Why is it so common child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church?

On a per capita basis, more molestations in the Catholic church than any other church.
Why is this? Is it because the priests cannot get married and have to force themselves on the defenseless children?

It's easy to get away with it when the hierarchy supports or defends what he is doing.

<<Why Sexual abuse of children is so common in Catholic church?>>
It is not, really. It's just that the media hype makes it seem worse than it really is.
"In a per capita basis, more molestations in the Catholic church than any other church. Why is this?>>
It is not, actually. The percentage of priests known to have molested a child is about 6%. That is comparable to the number of non-Catholic Christian ministers who have abused children, comparable to the percentage of teachers who have had illicit sexual relations with students, and is also comparable to the percentage of old people in society who have committed abuse child sex.
<Why cannot <Is priests marry and have to force themselves defenseless kids?>>
No, that's ridiculous! Pedophilia is a disordered sexual inclination - but is not caused by the practice of abstinence. Any reputable journal of medicine is to abstain from sex does not cause pedophilia.

Where are your facts for you? Because studies have shown that the rate of NO is greater molestations in the Catholic church than in other churches. The rate of media coverage is higher, but not the kind of abuse.
If you knew anything about the psychosis that makes a person want to have sex with minors, you know that is not caused by not being married (there's a lot of single people in this world that does not bother children) and is not cured by marriage (there are a bunch of molestors that have much access to legal assistance, adult sex, but kids still attack).
Test run on the facts change so you can assess the situation more accurately.

    It is not.
Pedophilia among the Catholic clergy is actually lower than among the general public. The media only ensures that each case is Catholic plastered all over the place.
According to mental health professionals, is connected to pedophilia and celibacy or homosexuality.
This small group of child molesters would be so sick or ill or has not taken a vow of celibacy.

In reality the facts are incorrect. In reality the facts are the opposite of their claims. Molestations fewer per capita than any other Christian group. Catholic priests are the least likely of all the clergy, by a wide margin, to commit sexual abuse. Thus, the facts destroy the theory of the discipline of celibacy is a factor. If something is a positive factor. Even the school teaches and family members are more likely to be addicts. God bless!

  6. Paul says:

I live in a predominantly Catholic country and the sexual abuse of children by Catholic priests is almost nonexistent. What is more common, although I would say that even in the minority, there are some priests who have sex with women and children, including parenting. Again, this is a small percentage of the priesthood. You have to remember that priests are human and commit sins.

  7. tebone03 says:

Being celibate does not cause pedophilia .. Pedophilia is a mental illness. Most pedophiles in the world are married men. A child has 97% more likely to be bothered at home, school, sport or team, or day care after the Catholic Church or any church for that matter.

  8. Soldier4 says:

Why are so unintelligent trolling common issues between the idiots like you?
Is it because you are full and failures is a sort of pathetic attempt to compensation?
Oh and by the way, by paying attention only to pedophiles who fit that archetype prepackaging is allowing those who do not slip through the cracks. Just thought you should know.

It occurs widely in non-Catholic churches, more than in Catholic churches. U.S. just like the media to the Catholic Church because it is the largest available scapegoat.
My diocese has had a policy of child sexual abuse since long before the "Catholic priest scandal emerged.
Allowing married priests will not solve the problem of child sexual abuse.

  10. Gods child says:

It is actually less than 1 per cent 3. The media had a field day with this. It is the only institution that has publicly apologized for the scandal. The problem exists on a much larger number of Protestant institutions and other institutions in the world, but not hear them
