcome to all! "
Not only those in heaven pray with us, but also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, John sees that "the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each with a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of saints "(Rev. 5:8). Thus the saints in heaven offer to God the prayers of the saints on earth.
Angels do the same thing: "[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer, and was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all saints to the altar gold before the throne and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God "(Rev. 8:3-4).
Catholics and Orthodox Worship God and only God
Mary is not dead "it is no longer in this world," but she is in heaven. I will give you a simple example that even in the RV. When Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus killed? NO!. We do pray directly to God and Worship, but we ask the saints and the intercession of Mary "To pray for us."
Catholics worship the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and Him alone. There is a big difference between "worship" and "honor." Catholics honor to show respect to the statues of Jesus, for example, exactly the same way for patriotic Americans to show respect to honor the American flag. The flag is just a piece of colored cloth, but it is an honor because of what it represents. In the same way, a statue of Jesus is only plaster and paint, but honor because of who he represents. Not a Catholic worships a statue of Jesus that an American patriot loves the American flag.
Do read the bible and the foundation of many things in the Bible, but do not worship the Bible, unlike some Christians could mention!.
And Judah Leon, thanks for telling the truth.
I suppose that if there was no real Bible pages (I mean the books) is missing, then you are not asked about this holy and intercessory prayer.
The veneration of Mary is inscribed in the depths of the human heart.
- Martin Luther –
Until we understand what the Holy Tradition never understand Catholic doctrines. The Bible is part of Sacred Tradition. Any interpretation that goes against the Holy Tradition is a misinterpretation. The word of God can not contradict.
Early Christians took a bag of stones and inserted into another, in order to count prayers. These are simple sentences. Later, the 150 psalms Psalter used as devotion. The monks used the psalms and prayers to encourage others to do the same. As this was difficult for the illiterate to learn 150 Psalms, the Our Father and Hail Mary eventually became the standard prayers for the accounts. Finally, the Hail Mary together in decades and an Our Father was assigned to the ten balls of lead.
We do know is that the Rosary is the Gospel of Jesus Christ not you?
The Gospel of Jesus Christ / Rosario
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
(Mt 28:19, cf. John 14:13-14, Acts 2:21)
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord. Was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day rose again. Ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Lev 5:5, Neh 1:5-9; Dan 9:3-19, James 5:16)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
(Matthew 6:9-13, cf. Luke 11:2-4, Mark 14:36, Galatians 4:6)
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, now and ever, for ever and ever. (Luke 2:14, cf. Rev 4:11, 5:11-14)
Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Lead us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven especially those most in need of your mercy.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. (Luke 1:28)
Blessed art thou among women (Luke 1:41-42a, Luke 1:48),
Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus (Luke 1:42 b)
Holy Mary, Mother of God (Luke 1:43)
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen (Luke 2:35, John 2:3-5)

Catholicism and Fundamentalism: The Attack of "Catholicism" by "Bible Christians" (Paperback)
by Karl Keating
Feedback =====> 149, 4.5 STARS!
Do you even know what it is the Rosary? Meditation is prayer in the Gospels. Ave Maria is a Bible verse.
Catholics believe that we are in communion with the saints. We ask our fellow Christians to pray for us, because God is not a God of the dead.
Because the Bible is not to be used to explain them.
First, the Church came before the Bible. The Bible was written for the Church, the Church. The Church does not teach, because the Bible is the Bible because the Church has always taught the same.
The New Testament is a series of letters all written to the newly formed Christian Churches, to address the issues that were addressed. It is the infallible word of God, but is the foundation of faith. In fact, the Bible says that the "pillar and foundation of truth is the Church" not writing.
Our prayers are with Mary in intercessory prayer, which the Bible does not speak. He says it is pleasing to God that we ask others to pray for us, and we pray for others. Mary and the Saints are Christians who ask you to pray for us. We see that the fact that they no longer have earthly bodies as a barrier to being one with us in Christ. In fact, St. Paul says that nothing can separate us from Christ, even death. Therefore, even though they no longer live in bodies of flesh here on earth, are still with us one in Christ and, therefore, pray for us.
The devotion known as the Rosary is simply a series of biblical prayers along with meditations on the life of Christ. It is not necessary for someone to pray the rosary, or included in our Mass or worship. It's just a devotion. Just because the Bible does not talk about altar calls biblical studies or tent revivals, does not mean that these things are not valid forms of worship and fellowship.
The use of statues going way back. When most people could not read, only heard the biblical stories in the mass Statues were used to help the biblical characters to life. As people hear about Moses from the Red Sea, or taking his family to Nazareth of Joseph, Mary, or that God is your servant, nor crucified Jesus on the cross for our sins, these statues were basically visual. We use our 5 senses to help us learn and retain information. How many times have you heard "I'm very visual, or am in the hands of a student?" The statues were used to help people understand and remember stories of the Bible and the important people of faith that he will of God.
Writing is a part of our faith, but it is not the basis of our faith, Christ is. Jesus told his Apostles to go and preach "He never told anyone to sit and write. The Bible is the Word of God, for sure, but there is much writing … do not know because the Bible says so.
Added: Avalon - 2 Tim. 1:13, 1 Thess. 2:13, 2 Tim. 4:2,6-7;
Titus 1:3 - and many, many more. Jesus never told anyone to write a book, or anything he said. http://www.scripturecatholic.com/oral_tr …
There are tons of verses .. the Catholic Church can show tons of support in the Bible for their beliefs and teachings .. Do not forget that the compiler decided dang thing .. what happened to it, after all. They were not fools, no things to refute them, if interpreted correctly. - What is the warning.
Here the fundamental question that concerned .. SI demonstrated that the test … actual test?
Think about it .. you have to agree with my interpretation of the Scriptures to see the evidence … Huh?
So how open are you to see things not from a Protestant, anti-Catholic bent, but the search for answers to a student mentality?
Cause, maybe … perhaps the only evidence of what the Catholic church is wrong in scripture, but because non-Catholics do not believe that the Catholic Church has no authority, generally do not believe her, especially if they demonstrate that the Catholic doctrine .
Its just like this …
If you do not believe in UFOs and aliens … What is the opportunity that is going to accept anything as evidence that authority?
I know I do not believe in UFOs or aliens .. but I see these programs on the History and Discovery Channel at least once a month, and all the time, I am mentally terrying their "alleged" evidence and laughter wack conspiracy theorists who think the government is covering everything.
SO .. I am to be presented with any evidence, but refuse to see it as proof .. mainly because they do not believe in aliens.
I will say this .. the Catholic Church established the Canon of the Bible, which decided to include in it. Ironically, about 1200 years later, he was fighting the Protestant Reformation that changed the Catholic Bible .. actually removed 7 books of the Old Testament.
This is ironic, because at least 1 of the books, Macabe gave evidence of Catholic belief in Purgatory … and again, ironically, when Protestants say purgatory is unbiblical, because it eliminates the evidence. Point to their bibles and Catholics say, "is here" - and Protestants say "HA, even using the TRUE bible, like us" - forgetting that they are the ones that changed in 1600.
It is therefore ironic that when they say things are unbiblical in at least 1 area, which really made the way to accommodate them.
Finally, we need to differentiate from extra-biblical and unbiblical. They are 2 different things. - The majority of Protestants have lost this distinction throughout the 1800s.
Fortunately prayer to Mary and the intercession of the saints is not unbiblical or extra-biblical, but very biblical.
_____________________________________
But to answer your question …
Catholics do not pray to Mary, but to ask for his intercession. Same with the saints and statues.
Jesus is the only mediator, but … Does it mean that others can not intercede on our behalf? Do you beg, please help? Does the Bible verses that say he is the only mediator that he alone … anotherwards .. Does that mean someone can not pray with him on my behalf? Not to increase our dependence on Jesus? 2 people because we believe in him .. asking for help? Therefore, no intercession Expanding our relationship with Jesus?
Protestants who argue that its role as mediator dillutes ONLY .. Catholics simply do not believe it.
A business owner is the only entrepreneur who has sole ownership and responsibility for the continued operation and profitability of the company? RIGHT?
Not to hire an accountant to pay the bills, a receptionist to answer phones, etc dillute its role? The delegation of responsibilities in any way make it less of an owner?
So why can not someone so powerful and frightening others as Jesus coming to him for help, without dilution of its role? Http: / / http://www.catholic.com / library / Interc …
Statues are a form of religious art. Modern culture and especially the Protestant (non-Catholic Christians) have lost this distinction. For them, everything that does not represent God or Jesus is "idoltry" - but ignore the thousands of years of religious art.
Non-Catholics to Pray .. Statues Statues use as a focal point, something to focus and center with us. We use them as reminders of the saints .. People who were told to emulate the apostles.
We worship of Mary, the saints and statues, some as much as a boy of 13 years loves the poster of your favorite sports hero.
Many things that differentiate Catholics and Protestants and fundamentalists simply do not. So this makes a division between them.
If I say A and B are different, but blieve A and B are the same … How can we actually have a discussion about A or B? Something to say about A, which applies to B and vice versa. I have as distinct and separate, however, do not.
This may make you think I am contradicting because if I say that for 1 A and B, which will apply the same concepts at once.
I'm talking about the distinction between religious art, art and regular. The distinction between praying to something or someone for help and intercession and prayer to them as a god.
I'm talking about the distinction between Lateria and Dulia (cultured vs reverence)
In one case, the Protestants in fact make a distinction that Catholics do not.
You see the Protestants believe in the intercession, but only 2 people on Earth. It's OK to ask your mom, your pastor, or friend, here on earth .. to pray for you.
BUT, once the person dies .. they are dead for you. You can no longer speak with them. Are in the sky and separated us.
Is limited to Catholics not make that distinction … up to heaven or living here on Earth, all Christians, past and present, living or dead are alive in Jesus Christ and, therefore, accessible to us to pray for help … can besiege St. Francis of Assisi to ask God to save the lives of our poor wounded dogs …. as easily as you can pick up the phone and ask our brother in Ohio to pray to God that our dog will live.
Catholics see little difference in the situations 2.
So is 1 case in which Protestants are making the distinction, but most of the time is that the Catholic Church is to make distinctions.
Catholics do not pray to statues. Rosries and the use of prayer to Mary is a form of devotion and has nothing to do with the Bible.
We have. Again and again and over.http: / / http://www.scripturecatholic.com / oral_tr http://www.scripturecatholic.com/index.h … …
Because Jesus came to found his church, not to write, she did and then wrote the Bible. Jesus> Church> Bible. The Catholic church is not biblical, the Bible is Catholic.
Fundi are not and do not have to explain everything according to the Scriptures.
Protestants believe that the ultimate authority in religious practice is the Bible.
Roman Catholics believe that the ultimate authority in religious practice is the Pope.
It is difficult for the Protestant Bible-obsessed American to understand, but the pope is allowed to add to, interpret, or even the Bible.
This difference of opinion, of course, caused hundreds of years of war and millions of deaths in Europe. And in the end, nothing was resolved.
Because the Bible does not command us to do any of those things.
If the store does not say the prayer over and over again, obviously it would be necessary to account how many times they say.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia admits that the early Christians prayed to God, not saints when he says: "In general, the N [ew] T [establishment], prayer to everyone, both private and public liturgical prayer, is addressed to God the Father through Christ. "It also states:" The sentence should be an expression of friendship with God. "Volume XI, pp. 670, 673.
Have "friendship with God" eliminates the need to have someone speak for you, even if that were possible. Christians do not have to go through "holy" because they are afraid to deal directly with God. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, revealed that no such need intercessors with God, because we "freeness of speech" to deal with him through Jesus. Paul advised: "Therefore, focusing freeness of speech to the throne of goodness prejudices, to obtain mercy and kindness to help find bias at the right time." (Hebrews 4:14-16)
To address the rosary:
See you in the Holy Scriptures and is no reference to those who need a rosary or similar means of counting prayers memorized. In fact, the Bible does not suggest that prayer is the same to be repeated again and again.
It is true that the Scriptures call Christians to "persevere in prayer." (Rom. 12:12) But this does not mean repeating the same thing over and over again.
