Why the Orthodox and Catholics pray to Mary?
I do not understand why pray to Mary? Many Protestants say that the biblical .. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the only mediator .. I believe in the Virgin Mary as the Mother of God .. but to pray with her? I do not know how to defend this belief .. I also call on the Orthodox people .. because they share the same beliefs about Mary, except immacullate design and co-mediator is another concept I do not understand about our Mother Mary ..
- Why Catholics pray for the help of the Virgin Mary?
- Catholics ….. what is the way to salvation, and why Catholics pray to Mary, not Jesus, Explain?
- Is the Catholic / Orthodox Doctrine of Mediation heretical in any passage of the Protestant Bible?
- Why in the world Catholics pray to the statue of Mary? Where the Bible does say to pray to Mary?
- Why Catholics pray the rosary, confess their sins to priests and pray to saints?

These are in the sky Pray for us
Not only those in heaven pray with us, but also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, we read: "[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer, and was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all saints to the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God "(Rev. 8:3-4).
Fundamentalists often challenge the Catholic practice of asking the angels and saints to pray on our behalf. But the Bible directs us to invoke in the sky and ask them to pray with us.
Does the Bible Invoke in heaven to pray for us
Thus, in Psalm 103, which read, "Bless the Lord, oh to his angels, that the powerful make his word, hearkening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will "(Psalm 103:20-21). And in the opening verses of Psalms 148 we pray, "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord of the heavens, praise him in the highest! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, his welcome to all! "
Jesus himself warned us not to offend small children, because their guardian angels have guaranteed access to the intercession of the Father: "See that no one of these, to tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven "(Matthew 18:10).
Because he is the only God-man and the Mediator of the New Covenant, Jesus is the only mediator between man and God (1 Tim. 2:5), but this in no way means you can not and should not ask our fellow Christians to pray with us and for us (1 Tim. 2:1-4). In particular, we should ask the intercession of the Christians in heaven, who have already completed their sanctification, of "[t] he prayer of a man just has a great power in its effects" (Jas. 5:16).
"But is not the high priest [Christ] alone prays for those who pray sincerely, but also to the angels … As well as the souls of saints who have fallen asleep
Rom 6:3-4
Or do you know who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? In fact, we were buried with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was resurrected from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life.
Col 2:12
Who were buried with him in baptism, which were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.
Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all saints, saints, and to me that the expression can be given at the opening of the mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, which may declare boldly, as I speak "(Ephesians 6:18-20).
"First, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be for all men, for kings and all those in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men be saved and come to the knowledge of truth "(1 Timothy 2:1-4).
But the Bible does not say that Jesus is the only Mediator between God and man?
A: Yes, in 1 Timothy 2:5 ( "For there is one God and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"), but just to cite the four verses immediately preceding it, and you will remember that Paul said to them: "I ask that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be for all men."
Therefore, the fact that Jesus is the only Mediator between God and men does not prevent other people to act as intercessors. And we certainly do not displa intercessory prayer to God in the passage just quoted, Paul says: "This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior
I am sometimes surprised how the people can jump up and down what Paul says in 1 Timothy 2:5, and yet lose the subject of intercessory prayer, not only is the theme of the last four verses , but the segue into the discussion of Jesus only Mediatorship.
Secondly, he is the only Mediator between God and man because he is the Mediator of the New Covenant, in which we obtain salvation. This sense of their unique Mediatorship, however, does not prevent other people to be mediators in a parallel sense, Moses is described as the mediator of the Old Covenant (Galatians 3:19-20), as Jesus is the Mediator the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:6, 9:15, 12:24, note that the Greek word used in Galatians and Hebrews passages, tables = mediator, is the same as in 1 Timothy 2:5). However, from the Mosaic covenant is now extinct, leaving only Jesus as the Mediator pact today.
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so you ma" Then one of the elders [who represent the hierarchy of the people of God in heaven] is about me, saying "Who are these, clothed in white garments, and where they come from? "I said, 'Lord, you know." And he told me:' These are the ones who came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb "(Revelation 7: 13-14).
"[A] nd they [the elders] sang a new song, saying," You are worthy to take the book and open its seals, for you were slain and with your blood you surrender to God and men of every tribe, tongue and people and nation and you made a kingdom and priests to our God, and reign on earth ' "(Revelation 5:9-10).
"Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were strong voices in heaven, saying:" The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ [this tells us that the voices of humans ], and they shall reign for ever and ever "(Revelation 11:15).
"And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying:" We thank you, Lord God Almighty, which art and wast, you've taken your great power and has begun to reign. The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, for rewarding your servants the prophets and saints, and those who fear thy name, small and large, and for destroying the destroyers of earth ' "(Revelation 11:16-18).
"And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying," Now the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren [this indicates that there is a voice human] has been launched, which accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, since it did not love their lives unto death. Rejoice then, O heaven and you that dwell in him, but woe to thee, land and sea for the devil has come down to you with great wrath because he knows that his time is short! ' "(Revelation 12:10-12).
After this I heard what appeared to be the voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and righteous, who has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants. "Once
How do you know that the saints in heaven are praying for us
"And Onias spoke, saying: 'This is a man who loves the brethren and prays much for the people and the holy city, Jeremiah, the prophet of God" (2 Maccabees 15:14).
What makes you think that the saints can hear our prayers?
A: The one just quoted verses. Needless to say, for example, that our guardian angels are aware of what we are doing. It is their job to protect us, after all, so you can be sure they know what they are doing and when asked to pray for us.
And in the same way, when we read of the saints in heaven offering our prayers to God in the form of incense (Revelation 5:8, 8:3-4), we know that they are aware of our prayers.
Remember: Most of the Saints now have no physical bodies. Would not have prayer request cards physical or natural incense or something. This means that when you present the image of God with our prayers, which are not physically presenting him with our prayers, so it must be presented to him mentally. But if you are mentally present our prayers to God, then they should be aware of our prayers.
We (Orthodox) charge:
The Church Militant (the living)
and
The Church Triumphant (the dead).
You are asking another member of the church to pray for yourself as if you were asking a member of his own congregation / parish to pray (intercede) for you. That is why they are called "intercessory prayer."
to pray to Mary to tell her of Jesus and needs our prayers. Mary is the mother of Jesus so that he hears the better for it. Also from Mary is our mother, isn't it natural to turn to her mother in time of need? That is why we turn to Mary. We also pray to Mary because Jesus told us, then Jesus is our Savior and Lord, it is natural to follow what he says.
The starting point is John 19, 26 .. 27, and an understanding of the disciple whom Jesus loved … (I think it is not a monk …)
Holy Mother calls us "His children," as if it were the same as the disciple whom Jesus loved …
Likewise, the Holy Mother is a woman so she was peace ……. etc. ..
So .. her mother is a special because he knows how we can have the peace of God ………..
Consecrated to Christ as his Mother Our Mother, while he was dying on the Cross (Gospel according to John, chapter 19, verses 26-27).
Therefore, I ask you to intercede with her Divine Son for us.
Saints are still alive and that's why we ask thm to pray for us. A little secret-with the practices and teachings of the Orthodox Church would not have Bible-as Christ came to start The Church does not write a book.
Are you really a Catholic or Orthodox? hmmmm … hey, I have a better idea, try to atheism!
Jesus is our one and only mediator. Intercession is different.
"Teach us to pray," he told the disciples of Jesus. (Luke 11, 1)
Jesus responded by teaching them the prayer we call the Our Father or the Lord's Prayer.
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as in heaven.
Giving USA this day our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses U.S.
as we forgive those who trespass against USA.
U.S. and lead not into temptation,
but deliver U.S. evil.
The entire second part of the Lord's prayer is intercessory prayer in which prays for us and others (us, our).
Christians pray for others and the world is intercessory prayer and is accepted and practiced by all Christan denominations (that I know of).
Before Jesus Christ died for our sins and opened the gates of heaven there are no saints in heaven. Therefore, there is no written mention of the Old Testament.
Very few of the new Christians died before most of the New Testament was written. Therefore there is little in the Bible about asking saints to pray for us.
However, the last book of the Bible does not speak of the saints in heaven praying.
Revelation 5:8: Each of the elders held a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
Revelation 8:3-4: He was given a large quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. The smoke of incense with the prayers of the saints ascended before God from the angel's hand.
The Holy Spirit guided the early Church in many things not explained in the Bible including the manner in which the Body of Christ (believers) living on Earth relate to the Body of Christ (saints) living in the sky . We are still one Body.
We share the view of Catholics in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When it dies and goes to heaven, do not let this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary, the mother of Jesus, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II.
As part of this family, you can ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or, you can also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
Ask others to pray for you if your loved ones on Earth or your loved ones in heaven is always optional.

With love in Christ.
Mary is our Mother and Queen of Spain David New
John 19:26 - Jesus Mary, Mother of us all as He dies on the Cross saying, "Behold your mother." Jesus did not say "John, behold your mother" and that Mary gave all us, his beloved disciples. All the words that Jesus spoke on the Cross had a divine purpose. Jesus is not just telling John to care for her mother.
Rev. 12:17 - this verse shows the meaning of John 19:26. The "woman" (Mary) are the children who follow Jesus. She is our Mother and we are their progeny in Jesus Christ. The master plan of God's covenant love for us is the family. But we can not be a complete family with the fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Christ Motherhood of Mary.
John 2:3 - that is a very significant verse from Scripture. As our mother, Mary tells us all to do what Jesus says. In addition, the intercession of Mary at the wedding of Cana triggers the ministry of Jesus and a foreshadowing of the Eucharistic celebration of the Lamb. This celebration unites all believers in a famiy through marriage of divinity and humanity.
John 2:7 - Jesus allows his mother to intercede for the people in his name, and responds to the request of his mother's service order to fill the jars with water.
Psalm 45:9 - the psalmist teaches that the Queen is on the right hand of God. The role of the Queen is important in the kingdom of God. Mary, Queen of Heaven is on the right hand of the Son of God.
1 Kings 2:17, 20 - David in the Old Testament kingdom, the king does not refuse to his mother. Jesus is the new King David, and he does not reject the requests of his mother Mary, the Queen.
1 Kings 2:18 - David in the Old Testament kingdom, Queen intercedes on behalf of supporters of the King. She is the queen mother (or "Gebirah). Mary is our eternal Gebirah.
1 Kings 2:19 - in the Old Testament King David reign arches her mother and she sits on his right hand. We, as children of the New Covenant, we should imitate the King and pay tribute to Mary our Mother. In honor of Mary, we honor our King, Jesus Christ.
1 Kings 15:13 - The Queen Mother is a position of real power in the monarchy of Israel. Here the queen is removed. But now, the kingdom of David is perfected by Jesus and Mary is our Mother forever in his right hand.
2 Chron. 22:10 - here the Queen Mother Athalia destroys the royal family of Judah after she sees her son, King Ahaziah killed. Queen mother played an important role in the kingdom.
Neh. 2:6 - the Queen Mother sits beside the King. She is the principal intercessor before the King.
Scripture is not the main thrust of the Roman Church, and therefore many false teachings and doctrines have passed.
Praying to Mary is one of these false teachings.
Argues that the Roman Church does not pray to Mary, thank you for your honesty and heavenly vision of the error of their teachings.
But what is left to do is pray and read your Bible to find the truth.
Remember that all reap what we sow. . .
What is planted and cultivated in the heart of our actions is what occurred at the time of harvest.
If you want to follow the truth, then you can not plant the seeds of deception and false doctrine in his heart.
The truth can only be found in the following way of Christ and the Holy Scriptures of the Almighty.
We are not responsible for the Almighty and his son to follow a false church or a pope, so no.
Follow the only one who can save it and that my dear is the Almighty God through His Beloved Christ.
The Almighty has mercy in his heart to this false teaching of the Roman church - they stick to it.
Evil will never be law.
Incorrect doctrine will never be correct.
Christ died to give you the opportunity to be saved and once again led the conference with the Almighty.
We do not need, nor are we told by the only authority worth listening to and then pray to Mary, so no.
In His Mighty Name I pray that the Blessed
