Why does the Catholic Church is struggling to find priests?

I think a lot of that has to do with perception.
The Catholic Church is getting a lot of bad press, the alleged cover-up of "secrets" of his life to children sexual abuse (and face, no one wants to be associated with child molestors - Although not all preists disturbed children, the perception is there.)
Another would be the sacrifice. The culture of today does not put the same value in any sacrifice we make, for example, even 20 years ago.
A minister for less than $ 30,000 - the cost of basic subsistence, they are not allowed to marry and who are "on call" 24 / 7 for hospital visits, counseling, deaths and the occasional "crazy" that needed. That is too much to ask someone.
I am Catholic, and really want to enter the priesthood, but since I'm already married, I can not - so I'm looking at the "next best thing" the Deaconate.

You have to make many sacrifices to become a priest. Sex and money in the car and most people are not allowed in the priesthood. They live under the poverty level. It can be very lonely at times. It's getting hard to find men to put Jesus first in their lives.

Do not get married, they are not really paid any money excpet the basic costs.

So many are getting some publicity about their sexual preferences and all the bad vibes that kind of put a dent in their recruitment.

They are not allowed to marry might be a reason. Another reason is that only men can be priests. I think if you open the doors to these two ideas would have more priests.

Because the priesthood is like a marriage and career, all in one. It is a vocation and the humility and servitude, and (yes, we will include a) abstinence and poverty.
Entering the priesthood is not like becoming an accountant and the sacrifices involved, most people do not feel attracted to him.

First, being a priest is a lifelong obligation with some heavy counts the votes. Probably also has something to do with how the church is merging with the society. Now the company is popular Catholicism attacks (for some good reasons, but to award the reasoning ignorance trolley). It is difficult for a man in today's society to accept something that is both challenging and control.
