You should know that the Roman Catholic Church is only a continuation of the Roman Empire ..... Right? Even the Vatican is actually the garden of Nero. Are you really that surprised that today the Roman emperors are surrounded by great wealth while ordinary people outside the gates are on the brink of starvation? If not it should be. It has been going on for most of 3000 years. The names and changing clothes, but the order of the day stay the same.

Municipal services in Rome are managed by the (elected) the civic authority of Rome. The Vatican is a sovereign and independent and has no responsibility to perform the functions of secular authority in the capital of another country. The electorate of Rome, has to look to themselves if they are dissatisfied with the performance of its civil administration.

My mother lives in Spain, when I visited the Cathedral of Valencia is filled with expensive items, gold and silver, large items and then I found out that the Catholic Church did not help the peasants during the civil war .... things were so harsh that many poor people were so hungry they ate grass and died of tetanus ..... not a very Christian sentiment ....

When you are involved in 1% of the Ministry to look after the Church does, then resubmit. The criticism does not cost anything and is usually worth it. I am not a Catholic.

Hopefully now realize that the church is a money making system and not worry about those outside the walls. Sad but true, this is why organized religion is stupid.

Are not you being a bit unfair, since the Catholic Church is certainly involved in social work enough to help the weak, and probably has a better record than some other denominations. Mind than any other organization with the power presents a great temptation for members, especially high, abuses that - a well developed Christian faith would look much better than a bad Christian established. Indeed, some Popes in the past (especially centuries ago) got in the seat of the Pope by the political machinations and does not seem to have been very Christian, but seem much more to choose wisely today - at least it seems to me although I have never visitted the Vatican. I am not a Catholic.

In fact, Catholics help more people than any other charity. Why do not assume that just because the Vatican is clean and owns expensive things? Catholic Charities is the number one charity in the world. We give you more time, money and resources than any other charity. Catholic Charities is not helping the poor every day of every week. Much of the wealth of the Vatican has been there for centuries. Artifacts, etc. Some old art donations or gifts, and most have increased in value over time. People will always be poor and needy. The Catholic Church can do more as a functioning organization that could, if he sold all his wealth. Finally, that money would stay and then what? Catholics have schools and hospitals, all run by money from the Catholic Church and at no cost to taxpayers. We educate students of all religions, better and cheaper than public education. We also have hospitals around the world that help people of all religions, all funded by the Catholics. You should not make assumptions. The Catholic Church practices what it preaches.

That was Mussolini and the voluntary exile of the Popes. As for the money, should we actually see the pity! That sounds blasphemous. And the sound a bit like you already know that: "Judas said, Why was this perfume in vain. It could have beensold for more than 300 denarii and given to the poor. " And sharply criticized his (Mark14 :4-5).
