CBC News Liberal Bias and anti-Catholic?

I was watching news coverage of the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the U.S. and most news outlets are fair, however, CBC News Sunday Night "broadcast a piece by Alison Smith, who seemed blatantly anti-Catholic.
Most news outlets reported that the crowd cheered and hugged enthusiasticaly favor of Pope Benedict XVI's life and the "sovereignty of life," says, however, Alison Smith, CBC reported the same accurate news event and added, "over 50% Catholic pro-choice and I could not wait for the Pope to return to the Vatican so they could go on to choose what rules of the church to follow."
The CBC reporter never attributed its source to its exaggerated claim that over 50% of the Catholic Church was pro-choice. Furthermore, how can anyone claim to be a true Catholic and be pro-choice? "
"That would not be the same as calling himself a vegetarian after eating hamburgers every night?
Does the CBC or Smith has a reputation of having a liberal bias and / or anti-Catholic bias?

    Is the Pope … Catholic?
(this has to be the best use of that line, never in the history of Yahoo Answers .. lol) CBC is not any more anti-Catholic as any other secular media and Western … because everything is reduced to the editors and writers and producers who know a good story about a dispute or something to highlight what might be laughable in its corridors .. almost always tickle their viewers and themselves. That's what they want. The news, in essence, is to them - not for people to learn something .. over time, become a polished clear of news, and a kind of propaganda for almost any subject institution (think of a cynical eye = research). More often than not, at home can see through this .. as a bias.

Shortly after Cardinal Ratzinger was elevated to the papacy in 2005, CNN conducted a poll of U.S. Catholic:
In addition, more than half of respondents, 56 percent said it bothered the Pope's opposition to birth control. Meanwhile, nearly three-fourths, 72 percent, said the age of 78 years old pope did not bother them.
This may be what Alison Smith was referring to.

Sorry, I know that this is not a general answer to your question, but could not stop responding to this.
I happen to be Catholic and pro-choice. I grew up Catholic. My parents are Catholic. I was confirmed in the Catholic church after attending "Sunday school" (ours were not actually held on Sunday) classes from elementary school school up until high school.
However, do not think the government should legislate on religion. I personally can not conceive, and increasingly going to have an abortion. However, it is a personal choice. I do not want the government to take the position that can tell me what to do with my body and I see no law prohibiting abortion, even on the basis of the fact that you are effectively "kill" the baby, to be an outstanding slippery to do just that.
I'm Catholic, but I'm also the separation between church and state. I do not want to impose my religious beliefs of another person and from that point of view, I consider myself "pro-choice."
I do not know whether holding this view, I would do more than a "real" Catholic, but certainly consider myself Catholic, like many others I know, whether or not we are the same legislation that would boost more ups in the Catholic Church.
