Books, Magazines, and Audio, and Video Resources for Catholics

I was watching TV one day and turned to the Catholic Chanel Ididen't know until then that Catholics worship I

I saw a young (nune) teach young children to kneel and pray to a statue of Mary.I mentioned something like this before and returned responses as worshiping idols. Are you trying to say that I diden't see what I saw? Also I do not mean to insult anyone, but we've all seen how the boys preists Assult. I have no respect for people who follow this type of Practis and then tell me I'm wrong to take up.And that diden't happen.I can see why people are reluctant to abandon the belief that I have been with (and family) for hundreds of years, but if your bad, your bad. I know that this church has also done much good for a lot of people but good people must pass something thats true. Rather than continue trying to hide it. I do not mean to be down to anyone, but what about? What exspecto people to believe. We all see it.

Your smile I see it all the time .. I also explain why a Catholic pray to Mary and other saints, and say its b / c of its Askin like you to pray for her mom (who is alive) or a relative who died. But the difference is dying and can not here when his death and ask people (who are alive) to pray for us, but go directly to God.
Mary was a wonderful humanbeing … but sin just like everyone eels. The only person not to sin is Jesus Christ.
You can not pray a person who has died.
      No souls die?
"The soul who sins shall die." Ezekiel 18:20. "Every living soul died in the sea." Revelation 16:3.
According to the Word of God, souls are dying! We are souls and souls die. Man is mortal (Job 4:17). Only God is immortal (1 Timothy 6:15, 16). The concept of an immortal soul, immortal, goes against the Bible, which teaches that souls are subject to death.
Do good people go to heaven when they die?
"All who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out." John 5:28, 29. "David … is both dead and buried and his tomb is with us until today. "" For David is not ascended into the heavens. "Acts 2:29, 34. "If I wait, the grave is my house." Job 17:13.
People are not going to heaven or hell at death. They go to their graves to await the resurrection day. King David was saved in the kingdom of God. However, it is now in his grave, which awaits the resurrection.
How does one know or understand after death?
"The living know that they shall die: but the dead know nothing and have no more reward, for the memory is forgotten. Also hatred and love and envy, is now perished, neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that happens under the sun. " "There is neither working, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10. "The dead do not praise the Lord." Psalm 115:17.
God says the dead know absolutely nothing!
From the Day of Doom not happen .. people who die are not yet in tombs like Mary. There are people in the Bible that are in heaven now (Ennoch Moses, Elliah), but not when in the Bible, Said Mary is in heaven.
Yes Christians pray for others, but pray for others who are alive and pray for health and safe driving conduct etc.but that prayer to God. We do not pray for people who r dead and need not b / c we can go directly to God!

Catholics do not pray to Mary, they pray through Mary. You never asked his pastor to pray for you? This is a typical ignorant belief on their part. If you read the Bible, is measured in concrete for the construction of an idol. It was called the Ark of the Covenant. Because, of course I believe God made a mistake there? Child molesters should be punished. What is being done. Protestants, without sin cast the first stone. I will ask Mary to pray for his soul. It can not hurt.

    + Saints +
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, Methodist and Church.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When one dies and goes to heaven, do not go to this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my late grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you can ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or you can ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or his late grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints is communication, not worship.
+ + The Blessed Virgin Mary
"Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee" (Luke 1:28)
      "Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb "(Luke 1:42).
In Luke 1:48, Mary prophesied, "From now on all generations will call me blessed."
A question for Christians who take the Bible literally: Do you call Mary "blessed"? If not, why?
The Hail Mary prayer simply recites passages from the Bible (the Word of God) and asks Mary to pray for us:
Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. (These are the words that the angel Gabriel told Mary, a biblical quotation.)
Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. (This is the cousin of Mary, Elizabeth's greeting, another quote from the Bible.)
Santa Maria, (The angel Gabriel said he was full of grace and Elizabeth said it was blessed.)
Mother of God (the Bible says that Mary is the mother of Jesus, God the Son)
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. (A simple request to pray for us.)
      Amen.http: / / http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt4s
      Graven Images + +
Do you have pictures of their loved ones? Have you ever looked at the picture of a person while on the phone with them?
Statues and pictures of the people we love are not idols.
Statues and paintings of Jesus and the saints are like pictures of the people we love and respect.
The King James Version of the Bible, in Exodus 20:4: "Thou shalt not make you any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven, or is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under earth "
Why not send the Jews to carve? Images recorded were the standard method of pagan worship. Representations were false gods.
      This command is very clear.
However, God commanded the Jews in Exodus 25:18 and 1 Chronicles 28:18-19, "And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold, as you will make them work"
Y en 1 Reyes capítulo 7 Salomón toros y otras imágenes de los metales preciosos.
It seems obvious that the Jews did not worship the cherubim and Solomon did not worship the bulls he had done. These images did not violate God's command. Therefore, not an image made for worship is acceptable.
In Numbers 21:8-9, "And the Lord said to Moses:" Make a saraph and mounted on a stick, and if someone has been bitten looks, he will recover. "Moses accordingly made a bronze serpent and mounted on a pole and whenever anyone who had been bitten by a snake, looked at the bronze serpent, he recovered.
And in John 3:14-15, Jesus says in the correlation, "And as Moses lifted up the image of [the snake] in the desert, so the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in he may have eternal life. "
How can a statue of our Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross is considered an idol to a false god? A crucifix is the message of the Gospel without words, everyone looked up, a visual reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus, not unlike a painting, a play or a movie.
Catholics do not worship statues but the almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
      + With love in Christ.

  5. Shirley T says:

The original defintion of prayer is to ask or request. He later took the definition of worship.
When Catholics pray to Mary or any of the saints who are asking Mary to pray for them, as you have a friend in this life, to pray for you.
The statues are reminders of the person. If a person is the cult of the statute are guilty of idolatry.

  6. American Christ says:

Mary is just a person who revere. As in Jesus Camp, were not actually worship Bush, they were only after him (I will not argue that in spite of) … If you are in a loved one is serious and that is praying with them, that is not worship, but that could easily be accused of worshiping the dead. Could it be true?

  7. Teutonic says:

Mary is the ultimate example of complete submission to the will of God, pray to (I use the word broadly as ultimately, our prayers to God) she (and the saints as well) so that we can for his inspiration, we do not consider Mary a goddess, but as I said the most sacred human to live solo ever. (Jesus was pure human but divine, obviously pure as well).
As for the sexual abuse scandal, the issue has been magnified through the media, because Catholic priests are sworn to celibacy, its Protestant ministers (I like to attack other religions, but led to) more likely who have done much worse than the few weed seeds of the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church is the true Church founded by Jesus, not by someone who wanted a divorce, or someone who was unhappy about this or that. These rituals, but rituals returned from the Apostolic Church, and are based in the Bible.
