Christian Do you wear jeans to church? My sister told me the other day that the Catholic priest?
and mind I am not a Catholic and I do not do silly things like hail marry, and the priest told you have to be appropriately dressed to go to church. Do you agree with this? Not me. I've taken in summer shorts to church, jeans, short shirts, not too common, but short-sleeved summer skirts. yet no one told me about that, as if they did I would know lol. well you get what you want to church? I mean the man looks on the outside but God looks on the heart. oh this question is no Christan's. Have you ever gone to church and looked at me strangely? and how he reacted. A few years ago when I was a new Christian I had this woman tell me I am not disobedience to church. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, boy did it fly off the handle with her that day. So how do they treat you when you go to church or have gone to church?

In the Catholic Church, Jesus is present in the tabernacle. It should dress accordingly. When you go to meet the Lord should be dressed with reverence and not like going to the beach or a day at the park. You do not need to dress, but you should dress respectfully. That said, the cowboys can be very good, but tattered jeans, shorts, shirts, tops, miniskirts, and the like are not. People go to church to be with God.
I think there's a certain amount of common decency when you go to church. Such as, you will not wear dresses or shirts, where people can see them and not go to church with his belly-shirts and all exposed. I wear jeans to church on a Wednesday night. It is very casual, but God is watching what you're wearing, look at their intentions. Dressing properly is just a courtesy to others around them.
There are only a million and a billion different denominations of churches. If someone does not like the dress code in, it's very easy to switch to another church.
Not that I like to see Christians bash each other like this, but a little common sense should be there somewhere.
I just went to a better service and wore jeans. They had holes in them or anything, and his shirt was good … jeans, but may work for anything. Nobody looked down on people wearing shorts and t-shirts … although some dressed in suits and ties.
Women like to dress in their best … at a time when women used to be stuck at home during the week that was an excuse to dress every once a week.
500 years ago men wore skirts to church.
I gave a thumbs up Villyj Ideyut
"So You Say"
God bless
You are right Villyj Ideyut
It's not what you wear outside.
It's what you carry in your heart.
Love, Ryan
A Ideyut very welcome Villyj
I've been to church before jeans. but I prefer to dress the best you can, simply because I think it is respectful to God that my best dress in her house of worship.
I can not imagine why anyone would support the Catholic Church after the unjust what we have learned. The Catholic Church has no credibility to carry the holy-than-you to anyone.
God wants the best, if the best is a pair of shorts with holes in them, then that's the best. It's really about what you bring to God … not what they bring to the Church to "fit in", or look presentable.
I have a good pair of black jeans to church, but they are always the people who dress inappropriately. I go to church to be with God and not try to be critical, but difficult at times.
God wants to C UR beautiful heart, no, UR Dress
I go to this Baptist megachurch, and are very strict with jeans and especially women in them. The minister wants all women wear skirts below the knee. And men should be dressed and always, but always wears a tie, no exceptions. And the piano and the organ is the only instrument allowed in the church. And if you are a woman in thight jeans would be willing to look bad in front of everyone during the service.
But the small Baptist church my uncle's different, the women wear tight jeans and Christian rock playing on the service.
"Acceptance into the fold" has presented problems since the early church (some apostles requiring the Gentiles to be circumcised [Acts 15 Council] By the way, Ryan is near. wore pants suits because it is not back in the days of the early church.)
Over the past 20 years many churches have relaxed the traditional "Sunday best dress code." Some have remained rigid on appropriate clothing for church services. Unfortunately there are still members of the church who are more like they're competing in a hair fashion show of attending religious services.
[I've invited the neighbors to the church which I am told, have nothing to wear. " My answer: "Tell me what you have to go and I will use the same". Yes, I used blue jeans to church and have been short Bible studies, but not regular church services.
You're right about looking at the heart of God. It also examines the reasons why we do what we do. (Note also that many believers have and exercise the gift of discernment and are actually allowed to "see" deeper than external appearances - Spooky or not uncommon, but is a gift of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of Christ's body .)
While it might have been a miscommunication and / or misunderstanding on one or both … I think the main point regarding "appropriate attire" for the church can be based on not taking away from the main purpose of joining: thank God, giving Him all the praise and honor and glory. Praise and Worship service is everything by and about him. (This is the moment when the minister and worship God.) He is "fed" with His Word through the message delivered in the sermon.
If someone is dressed in a way that removes / distract from worship or focus attention on himself, what is happening? And also what is the root of this situation - Why should a person come to church dressed in a way that calls attention / focus on him / her?
Conclusion: The shrine is not just another part of the church. It's where we (collectively) in the presence of God. We have a designated time to meet with his Spirit week. God is holy and so … We must do everything possible to show reverence for God. (Our comfort and convenience is paramount. Make the best with what you have.)
Do not go to church? Under the rules of God, yes, it is being disobedient. He has always commanded the believers to mount / fellowship together, and is to our benefit - we build each other and are mutually reinforcing. God has a purpose for all commands and are always for our benefit, because He cares for us. (Also remember: "On earth as in heaven" - Revelation tells us that come together to praise and worship. We should too.)
Has anyone ever looked at me weird? I'm sure, but I will see who looks at me I do not care. I will give honor to God and hear what he has to say to me through the message. (And to be honest, I will simply be in his presence at "home".)
Hope this helps and takes into account all corrections are not cut or tear you down but to help make you a strong member of the community of the church / the body of Christ. (I do not want to be the weakest link, right?)
Be blessed.

That's why they call it religion … Mans rules of the church.
if u dress or inproper be a pariah.
sin like hell and then go and say Hail Marys UR UR forgiven and then the cycle begins again.
but Ive been to a Christian church once and saw girls wearing skirts that use wood or on a street corner.
Oh yes I've had my share of getting into a Chruch and then snubbed me.
People who have their own group and if u dont wear a suit 3-4 or show everyone how much money u put in the offering plate so that u can watch … yeach!
a little makes me sick.
but some churches these days are way out of context there is no doubt America GOD hasn't booted the planet.
but a prayer for all people or around me.
Peace!
Yes, I wear jeans to church, and in summer, sometimes wearing shorts, as it gets very hot here in Bakersfield and my church has no air conditioning. (We are a church materially poor but spiritually rich.)
Our pastor is often associated with jeans. Our pastor usually wears a suit.
God loves you for who you are, not what they have or what you wear.
It would be impractical for our church to adopt a dress code, as our church serves a meal after each service, which attracts many people homeless. We ensure you get tired, body and soul.
You have my sympathy. My wife was once criticized for wearing a black T-shirt to his church. As it happens, I would probably not worn jeans to church, but that's only because they tend to wear trousers instead. If God is everywhere and sees everything, it seems to make sense to wear to church and not at other times. That said, I can think of two ways in which what you wear to church might be important. First, if people dressed ostentatiously, "to be seen" as it were, it would be materialistic and perhaps the worship of idols. This would argue in favor of jeans, etc. to the church instead of "Sunday". Secondly, can distract other parishioners for what you use. For example, a shirt that says "Jesus is" (followed by an expletive). That would be inappropriate.
Most churches do not care if you wear jeans and shirts, but have masses (like the Mass for teenagers) that is more widely seen.
No, do not deny the Eucharist, if they dress badly, because that would be bad, but the priest concerned to ask parishioners to dress well because you are before God and dressing in a tank top and little shortie-shorts inappropriate .
Most likely the priest was speaking to the congregation about dressing appropriately for the Mass, as it can be distracting when you have this woman in the church with his division or buttocks hanging out. Mass is removed to dress well (in jeans and a shirt of Nice are usually fine for most churches) helps keep the attention of people at mass, not the parishioners.
The only verses in the Bible that relate to how people dress it tells us to dress 'modestly' and that men should not wear clothes that are supposed to women and women should not wear clothes that are designed for men .
This rules out very short skirts and low cut blouses, but does not rule our jeans, excludes a man wearing women's jeans and a woman in jeans for men - because it is our culture these days wear jeans.
In warm climates, even men today use fresh gowns for us, look like dresses. That's probably the way to dress so that Jesus can not be wrong. The men wear kilts and the Greek soldiers wear skirts. That is their tradition and there is nothing wrong with that.
When I went to church, dressed for comfort, not to impress people there. I was always taught that "God does not care what you wear, only they appear.
If "God" wants our "best", then I guess that means I should wear my clothes every time I go to church. Does that mean he wants my "best" pretentious and condescending attitude, too?
Ryan T: So you say …
If "God" is there, you better make ThingsTo "bless" me, but thanks for the gesture.
