"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)
Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed between Catholic Christians and other Christians.
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
Only by grace through faith in Christ's saving work and not for any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping and calling us to good works.http: / / www / roman_curia. vatican.va / pontif …
There are many minor issues and the doctrine of some major traditional cultural differences that I think does not matter much.
A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of his new church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

Catholics are Christians. Catholicism is a branch of Christianity.

You will never find anything in the "religion" … look to Jesus Christ!

  4. Billdo says:

The Romans, who became the established Catholic Christianity is the combination of various popular pagan religions of the time. Catholicism means "universal" religion that was to unite all the various pagan cults of the Roman Empire under a sun god. Most of these other Christian denominations are only separated from the Catholic Church at one time or another. Probably more money.

Have faith in Jesus Christ. Read the Bible.
Religions are as different as people, have their own beliefs on the teachings of the Bible.
Most of those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior sent to Earth by his father. Baptists are the closest to that belief,,,, and teach the Bible to the best of his ability as written, but most religions are about …… You have to decide how you learn about the Lord and the Bible ,,,,,, but I congratulate you for asking. Keep looking and will come to you through the Lord ……

Most Protestant denominations first division of the Catholic Church on issues of theology and the Church on the dependence of the Natural Law Methodology, as opposed to a greater reliance on the Bible for theological answers. Both positions represent their own brand of problems. There were also problems of indulgences and other matters of ecclesiastical law and canon law load ..
Other problems arrose with the growth of nationalism in different countries give to the authority of the Church.
Today there is great animosity between the Catholic and other religions.
Today the Catholic Church, recognizing the serious problems inherrent biblical theology and interpretation problems, still relies more on the methodology of the Natural Law that most other Christian sects.
Unfortunately, any method to get a "theological or moral truth" contain traps. In my opinion - and I'm very fallible - most religions FIRST decide what they believe, and then use natural law or the Bible to prove their positions.
Again there is a second problem and that is the "evolution" of moral thinking.
The tribes of Israel and Judea were just that - tribes. And tribal law practiced. It is common throughout the Old Testament. So - to love your neighbor only included Jews. It's good to have other Jews as slaves, for example. It was also VERY patristic. Women were almost treated as property.
These moral values gradually changed over the centuries.
And even though the New Testament declared slavery. In fact, most Christian religions supposed to be moral slavery until about the 1800s. In 1866 the Catholic pope declared that slavery was not yet against the divine law or natural law. Baptist Church in the U.S. Division on the question of slavery in the early1800s. Until the 1960s, most Southern Baptist churches would not allow blacks in his church. Jerry Falwell will not allow a black man in his church until the early1970s. Some churches place most of its reliance on the Bible as the Baptists. However, this is still not without problems. One, how can we use the moral theology, 2000 years to solve problems unthinkable moral 2000 years ago? Besides, even today the Southern Baptist are in virtual war over how to interpret the Bible with the new wave of "infallibility" progressive biblical theology.
Until late 1800 the majority of Christian churches against the suffrage of women and said women were subject to their husbands. It was not until the early1960s that the Catholic Church admit that democracy is a permissible form of government. although some sentiment within the Church is in favor of democracy by the beginning of the 1900s.
And who knows. Some Christian religions of today are starting to allow same-sex committed relationships.

I want to see something. Have you read all your answers, especially those who say things like "It's a relationship, not religion," or "Catholics worship Mary!" Or "Catholics are idol worshipers!" , etc, etc
See, this is what happens when people go CRAZY with and about the Bible.
The fact that Catholics are not "going crazy" about the Bible, does not mean that we are ignoring the Bible.

  8. Praise Warrior says:

Pray God will guide my friend or
The Catholics have their own Bible mostly include more books than the KJV and is still teaching outdated things like purgatory and the baptism of the baby, including but r real Christian because they believe in Christ
Now we need u ur reading the Bible and pray

  9. Midge says:

"Where are from Babby ?"— like that? Mabe?

  10. Moises_F says:

Is there a sound basis for their beliefs?
      Their right to believe
It is likely that we value their right to believe what they want to believe. So does almost everyone else. In exercising this right, six billion people in the world have produced an amazing diversity of beliefs. Like the variations in color, shape, texture, taste, smell and sound found in the creation, different faiths often add interest, excitement and enjoyment of life. This variety can, in fact, the salt of the LIFE.-Psalm 104:24.
But there is a need for caution. Some beliefs are not only different but also dangerous. In the early 20th century, for example, some people came to believe that the Jews and the Masons had plans to "disrupt Christian civilization and erect a world state under their joint control. One source of this belief was anti-Semitic tract entitled Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The tract claimed that the plans include promoting excessive taxation, the promotion of arms production, promotion of giant monopolies that "the Gentiles wealth can be destroyed with one blow." The allegations also included manipulation of the educational system in order to "convert the heathen in unthinking animals, including the construction of underground railways to join the capital so that elderly Jews could" stifle any opposition to blow the clouds. "

  13. King James 33 1/3% says:

I suppose your other ignorant Protestant who does not know where the word Christian came. It came from the second Pope of the Catholic Church
      Evodio (St. Linus (67-76)
was the first bishop of Antioch, and is credited with being the first person to call the followers of Christ, "Christians", as shown in Acts 11:26. See Eusebius, book 3, chapter 22.
Are you still a Christian, now that you know that the word came from or just a Bible believer.

  14. bogey1ov says:

    pray for truth and grammar

  15. 777 says:

Catholics do not have the Bible as the only truth who say their manmade traditions are as good as the word of God. Christians know that the Bible is all you need to be perfected thoroughly equipped for every good work. I'm not sure if it is correct, but I won that Catholics do not even carry a Bible with them to church think they have to accept what the priest tells them that the Bible says.

  16. St. Boniface Fan says:

First of all Catholics are Christians. It is the only Christian church founded by Jesus Christ. The others were founded by men.
      Your questions answered May others.
      1. The Bible came from the Catholic Church. Catholics read the Bible every day. But do not read the same way Christians are others. Study and reflect on the Bible to enrich our faith.
      2. The difference between Catholics and other Christians is the fact that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church.
      3. If you are honest about your intention, please go to a Catholic church and a priest about his interest about the Catholic faith and other reserves.

  17. Excalibu says:

"Do not judge a book by its cover."
For the same reason, please do not judge Catholics by what you see. If they look sad that probably were touched by God. God works in different ways.
There is no salvation for those outside the Catholic Church, especially for those who attack it.
It is only by grace that other Christians are saved. Their names have no means of salvation, which was only given to the Catholic Church.
My advice is you study the Catholic faith and then judge whether it is for you. We RICA seminar for this purpose. There is no obligation to be a Catholic and you can leave anytime you want.
