Mary remained a virgin throughout her life. Joseph never copulated with her and she lived much like a nun does. After all, if I was married to a woman who had been born the son of God, the awaited Messiah, I would not make love to her, because I could never live up to God. You can not have sex when you're married or for life. We are a society geared toward sex and since many of us can not, we think no one can.

Please read the following scripture: Matthew 13:55-56 "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary and his brothers James, Joses, Simon and Judas? 56 "And his sisters are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? "57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said: "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, and in his own house." Jesus was the first to be born This is not the only child born to Mary and Joseph.

Good for you to explain your car once more for those who just arrived in your question the first time. I noticed after the first time. Oh, and to answer your question again, yes, I think it was. Joseph was not like all other men. I think he has that Mary was special. They also had God on their side, and "with God all things are possible" (the Bible) Merry Christmas!

Mary and Joseph had more children. Look at the gospels in the Bible, read ... no she was not a virgin all her life.

The Bible does not give an exact figure, but the brothers of Jesus are mentioned in several verses of the Bible. Matthew 12:46, Luke 8:19 and Mark 3:31 say that Jesus' mother and brothers came to see. The Bible tells us that Jesus had four brothers: James, Joses, Simon and Judas (Matthew 13:55). The Bible also tells us that Jesus had sisters, but not the name or number (Matthew 13:55-56). In John 7:1-10, brothers, go to the festival while Jesus stays behind. In Acts 1:14, his brothers and his mother are described as praying. Later, in Galatians 1:19, it mentions that James was the brother of Jesus. The most natural conclusion of these passages is the interpretation that Jesus had brothers of royal blood. There is no biblical reason to believe that these brothers are not the real children of Mary and Joseph. The Bible does not even hint that Joseph was married or had children before he married Mary. The brothers of Jesus were obviously born after Jesus because Jesus was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:26-38). Opponents of the idea that Jesus had half brothers and half sisters do not, from reading Scripture, but of a preconceived idea of the perpetual virginity of Mary, which itself is clearly anti-biblical, "But he (Joseph) had no union with her (Mary) until she gave birth to a son. And he gave the name of Jesus "(Matthew 1:25). Recommended Resources: Vital Christology issues by Roy Zuck.

Duh! who requested quotes the Bible? If you choose to believe that a woman can have a child without losing their virginity, then you are one of the ignorant masses that the Roman Catholic Church loves.

The Catholic Church says yes, but the Bible seems to say no. Furthermore, the Bible clearly says that Jesus had brothers and sisters ... born of a virgin, too? Apparently not. -------------------------------------- ... 24 When Joseph woke up, did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. 25 But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus. ~ Matthew 1 (NIV)
