Make a Catholic priest gave me a Catholic?

Already in 1953, when he was six years old, was unconscious and the point of dying in a Catholic Hospital. The staff was surprised to learn that I was not baptized, and my parents want to be baptized yet. Therefore, the hospital sent home from my parents, and the next day told my parents that a Catholic priest had given me the last rites. I understand that at that time was just this sacrament to be given to the Catholics. The priest would require first that made me a Catholic?

    * Is Catholic
Last Rites, Extreme Unction can be given only to baptized Christians. If you were given last rites, which should have been given an emergency baptism.
The current Canon Law states (points in CAPS)
Power. 1004 ß1 The anointing of the sick can be given to any member of the faithful who, having reached the use of reason, begins to be at risk of death from sickness or old age.
Power. 1005 If there is any doubt as to whether the patient has reached the age of reason, or is seriously ill or dead, this sacrament should be administered.
As we can see, is limited to the sacrament of faith.
In canon law that baptism can be done without the express consent of the person, if the individual does not implicitly reject the baptism when there is a danger.
Therefore, it would have to say that if it was given Last Rites and the priest was doing what he was trained to do, to be baptized for the first time. But that is not a guarantee of what happened.
Should have been baptized? That is a different matter.
But what I mean is that it is definitive (documented) Last Rites body that can promote healing, if the Holy Spirit and therefore beneficial to the individual.
That could be your case, since his return to health allows you to pick and choose for himself the baptism is free, as a pure gift of grace, that day (if that is what happened).
Why is this question of yours? What is the underlying theme that you have … perhaps I could help with that.

I think there is power in prayer. The priest may have been guided to you for a reason, baptized or not, I do not question it. I value her experience as a blessing, a miracle.
Please send me an email, who responded to my question about the number of the beast - You answer is very wise, I'd like to talk to you about the number 3 full meaning. Can you give me a step to explain in more detail?

Nobody can "make" a Catholic, and apparently their parents did not want this for you. You have not come to what the church calls the "age of accountability" and the last rites were given to you by the grace of God as a gift given by the hospital and the chaplain. It seems somewhat helped since survived the deadly disease. I thank God for the prayers that are present when six years old (as I am sure your parents have) and try to build a personal relationship with God and decided now.

  5. Doc says:

That did not make you Catholic, but gave the Catholic rite, should die …

  6. Doc says:

Water spray did nothing. Do not worry. Catholics are not Christians, and it is best to avoid their "priests" at all costs.
