How can you be a Catholic or a member of the Protestant Church, when?

Can you think of the thousands of people burned alive, slowly roasted alive on a spit of smoldering red hot pincers dismemberment of body parts delecate then sprinkled with holy water, "recorded in children before their parents tortured, sawn be half alive and tips pulled from their sockets.
All done in the name of God. (not that God wanted)
That does not happen rather than what time the temple becomes true Christian churches?
Or is that human society itself changes first what the clergy could not get away with doing this anymore?

Those things have nothing to do with the teachings of the Church who are true. That was they way of the world at that time. Its not very Christian, "It was a human thing. We have grown since then. You should ask this question of the Muslims, who have cut the heads off people, atheists and Communists who still throw people in the gulags.
Get your head out of the 14th century and join us in the real world

Because we live in an evil world and did not promise that we shall not suffer or be killed. God's own son was hanging on a cross. God grant that we never have to go through some of these horrible things we read, but if we do, God will be with us. And we have another life to live, when we get out of it. …. And I'm not brave and I think much of it … I do not have all the answers, but I believe God and His promises. This is not heaven …. yet!

Are you currently like Christ with the Catholic or Protestant "church"? If it is not surprising that the church is as "sloppy" in obedience to Christ on Earth today.

Hey, I know where you come from. I know that my ancestors were tortured by the Inquisition. We were called dissidents and hated and drowned and cursed to hell. This changed when the reform was different. We are not saved by works or doctrine, or even attend church. We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. Martin Luther, who was also persecuted by the Inquisition, which realized that the Catholic Church had taught wrongly when I was reading the book of Romans 1:17, "the just shall live by faith." The emphasis of the church is not going to hell for longer, but go to heaven. Who does not want to go to heaven. And white is not a place where we sit on clouds and strumming harps. It is an incredible place where those who believe in Him, Jesus will live forever. It is not fear, but love of God for us, no matter what we did or what we are. He loves you and wants you to have an incredible life of forgiveness and peace and acceptance. That is what the true church is all. By the way, Jesus is so wonderful that allows us free will, and that means doing things wrong … even people from the church. But I would say that those who did these horrible things that were not theirs, and certainly were not doing their job. Jesus loved, healed and forgave him. Remember John 3:16 … "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus) that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. But I like the following verse: "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but the world through Him might be saved. "Saved from what? Our stupid mistakes and saved for Heaven. God wants to give us abundant life and eternal life. Everything that we have to do is to turn from our sin, turn to him and receive his gift. That is the message of the true Church of Jesus Christ.

Look, I did not even attempt to excuse their actions … but you must remember the Middle Ages occurred shortly after the fall of Rome … and then the new governments are trying to take them (the Europeans against the Ottomans) and then there was the Reformation, etc, etc and to Rome to maintain peace and stability, which had to install fear in people. .. which led to things like the Crusades and the Inquisition … Rome had to make a point that was still in control …

  8. Christop says:

I think you're sensational. Yes, many atrocities were committed in the name of God, but they were not committed by true believers. Just as Muslim terrorists are not an example of true Muslim faith. Throughout the history of humanity has poured into his neighbor horror for many reasons and dogmas. Unfortunately, atheism tops the list at this time in the history of the masses who died under his rule. (Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, Chinese communism)

Yep. The Church has often exceeded the times that ever lived. However, the Church has always been at the forefront of social change for the better.
Read her story, dear. The Church itself is primarily responsible for growing society beyond those Dark Ages.
