Eastern Orthodoxy …?

Honestly, no idea of the following questions. Can anyone help?:
  # 1: Can someone be Christian Orthodox, or do you have to be of a particular ethnic group? The reason I ask is because there is a single Orthodox Church, but there are Copts (Egyptian) Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, etc., whose only ethnic or national origin in its name
  # 2: What are your views on the veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary? Do not pray to her as a Catholic, and do not believe in the apparitions of Mary Catholic?
  Thank you!

1, ethnicity is an important marker of the internal political structure that governs the local church. The U.S. is, curiously, the only part of the Orthodox Church which has no domestic church. This is a historical accident of immigration patterns. It was actually a marker that shows the difference of language rather than politicians. Russian Orthodox services are Russians, Greeks are Orthodox Greek services. Ironically, it is in the Eastern Catholic rite beside that everything is in English and the group is nearly unified in terms of church policy. Not entirely true because the Church of Antioch still governs the part of rite of Antioch, but the Church of Pittsburgh in the Catholic Church (Ruthenian part) is entirely self-governing. The irony is that is the Power of the Ruthenian Catholic Church is autonomous and not part of other parties because of the Cold War. Anyone can join any group, because to be baptized is to be both Catholic and Orthodox, unless waived.
      # 2 As Catholics, Orthodox follow the practices of the first century. Whereas the Roman Catholic Patriarchate of use of services derived from the Apostle Peter, the Orthodox Church and is the reduced use of services or written by Mark James. Also some parts of using the services of the Catholic Church by Thomas in the East. The veneration of the Virgin is very old. This surprises many Protestants, but is clearly part of the services of early Christians, only based on archeology. Copies of the Christian services of more copies of the scripts that exist. In many respects, more is known of ancient worship that on some parts of the New Testament.
Orthodox are somewhat more extreme, as reading the Scriptures in the original languages and not have to read in translation (you'd be surprised what Luke says of Mary without the politics of translation on the way) and some services Aramaic Antioch yet (where do you think Mel Gibson is a native speaker of Aramaic). Moreover, because do not think the original sin, as do Western Catholics and Protestants would say that if you read the Bible in Greek or Hebrew could not get to see the reform of sin, are also less dogmatic about Mary.

The Greek Orthodox Church, Russian Orthodox, Ukrainian Orthodox and Coptic churches there for me and their congregations reflect the different races, apparently everyone is welcome, it would just be the road.
The Mother of Christ is certainly revered and prayed as intecessor - in various titles.
      Its title is Theotokos release.
to believe in apparitions, I honestly do not know the answer to that
      but
      will "give" a video of a Coptic church in Egypt - http:/ / http://www.zeitun-eg.org/stmaridx.htm
      around 1968-69.

    1. The Copts are not Eastern Orthodox. Reforms did not acept 4th Ecumenical Council of Chalcedon (451 AD)
Yes, it can be a Christian to be EO witjout Greek, Russian, Serbian, Romanian, Bulgarian or Ukrainian. All the Churches equal opportunities in the U.S. welcome and potential converts, but I recommend you visit a church of the Orthodox Church in America and Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese - the best practices in the missionary.
