  1. WellTrav says:

In general it is probably true.
Moreover, it is also true that scientists are generally more educated than the Catholic priests …
Just remember that there is a direct correlation between levels of education and lack of belief in supernatural myth without evidence.
The more education you have, the less likely they are to believe nonsense.
This fact explains why the Protestant pastors are those who go around telling the world's population is 6000 years old - the lack of education.
I also said that while it is good that Catholic priests are more educated, he clearly still do not have enough:)
      Peace.

Yes, indeed. Pope Benedict XVI was begun to be a priest at age 9 and did not finish his studies first to become a priest until he was about 29 years old. then he had to have more education to become a bishop, then cardinal, then the Pope. we must learn every language in the world to be able to write them, talk to them, help them. The pastor we have in Kansas, which took him 30 years of school and college.
It will take me 12 to 20 years for me, because I have a doctorate, master's, and other Masters, a Doctorate in Theology, an MA in History, and a Master of Languages, then perhaps only a master in writing and such one more time Master of Philosophy.
We learned Hebrew writings that became the Greek, then Latin Bible. studied the letters of all the popes, and after studying the Gospel in more detail, called the Synoptic Gospels, where they decompose the four gospels in the Bible and studying the writings of St. Paul and the books of wisdom and song lyrics and David Solomon.
Not only believe in the Bible, divided into parts and learn what words mean and everything, but it takes much more time and study to become a priest and instead of stopping to read the Bible and talk to the people.
Trust me I've seen what a pastor does and that anyone can do it, even a child and see how well educated these men and women and is so sad that a few Catholics need to help them do their job, because if they didn not help because I could not think straight.

Catholic priests are generally more educated * * * * some Protestant pastors.
There is a requirement for management education in the Catholic Church, and several segments (the Jesuits, for example) are known for their erudition. As a result of the shortage of priests in recent years, while the requirements for ordination as a priest not been reduced, some of the duties of priests have returned to delegate to other officials who do not have to meet the same requirements as priests . For example, one of my grandchildren was baptized by a deacon who did not meet the same standards as the priest with whom he worked.
In the United States, a large number of denominations of Protestant churches and even more who are not affiliated with any conference. Thus, the requirement of education varies. The main line Protestant churches - Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, and so on - educational needs identified by a conference of leaders, require at least a degree from a seminary accredited. Some individual churches require their pastors have DD (Doctor of Theology), degrees or diplomas in theology. However, there have been divisions over the years. Originally the Free Will Baptist group left the Southern Baptists for the education requirement for ordination. Today, the Free Will Baptists also value education and a vocation. However, no other names, and many independent churches have no fundamental requirement of education - the call to preach is considered more important.
Furthermore, in some places, it is difficult to get highly educated pastors to go to churches in rural areas with small congregations (at least in part because the pay is negligible, and no matter the vocation, the pastor must eat, and many have become accustomed to living indoors). Thus, the names tend to train people with a vocation but no degree in theology or theology to be preachers and to meet the basic needs of a congregation of a pastor to lead them in worship, while the preacher keeps his job day to make life. In other cases, a specialist lay minister will take over some functions of pastor of a church for a temporary period.
Sorry for the long answer, but the question opens a can of worms complex.

The Catholic Church requires a college degree and special education in religion (seminar) to become a priest.
Many of the largest Protestant church (as the Methodist and Luthern) require the same. But other groups, like many of the smaller Baptist denominations do not. It varies with each in the name of the various Protestant churches. Because non-group, but dozens of small groups, each has a different requirement.

Not if one of them is not governed by the word of God and the Law, then all education in the sun do not mean a thing! Actually Jesus was especially ordinary people as his disciples, men who were not very educated. So which is an example of that education to our Heavenly Father is not important, their heart and their love for justice, meekness and several other important factors that God looks, and education does not appear, unless the proper spiritual education of her, of which the Lord approves!

  6. solarius says:

Not necessarily. I know that some Catholic priests very high level of education who have doctoral degrees from renowned universities, in addition to his training at the seminar. However, I can say the same for several Episcopal priests know. Besides, I know that several senior ministers of education unit. Often, it depends on the name in question. Some fundamentalist and other denominations do not put a strong emphasis (or in some cases, any emphasis) in university education, while many other denominations required at all and not order someone to the ministry without her.

  9. Gentle Spirit says:

Absolutely. Catholic Priest participate in the seminar from 6 to 8 years before becoming a priest. Pastors delcare prostestant can only do a pastor with no formal education. God bless …

No. Like a lot of religious things, that's just a misperception and ignorance that atheists have over men in black.

  12. HeMan says:

Maybe, but it could use more education on the laws against child abuse ….

  13. CJ says:

It's true. Catholic "priests" have tons of "educational" value doctrines and traditions of man.
A shepherd saved believes believing in the Bible as the final authority and only in Jesus alone for salvation, which means that the pastor is infinitely and eternaly ahead.
