I Want To Create A Catholic Altar In My Home?
I have a 3-tier shelf (it has open shelves) I am using this as my altar, for now, the lower shelves are for my prayer books, Bibles, etc. I have a statue of Our Lady of Grace in the center and a crucifix in the center of the wall. Could I add other statues of Jesus, Mary, angels and various saints, but do not know how they should be organized. I've looked at other sites that say to make the altar and the altar in the church of Mary to the left St. Joseph on the right, and Jesus in the center (usually this is a tabernacle). I have two Catholic altar / shrine at home (one up, one down), which my mom fixed. Is the Infant Jesus of Prague, in the center of both a slightly lower figure of Mary on one side of him, and St. Joseph on the other, and some small figures of saints that surround them. You can reorganize your altar / shrine of the way you want. Personally, I like the way my mother rearranged: large statue in the center and smaller statues that surround it.
