In the prayer "Ave Maria" We say
Holy Mary Mother of God, etc. ….
How is the Virgin Mary Mother of God ..
I respect my religion and believe in God … Just wondering ..
I can understand your situation if you didn't go through Catholic cathechism class or school as a younster. I had a cousin (also a Catholic - as I am too) that was in her 30 and hearing me declare that Jesus is God seriously freaked out and called me blasphemous. In fact, to state otherwise is blasphemous.
Jesus is the Incarnate Word is God in the flesh. Surely you have heard of the Trinity? God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit one God. This is a Catholic doctrine accepted by all Christendom. Have a talk with your parents (and other Catholics know) and see where we are in this. You'll get the same answer over and over again. Have you ever been to a religious school? Catechism? Sunday School? Church at all? How can you not know that one? I know that even, and I'm not Catholic!
Leave your Bible and look for virgin birth, immaculate conception, or even the Virgin Mary. You should be able to figure this one with a little reading.

I'm not Catholic but I think it's because Catholics believe that Jesus was God in the flesh as Jesus when Mary made her believe that technical "mother of God."
