Why'd The KJ translators Use For Erasmus Greek Catholic priest, ignoring 500 text ads in Cambridge?

Namely, uncial D. donated to Cambridge in 1581. Have the Gospels and Acts.
  Erasmus all manuscripts dating from after 1000 AD. Namely, miniscule 1 (EAP), 1 (PA), 2 (e), 2 (AP), 4 (pa) and 7b.

    It matters little what they use. Translators appointed by King James were so poorly educated in the ancient languages that were more than 3,500 translation errors, so the KJV translation of the poorest still in common use. They have made such errors, whether the texts were translated.
      Who else to translate the Hebrew phrase "horned beasts" as "unicorns" (yep, it is in the RV) instead of the correct translation - horse - are found in any other version of the Bible?

    They were based on printed text only - and the most highly regarded in the Greek text of the printing was Beza (not Erasmus, as you suggest, although Beza was based in part on the work of Erasmus)

    Tradition, I guess.
      The RV was told to stay as close to the previous English translations as possible. The former used Bibles such as Tyndale, Bishops' Bible and the Geneva Bible, use the Erasmus program.
