Besides Catholics, Anglicans, various Protestant denominations, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), Judaism, Hinduism, Scientology, and Islam also practice some form of exorcism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exorcism
Catholics have been casting out demons since Jesus and the apostles did.
Modern psychology says that most people who had cast the demons of them probably miraculously cured from schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. But their cures were still miracles.
The Catholic Church believes Real demonic possessions are rare, but possible, so keep a few exorcists in case.
The Church has guidelines in place to take great care to exhaust the psychological options before calling an exorcist.

I have not seen any exorcisms done, except in movies, which are probably not really like them all!
I'm Catholic and I know that there is "become a Catholic exorcism, but sometimes by a simple prayer for God to enter into a situation and any refusal to comply with and influence is gone.
More often than not there is such dramatic scenes as those found in the movies!
There are Catholic priests who are authorized by their bishop to perform an exorcism. Also in the Protestant Church.
This is a serious matter, especially when many people are opening themselves to possible possession following occult practices.
There exorcisms done in most religions, including non-Christians, as we all believe in the fight against good and evil.

There are several levels and are held in various denominations. In Protestantism, often called liberation. Among the most important of the kind seen in movies are rare and usually require the reporting of medical and psychological experts and unusual events before they are authorized by a Catholic bishop. Some of the most famous are the boys of Illfurth in France in the early 1860s, Earling Iowa in 1920, one in which the "Exorcist" was based that was sent to the Catholic church by a Lutheran pastor (1949: Cottage Hill MD and St. Louis, MO), and the controversy in which "Emily Rose", the film is based (Anneliese Michel, Germany, 1976).

There is the serious, exorcism ritual of Catholic rites.
What happens is that advances such as devil worship is uncomfortable … as the person who seeks to join the worship of the demon tries to interfere. The person feels the need to talk to God - which is what happens. This "something", "strength" and "wrong" in them that takes hold of them fighting for possession. It threatens, please, lies, attacks … but Christ, his power in us, can and must defeat the demon (s). However, the exorcism is not sufficient (Jesus warns about this), because it leaves a void to be filled. If not filled with the gifts of life and spirit, well, I've seen the demons back to where they once were and all their friends with them.
We have been trained that when this happens to a strong Christian struggle with demons and other support through the active intervention of the sentence type. (Needs a Leader: I do not want mixed signals in a battle so important.)

Only Jesus cry or throw holy water or crosses using custom help with the exorcism he needs is the true men of God praying and asking God to help.
Just putting on a show like it was on that link that someone put here is very worrying.

Haha, I saw some time ago Indie films with a Southern Baptist church. Instead of using holy water or crosses, shouted "Jesus Christ" in his eardrum.
