    Space captain http://www.vatican.va/archive/catechism Hello ((((((( )))))))
According to the link above ..
      Mary - "ever virgin"
499 The deepening of faith in the virginal motherhood led the Church to confess the real and perpetual virginity of Mary, even in the act of giving birth to the Son of God made man.
154 In fact, the birth of Christ "does not diminish his mother's virginal integrity but sanctified it."
155 and so the liturgy of the Church celebrates Mary as Aeiparthenos, the "Ever-virgin"
500 Against this doctrine the objection is sometimes raised that the Bible mentions brothers and sisters of Jesus.
157 The Church has always understood these passages as not referring to other children of the Virgin Mary. In fact James and Joseph, "brothers of Jesus are the sons of another Mary, a disciple of Christ, whom St. Matthew significantly calls" the other Mary ".
158 are close relations of Jesus, according to an Old Testament expression.
501 Jesus is the only son of Mary, but her spiritual motherhood extends to all men whom indeed he came to save: "The Son, who gave birth is he whom God placed as the firstborn among many brethren, is say, the faithful in whose generation and formation which cooperates with a mother's love. "

I'm not here to judge anyone .. but asked ~ Love ~
      In Jesus Precious Name ..
With ~ Love ~ your "friend" in Christ .. :)

    Really.
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
"The deepening of faith in the virginal motherhood led the Church to confess the real and perpetual virginity of Mary, even in the act of giving birth to the Son of God made man."
      That is paragraph 499.
      Definitely official.
One can argue that disagreed with him, but you can not argue that Catholic doctrine is not official. A little research is a good thing.
Edit: Man, talk about hair causes in the "thumbs down". Given that I have not argued this, just pointed out the error in stating that our questioner is not doctrine.

The perpetual virginity of Mary official doctrinal teaching is binding on the universal Christian Church. As such it is bound in heaven (if you believe the Bible). No Christian in this land certainly made until the start of sectarian religion unauthorized man a few hundred years ago. Just one of many truths rejected by the followers of this tradition, which exists in defiance of the declared will of God, "they all be one." Shows how far it can deviate from the truth once they reject the Bible "the pillar and foundation of truth", the true Church of Christ founded for all mankind. It also demonstrates the folly of trying to find the truth through the free interpretation of the early Catholic writings in the Bible.
Yes, the Bible does not mention the "brothers" (brothers) of Jesus. For example, after his resurrection, he appeared to more than 500 siblings (brothers) in a while. " These 500 were children of Mary and Joseph??

Apocraphyl do cite some texts, such as Protovagelism Santiago.
But in doing so, create other problems in these texts contradict the Gospels on other facts.
The problem is the pretext, why does it remain a virgin throughout her life if she is married? It's something sinful about sex between a man and his wife? Is God somehow can not work miracles with women than ever have sex?

  5. Light and Truth says:

    No.
      Mark 6:3
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they took offense at him.
Jesus grew up in a family like most of us. It was the oldest.

  6. rac says:

The New Testament clearly states that Joseph "knew" of Mary after the birth of Jesus and who had brothers and sisters. James, one of his brothers, became an apostle after the resurrection.

  7. Rom16:16 says:

Mary did not remain a virgin. He married and had children with Joseph. If she would have refused to her husband, she would be committing a sin because God made the two one, your body belongs to her, her body belongs to him.

  8. Mim says:

certainly a lie from the beginning was to marry a virgin when she became pregnant and technically at birth but after she had a husband and other children for any way to stay a virgin until death.

  9. Scumspaw says:

This question is answered brilliantly in the movie "Dogma." And although the Bible says that Mary and Joseph it on.

  10. WeAreAll says:

I'm surprised that does not appear more often why she was a virgin to begin with, despite being married.

  11. Boilerfa says:

There is no need for it have been theologically. No doubt they have gone down in history as a bad wife …

  12. Lion of Judah Regular says:

There were other boys, James was his brother.

  13. marjo says:

perhaps until Jesus was born, but she gave birth childrens others have to say no.

  14. SPAH says:

    Women have needs too.

  15. TENELKAD says:

    No, Jesus had brothers.

  16. vine says:

    no thats nuts.

  17. Misty says:

Yes she was a virgin long life, is part of Catholic teaching and doctrine. Yes, it is the support docuements early Church:
The early Christians expressed this conviction of faith in the Greek term aeiparthenos "ever virgin", created to describe the person of Mary in a unique and effective, and to express in one word the Church's belief in her perpetual virginity. We believe it is used in the second symbol of faith made by St. Epiphanius in the year 374, in relation to the Incarnation: the Son of God became incarnate, that is, that was built in a perfect way of Mary, ever virgin, through the Holy Spirit "(Ancoratus, 119.5; DS 44).
The term "ever virgin" was considered by the Second Council of Constantinople (553), which states: the Word of God, incarnate of the holy and glorious Mother of God and ever Virgin Mary, was born from her "(DS 422 ). This doctrine is confirmed by two other ecumenical councils, the Fourth Lateran Council (1215) (DS 801) and the Second Council of Lyon (1274) (DS 852), and the wording of the definition of the dogma of the Assumption (1950 ) (DS 3903) in which the perpetual virginity of Mary is adopted as one of the reasons set out in body and soul to heavenly glory.
Here is some information about it for you:
The Catholic Church teaches that Mary was a virgin before, during and after the birth of Jesus. All Christians believe that Mary was a virgin before the birth of Jesus and many accept that Mary remained a virgin during the birth of Jesus. But only some Protestants believe that Mary was ever virgin. The fundamentalists, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and other immediate challenge of the perpetual virginity of Mary, they believe they have an airtight case against him. You can defend this doctrine through the Scriptures, the Fathers of the Church and common sense.
Apart from saying the perpetual virginity of Mary is unbiblical, many people believe this reduction in teaching sex marriage. The Church has always taught sex is a wonderful gift from God, and its use within marriage is good and holy.
God specially equipped to Mary as the Mother of God, wife of the Holy Spirit, Mother of the Church and a leader in the battle against evil. He kept from sin in order to fulfill these roles to perfection and to give his full power against Satan. Mary was to have perfect spiritual intact - sinlessness. God wanted to reflect Mary's body is intact. For this reason, God chose to preserve her virginity miraculously when she gave birth to Jesus. He also kept his body from corruption after death (the Assumption). Scripture teaches us that our bodies mirror our spiritual condition. After mankind was spiritually wounded by the fall, our bodies became subject to death and decay. In the sky, our resurrected body will be perfect.
Note how all the Marian teachings are wonderfully interconnected and theologically sound. The doctrine of Mary's perpetual virginity marital sex does not degrade, but rather reflects the unique role of Mary in God's saving plan.
To defend the perpetual virginity of Mary, we will first deal with verses used to attack this doctrine. Then let's see the other verses that defend it. So let's examine the teachings of the Church Fathers. Finally, we show even the fathers of the Reformation (who invented the "Sola Scriptura") argue that biblical doctrine.
Verses used to refute perpetual virginity of Mary.
Matthew 13:55 "Is not this the carpenter 's son? Is not that Mary knows that her mother and James, Joses, Simon and Judas his brothers? "
In biblical times, as in ours, the word "brother" is used in many ways. Can a brother, relative, friend or associate. In fact, Christians are called fellow brothers (Acts 21:7), as are the Jewish leaders (Acts 22:1). In the original Hebrew, Genesis 14:14 Lot Abraham's brother asks, when in fact, was Abraham's nephew Lot (Genesis 11:26-28). For this reason, many modern translations simply use the word "nephew" or "relative" of "brother" because that's what the Hebrew word for brother says. To determine the exact relationship of the brothers of Jesus, "we must examine other verses to get a fuller picture. Matthew 27:56 and Mark 15:40 tell us that two of these "brothers" James and Joseph, are children of another Mary, not the mother of Jesus. John 19:25 identifies this other Mary as the wife of Cleophas.
Matthew 1:24-25: "Then Joseph got up from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took for himself, his wife and he did not know her till she brought forth her firstborn son, and called its the name of Jesus "(King James Version).
The protesters claim that these verses are two reasons why the Virgin Mary was not always. The Bible says that Joseph refrained from having sex with Mary until she gave birth to Jesus. No "up" implies that after she gave birth to Jesus, Mary had normal sexual relations with Joseph? No. The word "until", short for "until" does not necessarily imply a subsequent change of condition (in this case, sexual abstinence). For example, 1 Corinthians 15:25 says that Christ must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet. " Does this mean that after he has put all enemies under his feet, Christ will cease to reign? No. Christ will reign forever (Luke 1:32-33). "
The protesters also argue that since Jesus is called "firstborn" Mary must have had other children. This is a serious misunderstanding. "Firstborn" is a legal term that indicates a special privilege or rank. Psalm 89:27 David asked "firstborn" even though he was eighth son of Jesse (1 Samuel 16). Colossians 1:15 calls Jesus "the people firstborn over all creation." Many have been born before Christ. St. Paul is merely indicating that Jesus has a primacy over all creatures. Remember, the Old Testament law required all men "firstborn" to be redeemed 40 days after birth (Exodus 34:20), when a woman could not know whether she has other children. I still called her "first child", but again became his only son. The term "firstborn" in Matthew 1:25 does not prove that Mary had other children.
Verses to defend the perpetual virginity of Mary
Keep the following two points into account when examining the passages from the Bible to defend the perpetual virginity of Mary:
      (1) The "brothers" of Jesus never called "sons of Mary."
      (2) Some of the "brothers" admonish counsel and Jesus (John 7:3-4, Mark 3:21). In Jewish culture, younger siblings never warn a brother. Therefore could not have been younger sons of Mary.
Matthew 15 and John 19:27. In Matthew 15, Jesus strongly condemned the Pharisees because they have a procedure, the Korban rule, which allowed children to avoid the care of their parents. In the Old Testament, children have a solemn obligation to care for their elderly parents. This is why the Pharisees scheme for people to shirk this responsibility makes Jesus so angry.
In turn to John 19: 26-27 and the scene on the cross. Jesus is about to die. Apparently Joseph had died because no longer mentioned after Jesus begins his ministry. Mary is in danger of being left alone, so he entrusts his John the Apostle, son of Zebedee, who was a brother of our Lord. If Jesus had younger siblings, as Protestants say, their behavior makes no sense. Jesus had condemned the Pharisees for providing the people of the responsibility to care for their parents. Why should dispense with his own brothers of this obligation so important? Such inconsistency is inconceivable.
      Acts 1:13-14
When he walked, climbed into an upper room, where they were staying. Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alpheus, Simon the Zealot and Judas of James. All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, along with women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
After the Ascension, the followers of Jesus — including Mary, John the Apostle who was now living with Mary and Jesus' brothers — gathered in the Cenacle. If these brothers of Jesus were also children of Mary, Mary, would be praying with their children, who were faithful followers of Jesus, and yet at home with John. In Jewish culture, as a situation just was not going to happen.
A careful reading of the Bible supports Catholic doctrine that Mary had other children not because it was still a virgin. Now let's examine what the Church Fathers had to say about this belief.

  18. ChivaChi says:

I know for a fact that Mary was hitting the town drunk before marrying Joe.
Surely you've heard, 'Twas the night before Christmas and all the men were doing to Mary … and when he left, jumped for joy. "?

  19. Paul H says:

I hope she is a virgin! I wanted to be the first to pop your cherry when I got to heaven!

  20. Benji says:

Ah, what good is a religion that does not mean virgin?
