The burning of witches was incredibly rare in films and books Europe.Subsequent used the event as a form of sensationalism in the story and pasted. For example, in the United Kingdom recent research suggests between 8 and 15 people were usually burned. They witches were persecuted in the village. The were often very eccentric old women. Some of them were just too old to leave and was some of those who burned at the stake, but it is very rare occurrence.Even Joan of Arc was burned at the stake as the history suggests. In that she died in prison. Catholic countries were enjoyed slow torture worse. They half to kill anyone unusual. They absolutely brutal

Well, I am not sure that Catholic / Protestant countries are you talking about, Ireland and England, but come to mind. Ireland was the home of the Celts, who were pagan, but converted to Catholicism, because I thought that was a bad idea to make an enemy of God. Therefore, the pagan rituals still exist, and those were the same rituals of the women were being burned at the stake for. There are probably other reasons too, but that's what you think!

I did not know this was true, but the Catholics were living next to the pagan religions and even has long included many of their traditions, there is very little difference between witchcraft and Catholicism from what I saw. The Protestants were very purist, not Catholicism, because of their idol worship even though they were so obviously Christian pagan idols to worship idols even more offencive to them.
