Please understand that Catholicism is a religion is a denomination of Christianity. Praying to Mary or the saints is not acceptable that only those who deliver themselves to God and do what they do not. Who have made their doctrine that God likes certain things and you do not like certain things. They know all those things. They know better than God about their likes and dislikes.
God always works through men. If he did not want to bring glory to his saints, then there would be a direct interaction with humans. But always the option of some holy men to work for him and it is our responsibility to give reverence to them. It is true that God hears the prayers of his saints very quickly. When we pray to a saint or Mary, who takes our prayers to God. They are also powerful for us to respond, as they are elected. God honors them and their prayers. But some Christians do not bow to factions that they are absorbing anger on them. God will not honor anyone who dishonors his saints. "He who receives you, receives me and he who receives me, receives Him who sent Me" These words of Jesus tells us how much it is important to honor those who lived their lives only for God.

You can pray to Mary and the saints.
Protestants always an "either / or" in which Catholics adopt a "both / and" approach. Do not pray to Mary or of God, pray for both. Catholics go to God with our requests and we went to Mary and the saints as well as requests. We ask that we pray to God. Ask your friend if he has never asked anyone to pray for him, this is intercession. He is asking for another member of the Body of Christ to petition God on their behalf, we are doing nothing more or less asking Mary and the saints to pray for us. Are no longer here on earth, but they remain members of the Body of Christ with us and no doubt able to pray for us.
He can say that the Bible forbids talking to the dead in Deuteronomy 18:10-11, but this is a misunderstanding and a way of picking verses to suit their position. In Deuteronomy, God states that one is not to conjure the dead for the purpose of obtaining information, is a look at the prophets of God instead. Therefore it is not a hold a SÉANCE. But anyone with an ounce of common sense can discern the vast qualitative difference between holding a SÉANCE for the dead to speak through a child and says humbly at the grave of his mother, "Mom, please pray Jesus to me, I'm having a real problem at this time. "The difference between the two is the difference between day and night. One is an occult practice bent on getting secret information, and the other is a humble request for a loved one to pray to God on their behalf.
There's nowhere in the Bible that prohibits the intercession of Mary and the saints. Mary and the saints are not dead, but alive in Christ. Were true disciples of the Lord, and of course enjoying the eternal life promised.
Her friend comes from a Baptist faith that has brought the Bible as the foundation of faith, but it is a false doctrine. The Bible itself does not support this theory. The intercession of Christians-which is what the saints in heaven are-also clearly does not interfere with Christ's unique mediatorship because in the four verses immediately preceding 1 Timothy 2:5, Paul says that Christians should be interconnected: First, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be for all men, for kings and all those in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet life, godly and respectful in meaningless. This is good and pleasing to God our Savior, who desires all men be saved and come to the knowledge of truth "(1 Tim. 2:1-4). Clearly then, intercessory prayers offered by Christians on behalf of others is something "good and pleasing to God," is not something that violates the role of Christ as mediator.
Do not forget that all the Catholics do and believe can be supported in Scripture. Nothing we do is against the scriptures. Everything is not explicitly written, somethings are implicit in writing and must be considered as a whole and part of God's plan of salvation that was exposed before the world was created.

I am not worthy Lord, This sentence is in the Bible and when we pray for the help of Mary and the saints, we are not worthy to approach God directly. we are there to get the help of Mary and the saints to intercede for us. I asked for the prayers of many people that make you think that Our Blessed Mother Mary and the saints in good favor with God does not oblige us with your requests to Jesus for us. I am happy that I have these friends there for me to connect. His prayers would be much more powerful when you have more people praying for the same thing for you. And worship is not to say that you my fellow Christians do the same when you ask for the prayers of his fellow members of his own church. God bless.

Jesus, man / God is to be intercessor between the two.
Prayer to Mary is a dilution of who Jesus is, - or an exaggeration of the same?
God puts a great deal about the work of Jesus - and he is our priest reason that on our behalf to the throne of God with his own blood.
Why pray to any faithful servant (Mary)? Jesus is one available or do not want to hear us?

You know what? I also have this debate with non-Catholics. After patiently explaining that "prayer" and "worship" are not synonymous, the prayer of the Rosary are not "pointless", saying the scriptures, etc, only to find that I have been banging my head against a wall of prejudice reflection and anti-Catholics who insist the sky is green (and the Scripture to find that one!) when a Catholic says that blue is finally discovered something very important:
My prayer life is, emphatically, none of their business.
If you want to pray the rosary, or ask a saint to pray for me, or I use many of the wonderful prayers of the Church, or simply kneel and talk to God from the heart "is not something we have right or invitation to criticism. Speaking, our personal habits of prayer are not "matters of salvation." I never think about any other grilled about Christian prayer, with a list of scriptures in hand to see if it is done properly.
I found a wonderful little phrase that tends to work well in many of these situations: "I'm sorry you feel that way, but I disagree. Perhaps it is best to leave it at that. "
There is a time for apologetics and defending the faith and a time to draw the line. This is where I have drawn.

Christians judging their fellow Christians?
Any Christian has asked others to pray for help or pray with them?
Catholics do not pray to Mother Mary or the saints … which is what we ask her intercession.

If we pray to Mary and the saints to ask them to pray for us and especially in times of need. is like asking your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. We, as our heavenly family in heaven to pray for us.
