Firstly ignore the hate speech that is spread by CJ and Karl. If you want to understand what they believe need to ask Catholic Catholics, and Catholic reading material. This website is a good place to start.http: / / http://www.catholic.com

  2. blah says:

in the most basic theological definition, Protestants believe in sola scriptura. the idea that only needs the Bible.
also believe that praying to the Trinity, some even are Trinitarian Christians.
Catholics and Orthodox believe in the holy tradition and the holy church.
not "worship" the saints and Mary, who worship as they believe they are due respect.
      basically looks like this:
= Protestante given a bike and have to learn to walk on their own.
= Catholics and Orthodox is a bike and a trainer for that spot.
Sorry, this is not meant to be offensive, I am trying to answer your question.

Doctrine. Preachers Catholics call their "Father which is in violation of the commandment of Christ.
Mat 23:9 And call no man your father on earth: for one is your Father who is in heaven.
Pray to Mary is a violation of the commandments of Christ.
Luk 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, for example, Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done as in heaven so on earth.
Forbid its ministers to marry, which is another violation of the Bible, but has fulfilled the prophecy.
      1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in recent times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils;
      1Ti 4:2 is speaking in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with gratitude those who believe and know the truth.
This is just a few of many that separates Christianity from Catholicism.

There are several important differences in the interpretation of Scripture … including beliefs about the concept of the Triune God. The best way for you to know is to sign on to a Catholic site and really investigate their basic beliefs. I will not try to tell you that one (but) is right. You will have to judge for yourself. Like all religious differences between those who use the Bible as their guide, the interpretation is the key. I also realized that a more above script to show your point of view, but I have also seen another script to show the Catholic view …. It is much safer than just rely on God and do what he believes is telling you to do … and not worry about anyone else.

  5. Gryphon Noir says:

The differences between Catholicism and Protestantism are less a question of theology, and more a matter of culture that has grown around them.
There are actually three main divisions of North America. Catholic, Protestant, and Congregational. Really true Protestants protested against something. Lutherans would be a good example of a true Protestant.
That leaves Anglicans / Episcopalians, as they left the Roman Church through political means, so they are not Roman Catholics, although most see themselves as Protestants.
Similarly, it would be inaccurate to say that Baptists are evangelicals and other Protestants. They are not. Its origins are in an individualistic point of view, which emerged in the 1830s in the United States.
All these cultures have been influencing the way that his followers read the Bible, which often demonized by inference to other denominations.
Undoubtedly, you will get a series of responses that show that much better than I could!

Therefore, the dose and satan Mormon and Jehovah witnesses.
"But I do not know what else to say accept that Protestants do not pray to all the saints and virgin Mary.
      "
It is a great type of Issus.

  7. Study. says:

Please do not ask anything about them. Just tell you to visit your place of worship once. which might prevent the asking.
It sounds as if you were to weaken to join them. Do not let them intimidate you think they are doing something special .. (not special. just wrong.).
Catholicism is an apostate religion that uses the name of Jesus to spread false propaganda through the use of costume to represent purity. (Wolves in HOJAS clothes.
To keep the people more fascinated by the size of the statues which can neither speak nor see. Why one wants to talk and pray to a statue? Body is not reading the scriptures. Body does not follow the doctrine of Jesus. That religion is in itself and of course it will fall.
      Still looking.

  8. Ariel R says:

There are many differences between the two.
One major difference is something that is called transubstantiation which is basically the belief that crackers and wine that you eat into the body becomes the flesh and blood of Christ. This is believed to be symbolic in Protestantism, and Catholicism, cree be transformed into reality within you.
Martin Luther is credited with the birth of Protestantism.

To give the most accurate and have no space on this form, go to Luther's 95 theses (and I am sure you can access it on the Internet.) This is what Martin Luther posted a revolt against the Catholic Church. This is what I use when the Protestants, mainly objecting to the Catholic faith. Type Luther received the ball rolling.

Sooooooooooooo there is much to explain about the answer. Here is a website that tells the Protestant Catholicism about what it really is. Is without prejudice and attempts to explain in terms that may be familiar to you. http://www.davidmacd.com/catholic/index2
      It is a good read.

  12. CJ says:

Catholicism is false and teaches a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1:6-9).
Catholicism = faith + works = no salvation and eternal torment in hell
Christian = ONLY FAITH IN JESUS FOR SALVATION = salvation and eternity in heaven with Jesus:)

  13. cheir says:

There are many differences between Roman Catholics and Protestants, the most important because of the belief that the resident coordinator is the salvation by faith and works - Protestants believe that salvation is by faith alone [Romans 3:28].

  14. yohanest says:

If you both believe in Christ ….
The only problem is … believing in Christ is not enough to enter heaven …
I suggest you to read Matthew 7:21-23 and 25:31-46 …
God bless you and your friends!

  15. Karl P says:

Would be "born again", and "faith" part. (Catholicism: the man in their attempt to reach God. True Christianity: God, in his attempt to reach the man.) Period! <')))><

  16. Daver says:

<<Why are Protestants and Catholics to different?>>
They are not really all that different.
      <<and ¿por do not agree so much?>>
Those who "disagree" out of their ways of being in pain $#$@' s they are. Each of them think their's is the correct demonination, and there is nothing wrong with that. It's just that, assuming they want to attract people to their respective denominations, berating others because its name is not how.
<<I am a Protestant and all my friends all Catholics, but when people ask me what I am a Protestant response to im me and ask how it works but I really do not think that Christians / Protestants that Catholics are different from i mean that both believe in Jesus, right?>>
Exactly. The doctrinal differences between Catholics and Protestants do not relate to the main dogmas of that really defined as a Christian. You always notice the "small" dogma that Catholics and Protestants to discuss more, right?
<<but i really do not know what else decir, accept that Protestants do not pray to all the saints and virgins Mary.>>
Intercessory prayer is Biblical. The evidence that is the whole Bible. This is not just a "Book of Maccabee thing." Even then, Catholics are not obliged to participate in intercessory prayer. It is simply there for those who want to take advantage of this powerful form of prayer.
<<could someone please help me out?>>
As far as concerns their Catholic friends, I guess it just the simple weight of his comments with a mixture of humor and thick skin. Certainly, the loss of their dignity will not help the situation - especially if / when outraged at first.
It seems that while the Catholic friends of what Catholics believe, does not seem as if they know why. Neither seem to understand why Protestants believe what they believe.
As for you, you are not Catholic, so you will not know everything and Catholicism. That is understandable.
It might help if you understand some Catholics. For example, why Catholics have intercessory prayer. http://www.scripturecatholic.com is a good website that explains the origin of the Catholic Biblical beliefs and practices that many non-Catholic Christians is not Biblical thinking.
As for them, I guess it does not hurt to learn a little about Protestant Christianity, and some more about what Catholicism teaches that hurts so much.
The point of departure is not an opportunity to convince them of anything, and vice versa. So why bother arguing at all? Civil discussion is always welcome. Maybe you can try appealing to his Catholic friends at this level.
Oh, and advice to read the Catechism of the Catholic Church. If you look like you have three heads. . . as I eluded to before, you may need to learn more about Catholicism that even think they know! Do not be afraid to explore for themselves.

  17. http://w says:

    1) why the Protestants and Catholics are so different?
In reality, they are * very * similar in most of their beliefs. Although I am a fundamentalist Christian, I recommend you read all Christians Catholic Catechism. Most common Christian beliefs are explained in detail, with scripture references provided. It's the best thing to the Bible for an understanding of the most widely-held Christian doctrines.
      2) and why they disagree so much?
Do not agree, in general, more than a few minor problems - but the differences are insurmountable. In other words, the group is unwilling to give ground. You do not have to go as far as Roman Catholics, however: the Protestants have the same insurmountable differences between them, and have since Lutheranism and Calvinism sought to join forces against the Roman Catholic Church (the meeting ended in violent disagreement).
      3) Protestants do not pray to all the saints and virgin Mary.
Most do not, that is correct. However, some Protestant sects (Lutherans and Anglicans, for example) - and all of the Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox sects, and - are also saints.
I recommend that you read the Roman Catholic Catechism. It is * very * long - but well worth it. First, make sure it is well grounded in their faith. You will find many of the doctrines (eg, some of which refer to Mary) is contrary to theirs. That's fine - if you are a scholar, I think you'll find that most of these are not the salvation breakers. What I mean is:
example: Roman Catholics believe that Mary was born through what are called "Immaculate Conception" - in other words, she was born without sin (without original sin).
Now, if you believe it - although it seems to contradict Scripture - will lose their salvation, to believe this? On the other hand, if you * do not * think that - he will lose his salvation?
I think it is - like me - there are no differences that are "salvation offenders." I find some of the Catholic beliefs to be contrary to Scripture. But every believer in the Bible, and only what is in the Bible is * not * a requirement for salvation. I think that once you have read the Catholic Catechism, you will realize that Roman Catholics are as Christian as you or I, although some of their beliefs are not "according to Scripture."

  18. Craig R says:

There is a radical difference in a lot of areas.
Protestants believe in salvation by faith alone. Cree that Catholics have to work hard to win the favor of God and be saved.
Protestants believe Jesus died once and for all. Catholics call him symbolically descend from heaven into the body to be sacrificed again week after week. Therefore it is necessary that the bread and wine actually become the body and blood of Jesus - who think they have to sacrifice your body and shed his blood every time that the mass for forgiveness.
Protestants have no authority but the Bible. Catholic than the Pope over the Bible and on top of you and me.
Protestants believe that they have direct access to God. Catholics believe you need a priest to intercede. That is why we have confessionals.
Catholics elevate Mary above Jesus. She is the Queen of Heaven. He is her son.
      Etc.
However, I am sure that you and your friends are very similar because most Protestants and Catholics are only nominally. Neither knows what they believe is reflected in his question. So in a way, you're right - there is no difference: both have only nominally Christian. :-)
