Please do not be as alleged, I am Catholic and have never idolatrada the Virgin Mary, or know of any colleague who is not Catholic, it comes to perceptions think.
A Protestant may believe that to see someone praying before a statue to pray that the present reality and I understand, but this is not how it is.
Catholics use this aid as a devotional ago with a photograph of a loved one, the person who takes easily to the mind and heart and this is the real extent of this practice.
Concerning such things idolatry is my explanation, the divine injunction included the prohibition of any representation of God by man. Deuteronomy explains: "Since you do not see how the day which the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire, be careful not to act corruptly by a serious picture for you, in the form of any shape. It is absolutely transcendent God who revealed himself to Israel. "He is everything," but at the same time "is over all his works. He is the author of beauty.
However, in the Old Testament, God commanded or permitted the making of images that pointed symbolically toward salvation by the incarnate Word: so it was with the bronze serpent, the ark of the covenant, and the cherubim.
Based on the mystery of the Incarnate Word, the seventh ecumenical council at Nicaea (787) justified against the iconoclasts the veneration of icons - of Christ, but also of the Mother of God, angels and all saints. By becoming incarnate, the Son of God introduced a new "economy" of images.
The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. In fact, "the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype," and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person represented in it. The honor paid to sacred images is a "respectful veneration," not the adoration due to God alone: Religious worship is not directed to images in themselves, considered as mere objects, but under their distinctive aspect of images that lead us to God incarnate. The movement toward the image does not end with her image, but tends to whose image is. The Catechism of the Catholic Church. <>. http://198.62.75.1/www1/CDHN/comm1.html> …
The veneration of sacred images is based on the mystery of the Incarnation of the Word of God. It is not contrary to the first commandment, and keep in mind that it was believed by his idol worshipers called deity actually inhabited the idol itself and that this crime was angry God, Catholics do not believe that Christ or his mother or the holy living in the holy statues or images are used solely as visual aids to draw a heart with the privacy issue as a family photograph allows us to have a loved one in a moment of privacy.
God bless.

Changed the Ten Commandments, that does not have to feel guilty about the cult statues of Mary and all the rest of pagan idolatry.
He was very smart how they did it.
That dropped the second commandment (worshiping idols) and split the tenth and greed of his wife number nine neighbors and their house number ten and so on, unless bible expert, you would't know.
I wonder what else has changed?

Catholics do not worship Mary. Do not worship statues. Who give honor to Mary, because she deserves it. She was not "just" a bowl. God chose to bring our Lord and Savior. Nothing wrong in honoring Mary and the saints or, if none of them are placed above God. And they're not. This is not the statues that are giving Catholics honor, are the people the statue represents.
And I am not Catholic, even, but I will defend to the Church!

4. Sldgman says:

You are misinterpreting the actions of some Catholics. You have studied and Catholics do have their own interpretation withoout ask what Catholics are doing.
Catholics do not worship statues of Mary. Flowers can be placed at the base of the statues, but this is just a sign of our love for Mary, who was the mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mary is loved, but adored. Worship is reserved only to God.

You touched a very sensitive issue "Gellert" I fear
That millions of devout Catholics, who follow their faith and
The respect and love of humanity is left entirely to the State
The Vatican has for more than conjoured ideas and situations
The years that are far from being "religious" Look for example in the "wealth"
And when the power is full of world poverty. He said "The
World 'on purpose, because of mass poverty is everywhere. In the United Kingdom in
U.S. (In millions homeless and that was before this current
Recession .. Rescue million being held for medical treatment
By its neighbors. Deputies. Senators. Call them what you will)
Most religions have masses of wealth (land, jewels, and Buildings
Require the poor even among his followers to give gifts! )
So You SeeWhat with all the above and the millions of people
Have been culled (killed) in the name of religion, the less
Issue you mentioned is insignificant against the
Mechanics of the full power and indoctrination in the hands of our SO
Religious Leaders Call. I hope this makes you feel better about
The Virgin Mary is "venerable" by Catholics rather than
"worship" ( "Task" read about the lost tribes of South

The problem is that people actually follow their faith and
are devout and kind and love are of a different race of
The so-called leaders of these religions … and have always been ………… QED

despite what you may have heard, the Catholic Christians do not worship idols. Statues, jewelry, glasswork and other things along these lines that are pieces of art as the honor of the saints were good people, while giving us the inspiration to continue to worship and serve God the way he had .

8. Der Roman Katholische knecht says:

First, Roman Catholicism teaches that there is no requirement for interconnection of the Saints on their behalf. The Roman Catholci teaches us that we should pray to God and intecerssions of the saints and the Virgin Mary Thedokos not mandatory, but many Catholics with our Orthodox brothers and Anglican Christains do suprinsingly ask intercessionfrom Saints
The evidence comes from the St. Paul to Timothy
then, first, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for all the world is-2For kings, and all the authorities, so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all piety and holiness. 3This is good and pleases God our Savior wants 4who all men be saved and come to the knowledge of truth. 5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Its so funny that our Anglican brothers and ssisters said they adhlere Article 39, but still ask the saints to imtecerssion. How ironic as Protestants, and also

9. cristoig says:

We do not. Idolatry is forbidden in the Catholic Church. Catholics do not worship anything or anyone but God. Undoubtedly, they are smart enough to know that there is a statue of a god. Your question is ridiculous indictment. God bless!

Catholics do not idolise or worship statues of Mother Mary. We worship and pray to her for her intercession.
We have pictures and statues of Mother Mary and the saints. Their performance or how to place a photo of your loved one at home.

11. Believer, wife & mother says:

Again! I think you should go back and read some of the other answers given to this question. Mary is our intercessor to Jesus closest we have. She is the person who will ask Jesus to hear us. She is his heart, his love, his Mother and our Mother too, and Jesus never said no to Mary, his Mother. His idol not pay tribute to her. God bless.

Right! named in the warrants "no false gods" and also says "no idols" But that's just a joke in that story. The writers that many things of this nature in this story. History is full of parodies of the War of the Jews. Watch "fishers of men" which is a parody of the Roman soldiers and Jews pulling the sea after they were killed during one of those who fought wars with the Romans. The writers make jokes about the horrible Jews. .

18. craig b says:

You do not understand because the truth of Scripture.
Catholics say they are only praying to Mary is not the position taken by the Church. 1865 Catholic doctrine states that Mary, the Mother of God, is to be the Mediator of God. That is, Mary is the mediator, intercessor, so that our prayers to be taken before God the Father, not Jesus Christ!
Catholics can say all you want against this - but this is the word from the Vatican!
This alone should be enough to drive to all that the Catholic religion, but NO! It's because almost all Catholics to speak, only saying that this is not correct. They do not even know what they are supposed to believe!
Why do you think that Martin Luther posted his 95 theses in Wittenburg Door?
There is a Catholic church in Ecuador which has a high cross in the center of the church with Mary ……………. HANGING ON IT! This completes the validation of the Vatican!
