How many sects are there in the Catholic Church?
I read about this kind Richard Williamson, a member of a group called the Society of Saint Pius X. Now, I am a practicing Catholic and I've never heard of this before in my life. Apparently, from what I read, the Catholic Church does not recognize its authority (as a group) or their practices. To me, that means that they are not Catholics. Yet, somehow managing to Catholic rites of Mass and everything. Even their bishops and priests as Catholic priests wear, but are not recognized by the Vatican, then how can you be Catholic? Then read about a group called the Army of Mary. Talk about people who are outside their rocker. I'm trying to find a complete list of sects that were separated in particular the Catholic Church.
- As there are many sects in the Catholic Church?
- And Mary Catholic sects?
- Do you support the decision of the new Pope of the Catholic Church regarding the Latin Mass. ..?
- You might be fine if there is a new church was adopted Rule allow Catholic priests to marry?
- My question is Part 5 About the Catholic Church, Early Church, the Bible and the priests?

In full communion with the Vatican are 23 rites. Two groups, not in full communion, but share the Eucharist, which is the Polish National Catholic Church and Eastern Catholic Church. There are groups that separated the old from the Catholic Church after Vatican I on papal infallibility under various names and various orthodoxy. We can see many more groups within the Vatican by Pope Benedict about the use of institutions to bring them home prelature and schism.

Note:
Opus Dei is in full communion with the Vatican as a prelature with 87,000 members.
I think the recent secessions are divided into two categories: companies, of which there are relatively few (as in The Da Vinci Code, Opus Dei) … Of course, these companies may or may not be actual secession. The second category represents individual parishes were separated or who have been excommunicated, or both. I think most major cities and a large number of children in Catholic churches fall into this latter category. They are not Catholics. They tend to follow the Mass, but could have married, homosexual and female clergy.
None

unlike the various "rites" as the Maronite, Byzantine, Coptic Catholic, Malabarese, etc.
You are right: they are not Catholic
Some have their own "popes"
Many claims have been through the Apostolic Succession i9 ª cent schismatic Old Catholic Movement (orders of the Church of Utrecht)
It seems a fairly academic question for me. Hinging differentiate the orders of religious sects. Therefore, they could get to definitions or semantics, as usual.
I am aware of the Jesuits, Dominicans, Carmelites, and as approved Augustines groups within the Catholic Church. There are others, of course, I believe that the Dominicans and Jesuits are the largest.
