Question About Catholic priest?

This may sound Strage but I've been wondering this for a while. Can a Catholic priest has a dog, you know the company, since it must get lonely being a priest? I know there is a priest in Yahoo! A, so I really would appreciate your response.
  Thank you, God bless!

Yes, the priest of the church of my childhood was a dog. The parish house was next to the school and were used to tie out part at recess and we will align and stroke.

A Catholic church can have a dog. A Catholic church can have foster children. Some Catholic priests can marry and have their own children. I personally know Catholic priests in all these categories.
Catholic priests who are not married before being ordained, can not marry.
For details, really depends on the particular order "," Catholic priests, as there are many, and have specific differences.

It's really a question of whether or not it is affordable and if they are available. My pastor, when I was little, there a couple of bird dogs, because he liked the game. There is also a Benedictine monastery where the dog of the abbey. Unfortunately his name is Abby, I'm sure it provides the confusion. Some religious communities, particularly the mendicant orders did not have dogs, because it would have to be paid by the community. Hope this helps.

You can only have goldfish and cats. No dogs. Just kidding! Now I think I do not know if I've ever met a Catholic priest who had a pet. Do not know. I have had much of a Catholic priest and nun friends. I never thought. I know that priests do not always stay in the same parish and move from one parish to another depending on the need to make a commitment to a pet can become a problem in these circumstances.
      Edit:
Whoever gave me thumbs down, I am a staunch defender of Catholics in R & S and my comments were not intended to be offensive! I am the best friend of the Catholics are Protestants here. I am the first out in defense of Catholics ever. Do not be so sensitive.

Our parish priest has a dog called Max who is very popular among school children of the parish.
Pope Benedict XVI has always had cats until he moved to the Vatican where pets are not allowed. I think your cat is now kept by his former housekeeper … or maybe it's a housewife of her brother.
Priests can and do not feel alone, it is a sad thing. Our priests should have the fraternal company of men in our congregations, as well as frequent invitations to share a meal with the families of the parish. We all have to help lessen the burden as they have (if we do lawn work, plumbing, painting, drawing parishioners, etc. will not have to) and invites them to excursions or during meals.

Well, I do not think that is illegal, is just that a Catholic priest is busy ministering to people, talk, and many other things that would not have time to care for a pet.

my old pastor had a dog - spirits - we loved that old dog! my new pastor - only have one a couple of years ago. It's wonderful for them. There are so many things that can be discussed with your confessor only. it really can be a challenge. the dog …. so I will not let the "cat bag";)

  8. Smiley says:

Yes you can. my sister is a nun and sisters care for stray animals that happen in the house all the time so a priest would be no different. Just remember to take care of all animals and creations of the gods … and such.

  9. RC Dude says:

Yeah, sure. My old priest used to have a small dog named Socrates. Hump my leg was going up to communion and stuff. Really annoying. I would not recommend it, JK.

  10. Jack Flow says:

Why a dog? Being a little fort near the church. I do not think I would.
Maybe a monkey. Plenty of room to climb and so human like.

  11. Vee~ says:

Sure, why not - not because of Lonliness but because, like everyone else, you might like dogs or cats … … … or fish or birds (sorry, sorry, I'm not a priest, a Catholic)
      God bless back Atcha!

A former pastor had a dog. It's actually quite common for pastors and priests to maintain "relatively" pet low maintenance.

He derramado lágrimas por sacerdotes católicos, como se les niega de hacer uso de los instrumentos dotados de Dios por las necesidades creativas. Please do not be angry with me when I say that natural impulses are forced to do unnatural things to minimal human satisfaction. .
