Why do Catholics believe that it is better to pray to Mary or a saint instead of going straight to the source, God?

The Bible says there is one mediator between God and man and that is His Son Jesus.
My question is for Catholics, if the Bible gives him permission to come to the throne of God and the room to present their petitions to Him, why go anywhere else? You have written permission to go to the throne room of King of Kings and ask directly for what you need. Why did you bother someone who is beneath him? That's like saying that they have direct access to the president, but rather to ask her mother instead. Oh and you are dead!
Furthermore, when praying to someone other than God, do you mean you do not believe that He is able to respond to the prayers of everyone, as if it really needs all these dead saints to do their job?

You have to understand that we do not pray to Mary and / or of the Saints as a final act. We pray to them to ask God to pray for us.
Look at it this way. . . Have you ever been sick or ill and asked a friend to pray for you (or a loved one)?
That is basically what we as Catholics are doing when we pray to Mary or a saint. We are asking them which are in heaven and can see God directly, to join us in praying for our intentions.
Has always known that we are free to go directly to God with our prayers, but prayers are not best served by having more people join in?
I hope I have answered your question. If not, please post more and I will answer your questions to the best of my abilities.

Do not think it is better to pray to Mary to the saints, but they do sometimes. I guess they see it as writing a letter to your congressman and not the president …?

First, not only assert that the Bible says things. give chapter and verse otherwise I will assume you are doing above.
Secondly, the number of people who have direct access to the president cree you not talk to his secretary, advisers, etc.
Third, Mary is not dead. Read the Bible.
Fourthly, there is no need for the saints to do their job? No. Is there a need for the angels to do their job? No. You did Michael need to fight the demons of hell for him? No. God does not even need to pray at all. and yet …

You are misinterpreting our prayers to Mary and the saints. Mary, Mother of God, is the person who is the closest to Jesus, the 2nd Person of the Holy Trinity. For this reason, it is the most powerful intercessor must Aour matter of wants and needs. As far as the saints are concerned, have already made the sky, so to pray so that we can interface the same way that the way Mary.
Activities praying (talking) directly to God in our prayers every day, but some of us also pray to Mary and the saints. This does not mean they are skeptical of the ability of God to provide our wishes and needs.Nothing is impossible for God.

  5. WC says:

Mary is considered the queen of heaven and the implication is that she has some high office equal to or greater than Jesus himself. There is only one other religion that had a woman as "queen of heaven" and was Isis in ancient Egypt.
If we were going to pray for people who probably should pray for Elizabeth as well. God visited him and gave him a son 6 months before Mary.

It is a way to focus, developed to help people in less developed countries often channel their thoughts towards something / someone who could not understand or comprehend. True, some people may seem to pray to Mary or a saint, but only God knows their intentions and what and who are really praying for. Why some Christians use crosses? Which can not be seen as a sign of idolatry, a charm to prevent evil spirits or omens? No, it is a symbol of their faith in God and Christ's sacrifice. A physical reminder of the obligation and the spiritual life that awaits us after this physical.

Because they are idolaters, worshiping a false religion.

  8. Akiva says:

Good question! You can ask the pope - any pope - or any person in the clergy, but I doubt that you will be satisfied with the answer / s you get from them either. Good luck! Lol.
And as a follow-up consultation, ask why your book of catechism to require that they have to worship them and their relics, too ..

  9. Arf Bee says:

Put it this way. Everyone has access directly to the Source. This means a large volume of requests and prayers all who are subject to supervision or not it should be granted and cross-referenced with the Grand Design of God for you in the Grand Scheme of Things. Now, that is waiting in a very long line.
By analogy (that even a close approximation to the volume), in theory, all Americans have access to the President to vote for. He is the president and can tell how their country will be better or what is wrong with it and what you can do to improve it. You can wait in line while all the cards that you accumulate Or if you have access to your Chief of Staff, may request that you put your letter on the top of the stack. If it is, he does. And your letter or respond faster.
And please be more respectful of the Virgin Mary, you do not want anybody to talk about his mother with such disrespect.

All the answers you question thats needed.I under you.But i once was a Catholic. Now came to know the Bible and its power.

  11. shibujos says:

The Bible does not say to pray for one another? So what is wrong with asking a saint in heaven to pray for you? It is as if a father died and they knew they were in heaven and prayed and asked them to pray for you. It is completely natural and of the Scriptures.
Aron, you are idolatrous: worship that you, not you. . .

  12. thriller says:

You might as well pray to your "Capt.Kirk" Star Trek Action Figure by all the good that will do you! Or what about Barbie? Yeah! Now that the right of my alley! Do you think you can dress in their attire MATTEL nice pagan? How can a high priest Ken? View … this is a bit ridiculous, do not you think ???????????????????????

  13. snoopyyo says:
