Zen is short for Zen Buddhism. It's sometimes called a religion and sometimes called a philosophy. Choose the term you want, but simply does not matter.
as meditation taught in Buddhism is primarily about the discovery of who we really are, which goes far beyond our mortal body.

Very open and definitely someone who is close to the divine that can not only adhere to their own religious beliefs, theology and philosophy, but added a spiritual practice for your life that helps them in their own spiritual practice that actually comes from another religion (after all, is still in Catholic belief, only by a certain type of meditation).
Actually I know many people who do this. Take a practice of a religion, and adopt it and mold it to fit their own spiritual practice. They do not change their beliefs, theology, philosophy … and just to add a practice they consider beneficial to them spiritually.

At first it was confusing because they are so different. but I believe that meditation is like prayre and revitalizes the body and soul. cool.
