Is it OK to marry a Catholic priest?

Not according to the Vatican, the Catholic priest should not marry unless the church is closed.
I know a priest who was playing and had a child with a woman. It used to be the head of the church and the director of my school. The reason I know, because my mother used to work for him and the woman came and visited him frequently when there was nobody around.

    Not that I'm aware of!
Never heard of a Catholic priest married!

  3. Kc says:

As for me, no problem. But the Catholic Church is against it and, by marrying a priest would break their vows.

  4. Warren says:

I do not see a problem with it? I heard the only reason the Catholic does not allow it is because the congregation would have to support the family of the priest. From now on, only the support of the priest.
Is it really something in religion that prohibits a priest marry? Does anyone really know?

  5. Keeper says:

    No.
A Catholic priest, after years of discernment, has voluntarily taken a vow of chastity (including ratings).
Priests and religious (nuns) as part of their vocation not to marry following:

In Matthew 19:12, Jesus says: "Some are incapable of marriage because they were born so, some because they were made so by others, some because they have renounced marriage for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Who can accept this should accept it. "
In Matthew 19:29, Jesus says, "And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life .
Matthew 22:30 - Jesus explains: "In the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels in heaven".
In 1 Corinthians 7:1, Paul writes, "It's a good thing for a man not to touch a woman."
Then in 1 Corinthians 7:7, Paul says, "Indeed, I wish they all be like me."
In 1 Corinthians 7:27, Paul writes: "Are you free from a wife? Then do not look for a woman. "
In 1 Corinthians 7:32-33, Paul teaches us: "I would be free of worries. An unmarried man is concerned with things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about worldly things, how to please his wife. "And in verse 38," So, who marries his virgin does well, he who does not marry she will do better. "
Paul recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church so as to be able to concentrate fully to God and building His kingdom. The "who refrains from marriage will do better."

Biblical models of a celibate clergy came from John the Baptist, Jesus and the apostle Paul.
John the Baptist and Jesus are both believed that celibacy was throughout his life. Some scholars believe that the example of the Essenes influenced either or both of Jesus and John the Baptist in their celibacy.
WWJD? What would Jesus do? Jesus never married.
The Apostle Paul is explicit about his celibacy (cf. 1 Cor. 7). There is also evidence in the Gospel of Matthew for the practice of celibacy among some Christians, in the famous passage about becoming "eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 19:12).
The concept took many twists and turns in recent years and will probably have a bit more before Christ returns in glory.
A priest is "married" to the Church. Some people think that a priest who takes seriously its functions can not properly care for a wife and family.
      With love in Christ.

If we look back in history oour and history of the Church, you see that way back when they were allowed. What happens is that living on church land and when they died, all children who struggle in the church to inherit land. They stay with him and the church was sick of loseing the earth.
It speaks of the church chanign the rule that a priest can not marry, but this probably will not happen unless a very liberal pope comes to power.
      Hope this helps.

  11. Stephany says:

Catholic priests are not allowed to marry. Is supposed to be celibate, and that is not exactly conducive to a healthy and fulfilling marriage. The Church also sees a married man who is easily distracted from his priestly functions by stress and responsibilities that come from having a wife and children.

  12. Invisigo says:

Is the child at least 6 years old? You know how priests love the little children!
