Why Protestants do not believe Mary was herself immaculately conceived?
What is the reason to go against the Catholic faith when it broke from the Catholic Church?
- Mary (not Jesus) was conceived in "Immaculate Conception"?
- Why did the Blessed Virgin Mary, the visit only Catholics but Protestants their visions OO Jews Others?
- Catholics and Protestants, Did you know that Martin Luther's Deep devotion to the Virgin Mary?
- The Catholic Mary and HTTP Question: Did you know that I really learned something from you?
- Why Protestants seem to miss Mary? ?

The Constitution Ineffabilis Deus of December 8, 1854, Pius IX pronounced and defined that the Blessed Virgin Mary "in the first instance of her conception, by a singular privilege and grace granted by God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ the Savior of mankind, was preserved exempt from all stain of original sin. "
St. Augustine in the 5th century was towing the Catholic theological line.
"In refuting Pelagius St. Augustine declares that the whole truth only known sin," except the Holy Virgin Mary, of whom, for the honor of the Lord, I have no doubt that any sin is concerned "( on nature and grace, 36).
While not become official doctrine until after the reform …. It is clearly accepted and taught by the "sensus fidelium" Orthodox theology as correct from the start of the development of Catholic dogma.
There are writings of Augustine earlier saying this to help here; http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07674d.h …
Each new Protestant sect creates its own theology based on the beliefs of its founder. In most cases reject all theological scholarship that came before. Most Protestant sects are less than one hundred years and many are less than a generation old. For babies who are theologically compared to 2000 years of history of the Church of Christ. Just have a gap in the academic and theological maturity when compared with the fullness of truth contained in the Catholic Church. Unfortunately between Protestants often there is no surveillance and all sorts of heresies and false teachings are taught and proud of having created their own sect and theology that often leave out important theological concepts that are beyond the intellect or training his pastor and not to admit their confusion. Sound education is replaced with blustery rhetoric and condemnation of those who are theologically mature. The truth is that it was necessary that the Son of God to be born of a pure and sinless, as the ship of the Immaculate Conception is an integral part of God's plan for the redemption of mankind. Dana, look at the Eternal City of God by Venerable Mary of Agreda (version) is very good information there on the Immaculate Conception of Mary, and their younger years.
Oh and I can not remember if it was our belief in dogma at the time of the reform or not. Somehow I think it predates it, though.
Some do and some even pray the rosary. For those who do not accept the Immaculate Conception of Mary, one word: Satan.
In response to Cosmos "answer above, it became official in 1854 but has been debated for hundreds of years before. Mary used this title in her apparitions to St. Bernadette in Lourdes.
God bless!

Because no where in the ancient scriptures of the Old Testament or New Testament scripture that remotely indicates that "Mary herself was immaculately conceived.
Where no.
However, Christ himself was an immaculate conception. God can do what he wants and if He wants a man in his image and presence in this world to save us? So that's exactly what you want to do is exactly what He has done. No man is the Father of Jesus the Christ, anyone.
Because they are sola scriptura. Van only what is written in the Bible, although the Bible does not get together until 3 centuries after Jesus' death and you will find anywhere in the man made the doctrine of sola scriptura support. Have left all of the teaching done by the apostles and early church fathers who were taught by the Apostles.
First one thing clear: the Immaculate Conception refers to the idea that Mary, the mother of Jesus was conceived without sin - this is NOT the same as the Virgin birth.
The Immaculate Conception is a Catholic tradition, along with the idea of eternal virginity of Mary is intact and the Assumption (a perfect name for that, by the way). NOTE: Mary's parents are never mentioned in the Gospels, but that Catholics seem to think it was called Joachim and Ann is surprising how much we Catholics know, right?
Catholics do not tend to reject these ideas because they are not mentioned anywhere in the Gospels. There is an idea that since "you can only breed perfect perfect," then God must somehow be assured that the mother of his son was without sin, and yes, this is entirely possible since all things are possible with God . However, if all things are possible with God, then it is equally possible that Mary was a sin as any other human being (except Jesus), as Mary herself did not offer and the Bible says " all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, "but the Bible does not say," All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, with the exception of Mary, Jesus' mother because she was immaculately conceived. "
I am Catholic but I am not hung up on this ridiculous notion, because the reality of life is: God's plan of salvation for me and any other human being has nothing to do with Mary's sex life after Jesus born, has nothing to with whether or not Mary was immaculately conceived, and has nothing to do with whether or not Mary was "assumed" body and soul into heaven. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. " Jesus said nothing about having to believe in certain traditions of his mother to get to heaven.
Now I realize that my answer is going to anger many of my fellow Catholics out there, and may refer to me as a "Cafeteria Catholic" but frankly I do not know why you would be angry with me. If you believe that God will not let me in heaven because I put very little credit on several "sacred traditions of the Catholic Church, then I must remind you of another biblical quotation:" Judge not others lest ye be judged yourself " ;.
The peace of Christ to all of you. Have a blessed day!

To be fair Martin Luther believed many traditional beliefs about the perpetual virginity of Mary included. Wait while I quotes.
"Christ our Savior is the true and natural fruit of virginal womb of Mary … All this without the cooperation of a man, and she remained a virgin after that. "
"A new lie about me is being circulated. I am supposed to have preached and written that Mary, the Mother of God, was not a virgin either before or after the birth of Christ … "

John Calvin NOW FOR:
"Under the word" brothers "Jews include all cousins and other relatives, whatever the degree of affinity."
You mean Mary conceived / born without sin? No, this is not true.
Dana:
* We believe in the teachings of the Bible as philosophy correctly said:
*** Jesus and only Jesus was born and lived his entire life without sin physically. (Adam and Eve were created without sin, sin, but after that).
*** All the others have sinned and need a savior, including Maria.
We believe that Mary did not sin in any way in connection with his conception / pregnancy of Jesus. But we believe that like any other human being (except Jesus) who had sinned before you and after that. Probably lied to her mother, and took some coins from his father's pocket without permission.
When Jesus was praying in Gethsemane before his arrest, asked the Father for another way to save the world, found no other way. He knew from the beginning, when Jesus decides to come here to save us, he did so because he could not have been able to save the world. If Mary was immaculate then she would have the option, the parent would have had their place of sacrifice to Jesus, but you and I know that is not correct.

Emperor: Well said.
There was no requirement of God to Mary to remain a virgin after the birth of Jesus. She was married to Joseph and if they have normal sex life as a married couple who receive the blessing of God thereon. Mary of God's mission was to be the mother of Jesus and take care of him until he was ready to begin its own mission. Women have a full life of Joseph, and even other children interphere not its mission.
It's just not in their belief system.
A brief aside: I know many Catholics who do not know what the "Immaculate Conception" is good. My dad told me it smells almost the entire face to tell him was the conception of Mary, not Jesus.
We Protestants figure is only a myth that found its way into the tradition from the Church of the New Testament says that all have sinned (Romans 3:23), and the only exception that mentions Jesus (Hebrews 4:15), and said that Mary needed a Savior (Luke 1:46-47).
Only the Son of God, Jesus was conceived immaculately. Where in the Bible does not say that Mary was? No, because it was designed like you and me. God chose to be the ship on which Jesus was born.
AdoreHim, why God put Jesus in a vessel stained with original sin? If you could bring Adam and Eve in this world without sin, Mary, why not, given its role?
Probably because all references to an immaculate conception, for anyone in the Bible were added in 1850.
It was up to the Immaculate Conception Catholic dogma at the time of the Reformation?
Mary was a human being can not be like the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic claim.
They were very focused and Biblically the Bible does not mention that she ascended to heaven in body and soul.
The only person who was born without sin was Jesus. Mary was a human being.
Why would anyone believe that?
.
