Catholics, why pray for Mothermary and other saints?
I am a firm believer that Catholics and all denominations of Christianity are one in the same religion with some traditions and customs. However, all worship the same God who sent his son to earth, etc. .. you know the rest of this amazing story.
My question is for Catholics, on what basis he prays to Mary and other saints? I see no evidence of the disciples or anyone doing that after the death of Jesus in the New Testament. No, where is God asks of his followers in the Bible. Do you think God can not handle all the prayers and petitions that we as human race, so he needs help with them?
I apologize if this appears as a condescending question, I only ask this out of curiosity.

To be dead is being alive in Christ. Heaven, therefore, is a place for the living, not dead. Those who have gone before, then, are not dead but alive.
Prayer, as defined by most Catholics, is simply the idea of talking to those in heaven, and should be viewed as no different from choosing a cell phone to call your mother. There would be no sin to call your mother on the phone and ask to pray for you, why there would be no sin on "vocation" of St. Thomas, an example of piety and intense devotion to understanding theology as a pray with you in the worship of One God. In this sense, is making the life of the saint is a particularly good example for your place in life to see God's glory.
Santos and Maria did not love. Signals are simply fatal to point us to the Route One, the Truth and the Life who is Jesus of Nazareth. They are reminders that we too can run the race - and win.

I am not Catholic, but I always wondered about that too.
Jesus said, in order to reach God you must go to him (Jesus) …. His first clearly expressed in the Bible …..
Catholics, myself included, are very vague and imprecise in our discourse. Not exactly praying to Mary and the saints, we ask God to pray with us.
Why we do that? For me, it comes down to psychology. How many people speak with their loved ones after they have died? If this sounds silly, think about what people do when they visit the grave of a person. As humans, we have to be connected, and often crave a connection to those who have died.
Leaving aside the Vatican lists and other things, the saints are merely men and women who have lived the life that we feel good and holy and exemplary for others. Some were known to some aspects of their lives, and we may think "what would-and-so do?" So I hope that his example and ask them to help us pray to God.
We certainly do not need to pray to the saints. (See, I just used vague language again.) For me personally, it is sometimes easier to make my prayer in the form of a conversation and know that humans of Mary and the others who actually lived on earth does a little easier for me. If you'll excuse the humor, Jesus never menstrated, and had no children. If I'm struggling with a problem like that and feel the need to help in my prayer, you probably want an example of a woman. I keep praying to God, just going on a certain way of training my prayer.
Do not worry - God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit is # 1. In no way, shape or form are either Mary or the saints or divine anywhere near the level of God.
Catholics are actually members of the family of God … and that the family extends from the land all the way to heaven.
Once baptized, we have the right to speak to any member of the church to choose from, including all three persons of the Trinity.
Everyone in heaven is God, and everyone in heaven is on the same page.
This takes nothing away from God, as God's grace is the only reason there are all saints.
The other reason to enlist the aid of those in heaven is because God often their grant applications, as well warranted, if not normally grant one of us, because we do not.
When that happens, it reallly is a miracle, and often life-changing for the better.
Salvation is not an event once. It is only the beginning.
In St. Paul, said, you should keep your eyes on the goal line, and the race to the finish.
It helps to have a few leaders heavenly joy rooting for you when things get tough.
In fact, it often makes the difference.
Either way, happens only by the grace of God, and according to their expressed will.
Protestants do not understand these things, because they missed the first 1500 years of Christianity, and then made there own colorful traditions, based solely on the misinterpretation of Scripture.

The real question is, why pray at all?

Jenny. We can talk directly to God. His prayer call. God wants a personal relationship with you. He is interested in every area of your life. He wants to be involved in every area of your life. All you need do is allow you to. Jenny suppose they are Catholics? If so get rid of it man made traditions and achieved in a chuch believe the Bible and become the woman God created you to be. God wants and responds to our subordinates Mediation / Intercessory Prayer
1 Timothy 2:1-2 - because Jesus is the only mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5), many Protestants deny the Catholic belief that saints on earth and in heaven can mediate our name. But before Paul's teaching about Jesus as the mediator "one," Paul urges supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving for all people. De Paul is thus appealing for mediation from others besides Christ, the only mediator. Why?
1 Tim 2:3 - because this subordinate mediation is good and pleases God our Savior. Because God is our Father and we are his children, God invites us to participate in Christ's role as mediator.
1 Tim. 2:5 - therefore, although Jesus is the only mediator between God and man, there are many intercessors (subordinate mediators).
1 Cor. 3:9 - God invites us to participate in the work of Christ, because they are of God "colleagues" and a family in the body of Christ. Wants his children to participate. The phrase used to describe "fellow workers" is "sunergoi" which literally means synergists, or cooperators with God in matters of salvation. Does God need fellow workers? Of course not, but this shows how much He, as Father, loves his children. God wants us to work with him.
Mark 16:20 - This is another example of how the Lord worked with them "(" sunergountos "). God cooperates with us. Outside of his eternal love, He invites us to participate.
Rom. 8:28 - God "for good" (the Greek is "eis sunergei Agathon") those who love him. We work as subordinate mediators.
2 Cor. 6:1 - "working together" (the Greek is "sunergountes") with him, accept his grace in vain. God allows us to participate in its work, not because they need our help, but because He loves us and wants to exalt us in His Son. It's like the father who leaves his son to join him in carrying the groceries into the house. The father needs help, but it encourages your child to help raise the child in dignity and love.
Heb. 12:1 - "the cloud of witnesses" (neph marturon) that we are surrounded by a large circle of witnesses for the race of the earth, and actively participate and encourage us (the runners) on, in our rush to salvation.
1 Peter 2:5 - we are a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices responsible to God. Therefore subordinate priests to the high priest, but we are still priests who participate in Christ's work of redemption.
Revelation 1:6, 5:10 - Jesus made us a kingdom of priests to God. Priests intercede through Christ on behalf of the people of God.
James 5:16, Proverbs 15:8, 29 - the prayers of the righteous (the saints) have powerful effects. This is why we ask for your prayers. How much more powerful are the prayers of the saints in heaven, where justice has been perfected.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 - therefore, it is because Jesus Christ is the only mediator before God that we can be subordinate mediators. Jesus is the reason. The Catholic position which gives more glory to Jesus. It does everything but loves us so much that He desires our participation.
I always thought of it as the saints and Mary his message and add your own power of prayer.
I once heard a woman why he prayed to Mary's B / C Jesus did not understand the problems of women …. what an insult to Christ …
The mother of Jesus is with him in heaven. The commandments say "Honor thy Father and thy Mother," so that Jesus is Lord - How was I going to honor his mother, besides take her to heaven. He has brought several prophets and the saints to heaven more why not your mother? I t would be unfair not cruel. He has given us as our Mother also of the cross. I think she, as our Mother, you can talk to Jesus on our behalf as a true mother speaks to her husband, on behalf of their children on Earth. I think so, no other mediator between man and God, but Jesus, but Mary can be a mediator with him.
I think maybe mistakenly may think that, God himself is too busy to respond to requests more important than ours and his Blessed Mother, or even the saints can serve as intermediaries to deliver our petition to him or if his will help us with our needs.
"Pray" has several meanings in English (a language that did not exist in biblical times). "Pray" means beg or plead, "to make an application for a humble way," or "to address God or a god with adoration, confession, supplication or thanksgiving. Since the Bible says we should "pray for one another" (James 5:16), pray (beg) Mary and other saints to pray (towards God) by us and with us. Ignorance of God's will that sin can do as Catholics to pray to Mother Mary and other saints.
It is clearly stated in the Bible that the Lord's servant must pray to God the Father.
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests known to God.
But do not be angry with the Catholic members, we will blame their priests and pastors are not teaching the gospel.
I do not understand well, but I've seen miracles as a result of prayer to Mary. I can not criticize the Catholics on that basis … perhaps a Catholic here can explain.
