Catholics Have you read and prayed: "For a choice of Mary Prayer?

Choosing a prayer to Mary
O most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at this most critical moment, we are confident the United States of America in their care. Blessed Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of her Son. Overwhelmed by the burden of the sins of our nation, to shout from the bottom of our hearts and seek refuge in her maternal protection. Look with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. We are free from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God's law is the foundation upon which this nation was founded, and that he alone is the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a new culture of life.
Trusting in your most powerful intercession, we pray,
Remember, O Virgin Mary, more friendly, which has never known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. You are going to do, we are before thee, sad and guilty. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen
  -Bishop. William J. Blacet

Although I am touched by the intent of this sentence, but this is a problem I have with my fellow Catholics in America.
In the city of God of St. Augustine, Augustine speaks of two towns really. The city of man, that was Rome, and the City of God, heaven and eternal life. This book was written just after the sack of Rome by the Visigoths and Augustine makes the point that the Christian layman ideaology governments fall, but the City of God will never fall, because we should not worried about our nation-state, but the nature our souls.
I think this is a good example of placing a greater importance to the City of Man, City of God. This mixture is secular with the divine. Of course, pray for our country, but not government institutions. Pray for the poor who have the Burdon of these difficult times. Pray for those fighting for the souls of the marginalized.
I think many of us lose sight of our community. We're not talking about improving our communities and our local communities, but the community of our fellow Catholics, Our City of God. And within our Catholic community, its people starving in Haiti, Asia, Africa and South America and persicution of Catholics in China, India and the Middle East.
As a young American, I look to inherit a huge national debt, according to a retirement system and lack of healthcare. However, with so much in decline, I can not in good conscience pray for our own my secular institutions, or social class. I can only pray for my less fortunate brothers and sisters and our Catholic city of God.
