Catholics, why is a small shrine to Mary?
If most of the OT and NT has focused on the prohpets and the apostles, why you come along and build shrines and little things for women Mary?
And as a side note, even as Greek goddesses, so I am really being quite fair. lol

Due to the Blessed Virgin Mary is the largest creature that God created.
Period. Exclamation point!
If you think otherwise we will establish a discussion with you and a Jesuit priest well and you both get a good time to talk and then they both are interrogated by the time the judges see fit.
Edit: I'll pay for your plane ticket too. I'm being serious, not only be a Dink, Jeff S can be put on YouTube.
For the same reason I have pictures of my nieces in my fridge - are members of the family that I love. For the same reason we have shrines to Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson - have an important role in history and culture, and Mary has an important role in Christianity.
Basically for the same reason we have a great shrine of Abraham Lincoln - to honor a person who has played an important role in our lives, either nationally or spiritually. And that is not the role of our Lord and Savior who played in our lives, which has played a more important role than the person who gave us our Lord and Savior, his mother? Goftar for this great honor and thank him.
Bonnie Why is so worried about what Catholics believe. Are not happy with what they do in their "Meetings" (Shalllllbbbaaallllllllllaaaaahheee) I'm sure there's a kind of spirit in them.
It is a sign of our love for her.
Everyone has a special place in his heart for his mother, and Catholics believe in Mary as our mother, too.
What about Holy cow? Do you like?
The shrines are little to remind Catholics that Mary is the Mother of Jesus.
Why fundamentalists always put Mary down?
I think you all are afraid of it. Oh, well - give it a few years and then I bet you respect and honor her as well ..
Because Idolize her!
good question, why make a shrine at all?
Was not she the mother of God?
As I understand it, is the continuation of the pre-Christian Pagan Goddess worship.
