Absolutely, unequivocally, idolatry. A grave sin '. Rationalize Catholics think when they call the practice "worship" - but the cult-worship is written anyway.

I totally agree with what he said about prayer to them to pray for you. I think its a yes.we are not praying to anyone other than Jesus. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus, hence to pray (in bold) Mary is the same as praying to any other idols you believe that Mary can link to God. and isn't that why we pray to Jesus because we believe there is power in his name? Therefore, the prayer to Mary is the belief that his state, his name will help you get to heaven their prayers for the grace to it that you want to make God to bless you? Does it really work that way? Jesus replied: "I am the way, truth and life. No one comes to the Father except through me. [John 14:6]

I do not think the prayer to Mary is the same as praying to an idol. Although I have been Wiccan since 1982, I was raised Catholic. Wiccans I know others have expressed their disagreement, but I can see Mary as a mother goddess and a goddess is the female aspect of the Divine Creator (God) - and then pray to Mary is not the same as praying to an idol.

To worship anything or anyone other than God is wrong. So "the prayer to Mary, in this sense is a mistake. But look up the word "pray". There are multiple meanings. One means "worship" other means "to ask" ... "Please tell me the time" (British English). When a reads "Catholic" Mary, that person is asking Mary to join them in prayer to God. This is the same as if I ask you to pray for me ... In this case, "you prayed to" pray to God for me and me. Do I worship you? Of course not. Who could say? Watch the dictionary: "pray" means "request", beg implorehttp: / / www.merriam-webster.com/dictionar ... Moreover, for Protestants, "" subject.
When Catholics - or someone - pray to Mary - who are simply asked to pass along their thoughts to God. She's like a friend - but she's dead - and I think she has a direct line to God so ask her - and ask him to let God know what you need / want. Many Protestants ask their friends to pray for them. This is no different - except Mary is dead and in heaven - and if you are of Christian faith - you believe in heaven. I do not believe in prayer for Christians and Catholics way. My prayer is called "spiritual mind treatment" - and that means not asking for anything - just means being thankful and use your brain to know that you have everything you need to achieve what you want. And yet - I'm so tired of thinking that Protestants, Catholics are doing something "wrong" when they pray to Mary. Namaste!

Wow. This is where Roman Catholics and Christians tend to separate. View Catholic prayers to Mary and the saints not to, for. IE so they can pray in his name that matters. (And envoking their trials as a prisoner of God) The Christian vision can be seen in any of the previous answers.

Hindus believe in praying to any form of divinity that suits you. A woman may feel more connected to Mary that Jesus or a man can feel more connected to a disciple of Jesus, which Jesus himself. Anyway, most of the Hindus offer prayers to the different forms of God, while still knowing the truth, God is not manifested. The real problem is if you believe that Mary was the divine form of God instead of God is the essence of love. That would be the real idoltry.

I think your question is flawed. Christians and Catholics pray to Jesus and Mary, very rarely to God. Through them, calling on God. In the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the lines is "Holy Mother of God." How, then Mary is seen as an idol? No room for ego in any religious faith.

Absolutely. Catholics also pray to the saints called. They use the holy water, how to be holy water? A man in a box can forgive their sins. They bow to the Pope, is treated as a deity. Even changed the 10 commandments. Remove the number 2. "None of the recorded images, and added a second on greed in the end. The Bible says that the only mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ.

Do you know that Catholics are Christians, too, right? Since Mary is a living, I live in heaven now with God and His Son, Jesus, how she is praying the same as praying to an idol? What does the Bible not to worship idols. Catholics do not worship Mary, we ask that you pray for us. You ask your friends and family to pray for you, right? So why is asking purest, the most blessed person who ever lived to pray for you too? People who say this are generally too simple to know the difference between praying to a person living in heaven compared to pray at a statue of her. Current company excepted, of course. Catholics know the difference between the person and the statue of the person. To clear this for Elegant and company, here are just a few scriptures that refer to the exalted status of Mary and her role as an advocate (someone to pray for you): Mt 1:20, Lk 1:28-30, Lk 1 : 42 - 43, Luke 1:48, Luke 2:19, Luke 2:35, John 2:5, John 19:27, Acts 1:14, Revelation 12:1. Swimmers: People who make a distinction between "Catholics" and "Christians", implying that Catholics are not Christians are just showing their own ignorance. Surely not want to appear ignorant to other people, right? They are implying that they do not know the difference between the word "Protestant" and "Christians." The definition of Christian is one who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. Catholics follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Since the Catholic Church was the first original church founded by Jesus himself, as the Protestants did not exist until 1500, it is safe to say they are Christians. :) Check the dictionary and / or free if you doubt that fact. You know what a dictionary or is Enclyclopedia, right? You can find them in the library if you do not have one at home. Prayer to Mary, since he is in heaven and not here on Earth, asking him to pray for you through your prayer is the only way to talk to her. The only difference is geographical: my friends are here on earth, so I ask you to pray for me. Mary is in heaven, so I ask you to pray for me through silent prayer. It is not really as complicated as protesters try to do that would be.
