My fellow Christians, where the Bible says about other Sons of Mary?
I know she had other children of their own (apart from Jesus) because it says somehwere in the Bible, but the problem is that I forgot to tell me where where. Can? Book and step please:)
Note to Catholics —– —–
If you are offended by this question simply does not answer, because I know I belive she was a virgin forever (my sources and most other Christians religins belive otherwise) so please do not want to hear their complaints.
- Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus Christ. Why do Catholics say it is "always a virgin"
- Christians, Mary is the Mother of God?
- I have an honest question for Catholics and Bible believing Christians. . .
- So where in the Bible tells us that Mary A remained a virgin throughout her life?
- Fellow Catholics: During the Month of Mary (may )…?

Nowhere in the Bible that the Holy Mother of God had other children besides Jesus. In fact, it is impossible for this to be true because otherwise Jesus would not be the Messiah prophesied in Scripture. Here are the Scriptures and why they are often misunderstood by uneducated exegetes.
Luke 1:36 - Elizabeth is a relative of Mary. Some Bibles translate relative as "cousin", but this is an incorrect translation because in Hebrew and Aramaic, there is no word for "cousin".
Luke 22:32 - Jesus tells Peter to strengthen his brethren. In this case, we clearly see that Jesus' "brothers" to refer to the other apostles, not his biological siblings.
Acts 1:12-15 - the gathering of "brothers of Jesus" amounts to about 120. That's a lot of "brothers". Brother relatives means in Hebrew.
Acts 7:26, 11:1, 13:15,38, 15:3,23,32, 28:17,21 - these are some of the many other examples where "brethren" does not mean blood relations .
Rom. 9:3 - Paul uses "brethren" and "parents" interchangeably. "Brothers" of Jesus does not prove that Mary had other children.
Genesis 11:26-28 - Lot is the nephew of Abraham ( "anepsios") / Genesis 13:8, 14:14,16 - Lot is still called the brother of Abraham (adelphos "). This shows that although a Greek word cousin is "anepsios," Scripture also uses "adelphos" to describe a cousin.
Genesis 29:15 - Laban calls Jacob is "brother" even though Jacob is his nephew. Again, this shows that the brother of half-siblings or cousins.
Deut. 23:7, 1 Chronicles. 15:5-18, Jer. 34:9, Neh. 5:7 - "brethren" means relatives. Hebrew and Aramaic have no word for "cousin".
2 Sam. 1:26, 1 Kings 9:13, 20:32 - Here we see that "brethren" can even be one that is unrelated (no line of blood), as a friend.
2 Kings 10:13-14 - 42 Ahaziah of "brothers" were actually their relatives.
1 Chronicles. 23:21-22 - Eleazar's daughters married their "brethren" who were actually his cousins.
Neh. 4:14; 5:1,5,8,10,14 - these are more examples of "brothers" which means "cousins" or "relatives".
Tobit 5:11 - Azarias Tobias asks you to identify yourself and your people, but still calls him "brother."
Amos 1: 9 - brotherhood can also mean an ally (when no bloodline).
God bless!
In Christ

NOTE:
Seventh Day Adventist —
"Well Matthew 1:24-25 says Jose Maria knew, but only after Christ was born.
Joseph, waking from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took his wife, and did not know her till she brought forth her firstborn son ~ Matthew 1:24-25 "
You're misunderstanding these verses of reading something they do not say. The Scriptures that Joseph did not have sexual relations with the Holy Mother of God before the birth of Jesus. It says he had sex with her after Jesus was born as the Scriptures are using "until" to mark time. The fact is, for Joseph to have relations with the Mother of God is theologically impossible. Nobody could touch the Ark of the New Partnership and living.
Mary was a perpetual virgin, made 1.
The other Mary is mentioned is Mary, the Mother of God, but the relationship of Mary. Sometimes they are called children, but they are actually cousins and such. That is not said in the Bible, because it was common knowledge (then and now, if you do your research) and because the Bible is not a history book.
God Bless
This is highly controversial for one main reason - the Greek words for brothers and sisters can have both literal and figurative meanings. And no one can make the right decision is that in these cases. For example:
Luk 8:20 And he said [by some] said: Your mother and your brothers are outside and want to see.
Luk 8:21 And He answered and said unto them, My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God, and do it.
Does not really matter though, now does it?
2Cr 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know no man after the flesh: yes, although we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know that from now on [him] no more.
Mark 6:2-3 speaks of Jesus' brothers, James, Joses, Judas, Simone, and her sisters talking about here.
Also read Luke 2:7.
And for Catholics can check this information in the New Catholic Enc. Vol 9, p.337 that varifies that these scriptures refer to blood related brothers and sisters in Christ.
For the Catholic faith, I hope this book can make sure your mind what is the truth. If you do not know, can not be responsible, but once a person knows what is "truth" is you own decision.
It is written in the Bible. You have to study history. James wrote the book of James. He was half brother of Jesus. Jude wrote Jude. It was another half-brother. These are books in the Bible. Some Bibles have a preface before each book to tell about the author and the subject of the book to help you learn.
Yes it is. In Matthew and Mark.
Matthew 13:54-56
54Coming to his hometown, he began to teach people in the synagogue, and were astonished. "Where does this this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked. 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not the name of his mother Mary, and not his brothers James, Joses, Simon and Judas? 56Aren't all his sisters with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
Mark 6:2-4
2When Saturday arrived, he began teaching at the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. "Whence hath this man these things?" they asked. "What is this wisdom that has given that even does miracles! 3Isn't the carpenter? Is not this the son of Mary and brother of James, Joseph, [a] Judas and Simon? They are not his sisters here with us? "And they took offense at him. 4Jesus said, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and his own house is a prophet without honor."
Well Matthew 1:24-25 says Jose Maria knew, but only after Christ was born.
Joseph, waking from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took his wife, and did not know her till she brought forth her firstborn son ~ Matthew 1:24-25
Look @ charming response of exact strings. It is likely that these were half-brothers of Jesus, as it would be disrespectful if you were the firstborn of being reprimanded by his younger brothers.
Please consider:
Ez. 44:2 - Ezekiel prophesies that no man shall pass through the door that the Lord came into the world. This is a prophecy of the perpetual virginity of Mary. Mary remained a virgin before, during and after the birth of Jesus.http: / / http://www.scripturecatholic.com / blessed …

does not. as many people like to point out the original words often have different meanings. many have pointed out also means young virgin. and in the passages referring also meant cousins. cousins in the Middle East have grown up as brothers even today.
John 2:12 says, "After this came down to Capernaum with his brothers and his disciples, and stayed there a few days.
John 7:3 - "So his brothers said: Leave here and go to Judea that his disciples may see the works you are doing.
Acts 1:4 speaks of "Mary, Mother of Jesus and his brothers."
Mat 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? not his mother called Mary? And his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?
Mat 13:56 And his sisters are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
Well, as a Catholic, I will not tell, since only want to hear what they "want" to listen.
Matthew 13:55-56 They were sons of another Mary. Mary of Cleophas, not the Mother of Jesus
Post Note ************ *******
Marysia: That's not true. The words for "brother" and "premium" are quite different in Greek, as they are in English. both words are used in the Christian Greek Scriptures, showing its use and also the fact that the Bible writers knew how to use them.
***************
Looking for:
Mark 3:19-21, 31-35:
"And he went to a house. 20 Once again, the crowd, so they were unable even to eat a meal. 21 But when his family heard of him, came to seize him, said: "He left his mind." …
"Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. Outside, they sent someone to call. 32A crowd was sitting around him and said, "Your mother and brothers are outside looking. "
33 "Who are my mother and my brothers?" He asked. 34Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said: "These are my mother and my brothers! 35Whoever is God's will is my brother and sister and mother. " "(NIV)
These were clearly not his spiritual brothers, since Jesus corrected and told his listeners that they were. Nor were "Jewish brothers" because the writers of the Gospels of Matthew and Mark call Christians "brothers" after Jesus had taught them of Jesus were true siblings.
Matthew confirms in Matthew 12:46-50:
"While Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to talk to him. 47Someone said, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to talk to you. "[A]
48He replied, "Who is my mother and who are my brothers? 49Pointing his disciples, said:" These are my mother and my brothers. 50 for whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother. " "(NIV)
Matthew 13:54-57 them names.
"Coming to his hometown, he began to teach people in the synagogue, and were astonished." Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? "I ask. 55 "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not the name of his mother Mary, and are not his brothers James, Joses, Simon and Judas? 56Aren't all his sisters with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? "57And they took offense at him. But Jesus said: "Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor." (NIV)
Note that he was "in his hometown and in his own house." The neighbors knew the family.
Also, John 7:5 shows that he had sibling, saying:
"For even his own brothers did not believe in him." (NIV) Clearly, these were not (yet) his spiritual brothers.
(The New International Version or New International Version, is accepted by both Catholics and Protestants.)
Best regards,
Mike
This question does not offend me. It offers an opportunity to get into the Word of God and what the Bible really teach about this.
First, as Matthew 1:24-25 and "and did not know her till she brought forth her firstborn son" …
In our common usage, "until" has the connotation that something is a way to a certain point in time, and then changes. However, that is the problem, until it * has * to the connotation and implication, but the Greek word theos not. Heos refers only to the past, without consequences for the future. There are many other places in the New Testament, where we see this use. For example,
And the child [John the Baptist] continued to grow, and to become strong in spirit, and I have lived in the deserts until the day of his public appearance to Israel. (Lu 1:80) John did not leave the desert after his public appearance to Israel, I could hardly be a "voice crying out in the wilderness" if he had.
teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always until the end of the period. "(Matthew 28:20) Jesus will not leave us after that.
But He answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I'm working. " (Jn 5:17) Jesus and God did not stop working after that.
Till I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching. (1 Tim 4:13) Paul does not mean to Timothy to stop reading the Scriptures or the teaching or exhorting after Paul comes.
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now. (1 John 2:9) John did not want to say now that after a man who hates his brother is not suddenly in darkenss.
as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes to see and ears to hear, to this day." (Rom. 11:8) Paul is not telling us that "today" it is a turning point for this.
More to the point, the scenes we're talking about are Matthew (13:54-56 and Mark 6:2-4). Matthew says:
"Coming to his hometown, he began to teach people in the synagogue, and were astonished." Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? "I ask." Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not the name of his mother Mary, and are not his brothers James, Joses, Simon and Judas? Are not all his sisters with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? ""
The Greek word translated here as "brothers" is Adelphoi. Adelphoi has a broader meaning in Greek only brother. It can also mean cousin, relative or countryman. The Jewish culture of the time did not share our "nuclear" and "extended" family distinction. Cousins and other close relatives also had more closeness as brothers, were a condition that we associate with the nuclear family. "So Mary, Elizabeth Adelphe called" (Lk 1:36), although the age difference would make more than a little likely that she is a brother. Although Lot is the nephew of Abraham, who still calls his brother (Genesis 13:8, 14:14,16); Laban called his nephew to his brother Jacob (Genesis 29:15), and many other examples . Thus, the adelphoi of Jesus are more likely to be as cousins.
And the New Testament, specifically in reality tells us that a couple of those adelphoi * * are cousins. Paul tells us that James, the brother of the Lord "is one of the apostles (Galatians 1:19), and we know that there are only two apostles, James son of Zebedee (who was already dead by then), and son of Alphaeus or Cleopas (two diffferent versions of Halphai Aramaic) and Mary, the sister of Jesus' mother Mary (Matthew 10:3, Mark 3:18, Luke 6:16, Acts 1:13). We also know that Mary, the wife of Cleophas was also the mother of Joseph (Joseph) (Mark 15:40). And we know from the Epistle of Jude and Luke 6:16 and Acts 1:13 that Judas (also known as Thaddaeus (Matt. 10:3, Mk 3.18)), was the brother of James the Apostle.
Therefore, Jacob, Joseph, Judas and Simon we know from the New Testament that the first three were cousins, not brothers. It would be very unlikely that after the brother's name after the cousins, so it is reasonable to conclude that Simon was a cousin too. (2 º C. The writer and martyr Simon Hegesippus identified as the brother and successor as bishop of Jerusalem, of Santiago, but is out of it.) Given all this, not only the Bible does give us reason to believe that the aldelphoi of Jesus were his brothers, which specifically says that most of them are and does not imply that neither are the rest.
Therefore, if we base our understanding of the Greeks, and not in our English translation, and if you look at the whole New Testament and not just a scene, we see that Scripture tells us that Jesus adelphoi are his cousins and no siblings.
Also, Frankie, the Catholic Encyclopedia says there is no such thing. You can see the article on the "brethren of the Lord" online at http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02767a.h …
Oh, I will answer …… there is not.
Mary is ever virgin.
The perpetual virginity of Mary has always been reconciled with the biblical references to Christ's brethren through a proper understanding of the meaning of the term "brothers". The understanding that the brothers of the Lord were Jesus' stepbrothers (children of Joseph) rather than half-brothers (sons of Mary) was the most common at the time of Jerome (fourth century). It was Jerome who introduced the possibility that Christ's brethren were actually his cousins, cousins, since in Jewish language also referred to as "brothers". The Catholic Church allows the faithful to celebrate every point of view, since both are compatible with the reality of Mary's perpetual virginity.
Today most Protestants are unaware of these early beliefs about the virginity of Mary and the correct interpretation of "brothers of the Lord. Yet the Protestant Reformers themselves, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Ulrich Zwingli and consecrated the perpetual virginity of Mary and recognized as the teaching of the Bible, like other, more modern Protestants.
There were two apostles named James: James son of Zebedee,
and James, the son of Alpheus (Matthew 10:3, Mark 3:18, Luke 6:16, Acts 1:13).
Mary of Cleophas, or more correctly Cleophas (Klopas), the sister of Mary, Mother of Christ, is the same as Mary, the mother of James the Less and Joseph, or Joseph.
Cleophas and Alpheus are one person, even if the two names are very different. It is, however, very likely, and generally accepted, that Cleopas and Alphaeus are simply different transcripts of the same Aramaic word Halphai. James and Joseph "brothers" of the Lord are like the sons of Alpheus.
