You do not have to do something. If you want to be a Protestant, choose your favorite of the Protestant church (there are many to choose from) and to attend it. Or not. The price is right.

religion is only a building. A relationship with God is the only true way to obtain forgiveness. Church is a place of communion with others who have found their way to meet God. A good Bible-believing church is the place to be. God does not care what you call yourself while you are open to the biblical facts. Jesus is the Son of God died for your sins. Through his suffering on the cross can be saved. Jesus is the bridge from man to God. May God bless and hope to find a non-denominational church that teaches truth.

The conversion to another religion does not cost anything. You just found a religion that would suit better. Talk to a minister and find out what information you need. I hope nobody told you any costs to convert.

Unlike Catholicism or Judaism, which requires that people outside their religion to convert and take classes to be a part of their religion, Protestantism is completely different! If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then all you have to do is find a good church. The best way to choose is to read their mission statements (most of the churches have in their service bulletins or on their website). Good things to look for in a church based in the Bible: 1. They believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16 and Hebrews 4:12) 2. They believe in the Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son as Jesus and God the Holy Spirit). (Matthew 3:16-17 and Ephesians 2:18) 3. Believing that man is a sinner in their natural state and need God to have hope. (Romans 3:23) 4. Jesus died and had a bodily resurrection and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God. (Luke 24: 38-43 and 1 Corinthians 15:3-8) 5. Salvation is only through faith in Jesus Christ and not by works (Ephesians 2:6-10, Romans 5:1, Acts 3:19-20 and Titus 3:4-7). 6. Believe on the back visible, bodily second of Jesus to judge the world and take the Christians / (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and Revelation 1:7) 7. Church is the spiritual body of Christ. (Matthew 16:18 and Acts 20:28) 8. Heaven and Hell are real places that are eternal. (Luke 23:43, John 14:1-3 and Revelation 20:11-15) 9. Satan is a fallen angel who rules as "god of the world. (Luke 10: 17-20, Colossians 2:13-15 and Ephesians 6:10-18) 10. Water baptism and the Lord's Supper (Communion) are the ordinances of the church and must be practiced. (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-10 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-32). I know it's hard to find a Bible-believing church, but do not give up ... They are there. No church is perfect, but make sure they have sound doctrine. You spoke of following online ... here is a good site to see the church services on Sunday. www.streamingfaith.com God bless you.
