  1. JESUSFRE says:

No, Mary did not die a virgin, married.
She was a virgin who had not "met" a man.
but to consummate a marriage, must become "one"
      But due to extraordinary circumstances
probably not "be one" until after the birth of Christ.
And I think there is a "waiting period" the husband and wife have to wait, after the woman gives birth, either 7 days or 40 days, I forget. They have to look at Deut.
Also the Bible says he had a half brother named James
and the reason Jesus told John, the apostle of caring for Mary, because Jesus knew James finally martyrdom, also knowing John would die of natural causes age.

  2. somethin says:

She had other babies, Jesus had brothers and sisters.

  3. keydoto says:

Mary conceived a child as a virgin, the word "virgin" means having no "relationship" with a man. She died a virgin. The Catholic Church has said that since Joseph was a man considerably older than he may have children from a previous marriage. Also, the terminology of the language in which time is different from the current day. The brothers and sisters referred to in the deed may have been actually cousins.

  4. Lizard of Ahaz soon again says:

Well, I may sound sarcastic, but it's true that you will not find thoughts (at) least sound of a Christian on this issue because they always end up spitting on preconceptions train thinking rational.
See what I mean they can not agree on a simple idea and discuss something that really has absolutely nothing to do with history. I guess if a woman is married have sex with her husband (except for my ex-wife [is that she makes Mary?]) This means that however, this means that Mary was a real person. After all Are you a virgin and has no intention of staying for the rest of your life? Even if you get married? Think about it and use your brain not let others tell you what to believe.
Why Christians do not like the truth? Oh, it conflicts with their faith!

  5. teran_re says:

Joseph did not know until after the birth of Jesus. It was a-virginized shortly after Jesus was there.

  6. Just Me ♥ says:

That's not true. The Bible says he had brothers and sisters, so I'm sure she wasn't a virgin. Moreover, she married Joseph and do not see how you want * * to remain a virgin he married.

  7. AdoreHim says:

No, Mary did not remain a virgin, she had a little more of children with Joseph after the birth of Christ. I say this because Catholics believe that Mary could not have children to stay pure. Jesus had brothers

  8. Apostle Jeff says:

Given that Catholics worship Mary, they had to maintain its position in the classification by the Goddess of maintenance of a virgin. The Bible does not say this. It also says there is one mediator between God and man and his name is Jesus, not Mary. There are many practical things that Catholics are not in the Bible as to remain celibate and refrain from eating meat. That these false religions have an aspect of holiness, but deny the power, not (Life changing power of the Holy Spirit) In fact, God says He hates these traditions, such as worship and prayer to idols, because keep men separated from God. He wants a personal relationship with us. Jesus called this new birth. That is when the Holy Spirit (God) enters into us and allows our body to become the temple of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 says that if we turn from our sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus paid for our sins (infant baptism does not count), then God will give us the Holy Spirit. Then, God adopts us into his family. We are saved from our sins that we are and what we do. What we only test for us and for God, we are. If you have the Holy Spirit living in us, our desires and behavior change. If we try to live life without the indwelling Holy Spirit, we are living a lie and are relying on our own work.

  9. ? says:

Mat 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James, Joses, Simon and Judas?
Mat 13:56 And they are not all his sisters with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? "
Mat 13:57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said: "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house."
Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the Son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they took offense at him. "
Gal 1:19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the brother of the Lord. http://www.mountainretreatorg.net/faq/si

  10. scotgirl says:

I think that only the Catholic Church teaches that. Because as you said, Scripture says that Jesus had brothers and sisters. The Catholic Church teaches that these were the sons of Joseph, who was widowed before marrying Mary. But that is not in the Bible. It is fully composed.

  11. menome b says:

Mary did not remain a virgin - Jesus was born of Mary, after the Most High overshadowed - but Joseph did not sleep with her until after the birth of Jesus and Mary, 33 days of purification. (According to Jewish ritual law). This is how Jesus had half brothers and sisters who tried to see him but could not get through the crowd. See the verses Matthew 1:25, Matthew 12: 46,47 Mark 3:19-21, 31-35, Luke 8: 19-21
      Big Hugs, menome b

  12. ~*.:Kyla says:

Jesus had brothers and sisters, Mary did not die a virgin because some of the 12 disciples were the brothers of Jesus ….

  13. AiW says:

It is difficult to believe that a woman remained a virgin, but not difficult to believe that a man rose from the dead, a man lived in the belly of a whale for three days, spoke of a snake, a talking donkey etc …?
Actually the word virgin is a mistranslation and should read as "a young woman."

  14. Southern Apostolic says:

She died a virgin, and not a sin. She was a woman chosen by God for a purpose. He fulfilled the plan God had for her. If you read the book of Acts, you will find that she was in the upper room and received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, like the rest of the 120 who had gathered there. The Catholic Church uses the theory of Mary's sinless life to raise it to a position of a goddess, and discredit the name of Jesus Christ, making the mediator between God and man. The Scripture clearly states that the Man Christ Jesus is the mediator between God and man.

  15. rhsaunde says:

She was not. The word "virgin" comes from a mistranslation of a Greek word actually means "young woman". This bit of nonsense is probably the most blatant duck in the entire Bible.

  16. wigginsr says:

If a majority of Catholics believe that Mary died a virgin and had no other children. The verses used by Protestants to deny that the statement is easily addressed through an honest interpretation of the original language of the text.
Other Gospel passages clarify these relationships. James and Joseph are the sons of Mary of Clophas (Mark 15:40). Judas, Simon, and, by extension, are the sons of James (not the apostles) (Lk 6:16). James the younger was the son of Alphaeus (Luke 6:15). Big James and John were the sons of Zebedee, with a mother who is not our Blessed Mother Mary (Mt 20:20 ff).
This point is borne out again in the crucifixion scene: Before dying, the Lord says to Mary: "Woman, behold your son", and then to San Juan, which is definitely not a blood brother, " ; Behold your mother. "According to Jewish law, the eldest son had the responsibility of caring for the widowed mother, and that responsibility would pass to the next oldest if something happened to the first child. At this time, San Jose has died. Since Jesus, the firstborn, had no "blood brother," she told Mary the care of St. John, the beloved disciple.
Next Protestants will tell is that "the disciple whom he loved," was her lover.

  17. oldguy63 says:

Catholics believe it, but they are wrong like they are on many doctrines, Because they do not follow the Bible.

  18. David says:

Mary is ever virgin to the end. a rereading of the original text in each language (Aramaic) that show that words are used when referring to cousins or clan members.
And this teaching was being held even by the Fathers of the Church.

  19. valcus43 says:

Is not it silly. Anyone who knows anything about virginity know it's a bit of fabric that changes with the pressure being placed upon it either by masturbation, stumbling, the insertion of the penis and after childbirth.
It must be a kind of dark to think that virginity can be maintained after delivery.
You also have to be a kind of dark to spend time worrying about this kind of a problem instead of taking care of the children of God. After all, God said we should treat the youngest son of God, as if he were God himself. What the hell are you doing these days Christians instead of what Jesus taught.
I'm an atheist, but like what Jesus taught about caring for others.

  20. Luken says:

It is naive to think that Mary and Joseph were married all those years without hitting it off.

  21. aglowfir says:

According to the King James Version says in Matthew 13:55 and verse 56, speaks of Mary, with sons and daughters.

  22. Adams mommy says:

cathoic church has a different Bible, do not go for that.

  23. bloomluv says:

The Bible mentions Jesus' brothers talking to him, and that Mary had other children

  24. bar_two_ says:

Mary was a virgin throughout her life. The Bible says that Jesus had "brothers", but it means cousins. In Aramaic, there was no word for "cousin", so that the word brother is used instead. Furthermore, cruxification of Jesus, who entrusted the care of one of the apostles. If I had had other children, Jesus entrusted her to them.

  25. Mary says:

there are plenty of books that have been taken from the Bible, either because they brought too many questions about or gave information that hinder the goals of the church at any time. So with that in mind it could be true that he had brothers and sisters, and just because its not in the version of the Bible that is exposed to the public does not mean it is fully integrated and the bible you can go to buy does not provide the documentation only for this period of time and people involved. removed from the books of the Bible are as legitimate as those who remained to stay in the Bible. also … much of the Bible was written many years after the events that happened discuss. This does not mean that questions the Bible, but its important to keep an open mind on all the facts, because these are not the most credible accounts for himself and for what is probably a lot do not know, or perhaps have interpreted incorrectly. Hope this helps a little!

  26. Cosmodot says:

Saying that Catholics have no clue what we are saying is completely ignore history.
The Pope hoped that once we do believe that the world was flat, as well as being the center of the universe, let alone the solar system.
We have also established that the world itself is exponentially older than the church once thought to be.
There are now too heavy to support the process of evolution in the form of transitional fossils, but the claims of the church that people who believe in evolution is wrong if not racist.
If the Pope is supposedly infallible, why so often wrong?
For any Protestant could attend these thoughts, I think that recently declared all religions other than Catholicism a false religion. I think he specifically chose those religions that originally deviated from Catholicism, even if the worship of man.
The day the Pope makes a declaration is the day you start hesitating, but unlike the church, I could always be wrong.

  27. Iguana says:

That word that Protestants call "brother" is also used to describe Abraham and Lot. In the ancient language, there is no word for "half brother". Jesus had a sister named Mary.It was against the Jewish custom of a girl's name like his mother. Therefore … The mother of Jesus was Mary's stepmother's sister Maria de Jesus and the other brothers.

  28. amazed says:

Do you believe in the power of God? Do you think God can revive the dead? Jesus, the son of God can be born and walk among us? Do you believe that he rose from the dead? That may be born of a virgin, as foretold in the Old Testament and Luke 1, where Mary says she has not had relations with a man? That's the leap of faith. God said so, for what it is. We're not talking about biology as we understand it. This is about the power of God to do this. Do you believe?
Catholics gathered the Bible, and so do not worry about people who say that Catholics do not follow the Bible. They can get their own book to argue against the Catholics! We also continue the tradition, as the Apostle says, "Hold fast to the tradition that we taught." To further explain what tradition is, there was no Bible for many years. Nobody sat down under the cross with a pen and wrote the Bible. It is spread by word of mouth and later writing: it's called TRADITION. "Faith is transmitted by the preaching of the apostles. There were no press people back then. How was the dissemination of faith? Word of mouth TRADITION. And always, always, always the tradition that Mary conceived as a virgin, gave birth as a virgin and remained a virgin. Search the Church Fathers who wrote this, who knew the apostles and were taught by the apostles. (Catholics believe this because they have been in existence for 2,000 years. - They trace themselves back to Christ, the creation of the Catholic Church. Van waaaay back! To the source.)
With regard to statements that many of the teachings of the Catholic Church are not in the Bible that are explicitly or implicitly in the Bible or Tradition. In any case, remember the words of the Bible, John 21:24-25: "This is the disciple who testifies to these things and have written and know that his testimony is true. There are also many other things which Jesus did, but if they are described individually, I do not think that everyone could not contain the books that were written. John is saying that everything is not in the Bible. God is bigger than the Bible, even friends. He is awesome! The Bible is a way of speaking to us.
Do you think our feeble little minds can wrap around the mystery of God? No. So that's where our faith.
So the question really is: Do you think God can do this???
Answers very good performance (PS The posters to clarify here that the original biblical language and cultural significance in relation to siblings, cousins or half brothers and sisters at the time, etc are correct, studious. See more in sources below. May God bless you!)

  29. Smeg says:

The doctrine of Mary's perpetual virginity is shared by Roman Catholics, Greek Otrhodox and Eastern Othodox. This is supported by the Gospel of James, a historical document that was written around the year 120.
Protestants refer to biblical passages that mention the "brethren of the Lord" to support their belief that Mary had other children. However, the perpetual virginity of Mary has always been reconciled with the biblical references to Christ's brethren through a proper understanding of the meaning of the term "brothers". The understanding that the brothers of the Lord were Jesus' stepbrothers (children of Joseph) rather than half-brothers (sons of Mary) was the most common at the time of Jerome (4th century). It was Jerome who introduced the possibility that Christ's brethren were actually his cousins, cousins, since in Jewish language also referred to as "brothers". The Catholic Church allows the faithful to celebrate every point of view, since both are compatible with the reality of Mary's perpetual virginity.
Today most Protestants are unaware of these early beliefs about the virginity of Mary and the correct interpretation of "brothers of the Lord. Yet the Protestant Reformers themselves, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Ulrich Zwingli and consecrated the perpetual virginity of Mary and recognized as the teaching of the Bible, like other, more modern Protestants.
