Difference between Catholic and Protestant attitudes towards guidance and moral authority?
Unscriptural recognize the Protestant doctrine of "Sola Scriptura" in their so-called "only" source of guidance in terms of morality and authority. And since neither could quite agree on what the Bible means at any given point of doctrine, so you have a million and six Protestant denominations. Roman Catholicism is a political phenomenon that came to suppress Christianity. The Roman Empire was unstable and corrupt, honest people and no doubt a threat to it, as they were to the rulers of Europe during the Dark Ages in which agriculture was limited success.
