I wonder if this might happen? Or if you do it?

  1. Daver says:

Never gonna happen. This idea is not biblical
      The women in the priesthood;
Genesis 3:15, Luke 1:26-55, John 19:26, Rev. 12:1 - Mary is God's greatest creation was the person closest to Jesus, but Jesus did not choose to become a priest. God chose only men to be priests to reflect the complementarity of the sexes. Just as the man (the royal priest) gives the natural life of women in the marriage covenant, the ministerial priest gives the supernatural life of the sacraments of the New Covenant.
Judges 17:10, 18:19 - fatherhood and priesthood are synonymous. Micah says, "Stay with me, and for me a father and a priest." Fathers / priests give life, and mothers receive and nurture life. This reflects our Father God who gives life of grace through the priesthood of the Son of God and Mother of the Church receives the life of grace and feeds her children. In short, women can not be priests because women can not be parents.
Mark 16:9, Luke 7: 37-50, John 8:3-11 - Jesus allowed women to join in its unique mission that exalts above cultural norms. His decision not to ordain women had nothing to do with culture. The Gospel writers also showed that women participate in the ministry of Jesus and, unlike men, never betrayed Jesus. Women have always held the highest esteem in the Church (for example, the greatest saint of the Church and model of faith is a woman, the Church's constant teaching about the dignity of motherhood, understanding Church as the Bride of humanity united to Christ, etc.).
Mark 14:17,20, Luke 22:14 - the language of the "Twelve" and "apostles" shows the Eucharistic Jesus instructed the priesthood, giving holy orders to men.
Genesis 14:10, Heb. 5:6,10, 6:20, 7:15,17 - Jesus, the Son of God, the priest and king after the priest-king Melchizedek. The priesthood of Jesus embodies both royalty and parentage.
Genesis 22:9-13 - as announced, God chose our redemption is guaranteed by the sacrificial love that the Son gives to the Father.
Matt. 26:26, Mark 14:22, Luke 22:19 - because the priest acts in persona Christi in offering to the Father, the priest can not be a woman.
Mark 3:13 - Jesus chose the apostles, "as he wished," according to his will, and not according to the demands of their culture. Because Jesus acted according to his will, which was perfectly united with the Father, you can not criticize the selection of Jesus of men to be priests without criticizing God.
John 20:22 - Jesus breathed on the apostles, only males, the first bishops, giving them the power to forgive and retain sins. In fact, the male priesthood of Christianity was a distinction of the priestesses of paganism that existed in these times. A female priesthood would be a return to non-Christian practices. The sacred tradition of a male priesthood has existed without compromise in the Church for 2,000 years.
1 Cor. 14:34-35 - Paul says that a woman is not allowed to preach the word of God in the Church. It has always been the tradition of the Church by the priest or deacon only (a male orderly) to read and preach the Gospel.
1 Tim. 2:12 - Paul also said that a woman is not allowed to celebrate the teaching of the Church. Can you imagine the amount of Mary, Mother of God, would have been able to teach Christians about his Son Jesus in the Church? However, it was allowed to maintain this kind of teaching authority in the Church.
Rom. 16:1-2 - while many point to this verse Protestant tradition of the Church reported a male priesthood, deacons, like Phoebe, were assistants to the priests (for example, women preparing for baptism to avoid scandal nude ). However, these helpers were never ordered.
Prophetesses Luke 2:36-37 -, like Anna, are women who devote themselves to religious life, but were not ordered.
Isaiah 3:12 - Isaiah complains that the priests of ancient Israel were in their power usurped by women, and this was at the height of Israel's covenant apostasy.

Never gonna happen. The Episcopalians do, however, and are very similar in ritual and tradition.

Never going to happen, simply because the beliefs of the churches.

  4. I am that I am says:

Pope John Paul II explained that the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church have been practiced since the time of Chrits and the Apostles, namely, tha, as God in the Old Testament preists have no women to serve in the temple of the Holy of Santos and sacrifice and not counting any Appostles Jesus between his wife, although there were many supporters of women is obviously not intended by the gods for women in the priesthood. The pagan religions were but priesteses Jewish or Christian religion was not the case. like the Church can not institute new sacraments which were given by Jesus, can not boast a higher authority than that of Jesus and change the things that Jesus said or did, as, for example, never will approve the divorce or polygamy or other things like

  5. peaceisf says:

No, not while hase Pope with his work through the chapel priest. with Pope possible.

  6. Mim says:

By allowing women to become priests, then saved. I hold my breath, the last two popes ultraconservative was about appointing ultra-conservative cardinals to vote in most ultra-conservative popes. Some day they could, otherwise it will become obsolete.

  7. Holistic Mystic says:

nope. that can serve the church through being nuns. Do not think this will never change. Scripture itself requires men to be the head of the family and parish is a big old house of brothers and sisters in Christ:)

  9. Tricia R says:

Probably not in our lives as the 12 apostles were all men.
Christ sent the apostles out to spread the word.
Priests are the current representatives of that tradition.
The Catholic Church is big on tradition.

  10. skurka says:

No, because the Pope has declared infallibly that the Church has no authority to ordain women.
