Catholic Priest Denies Jesus as the only way?

Priest said that a person can go to heaven without repentance and faith in the Savior, Jesus. Jesus said he was the only way. Who is wrong here?
If a person goes to hell, not because they were especially bad, because nobody is good. The reason we go to hell because their sins are not forgiven, they have legitament sacrifice for their sins. The only sacrifice that God accepts now is that the Lamb who was killed on Calvary, Christ.
  John 14:6
Jesus said I am the way, truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father except through me.

So even if you live a decent life, raising and loving their children, doing good deeds for their community and society at large, if they have not accepted Jesus as your personal savior, you go to hell.
      Nice.
Tell me again why I will want to accept this selfish, needy, insecure jerk as my savior? Just so you can enter your country club soon after death?
      No thanks.

The Catholic Church believes that those who die never hearing of Christ but have sought the truth and does the will of God as they understand it can be saved. See Romans 2:13-16. This is called baptism of desire. (1)
If he died before Jesus died for our sins and opened the gates of heaven to us, then expected in what is called in Abraham's bosom or Sheol the Old Testament.
Catholics believe that after Jesus died on the cross, descended into the grave, the place of the dead. Although freed the holy souls, who awaited their freedom in the bosom of Abraham. (2)

I can not help thinking that the priest misunderstood and misquoting him. No Catholic legitimate make those statements as you stated. True Catholic teaching is that everyone who follows a sincere conscience, honesty, and knowledge can be saved regardless of the actual composition of the Church. However, even salvation is through the Catholic Church, which teaches that there is no salvation outside of Jesus. In other words, ignorance is excusable, provided it is not deliberate. In other words, the following awareness sincerely mean that would unite and follow the teachings of the Church, whether if given the opportunity and knowledge to do so. They obtain their spiritual devotion through the implicit desire to follow the truth. Jesus remains the only way, truth and life. If the Catholic priest was quoted exactly as you said, should be reported to the bishop, who in turn out of its functions. It might even be excommunicated. I doubt that the priest made the comments as such.

  6. Mr. Hopscotch says:

Good for the priest, atleast you're thinking "Maybe Catholics used to go to hell."
Maybe you should open your eyes too much to notice that God is love and forgiveness … I do not think anyone's going to hell.

  7. neil s says:

Quoting the Bible is not yet proof that Jesus existed, let alone say anything.

  8. MrgLvWsd says:

That definitely is not the meaning of Jesus as the only way.
Whoever gets get to heaven because of Jesus. And since the Romans, he says, if you do not have the law that are judged without the law … Abraham came to heaven by Jesus, right? Please say 'yes'
