Quick question about Catholics and Protestants?

I realize that Catholics pray to the Virgin Mary and other saints I believe, although I'm not sure, and pray for these advocates to "reach God, but Protestants pray directly to God (or through Jesus and the Holy Spirit)
as a Protestant "I'm getting too high for the right to pray to the Father? = /

    No.
Most Christians most of the time to pray directly to God.
Occasionally we ask others to pray for us.
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, Methodist and Church.
The Communion of Saints is the belief that all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When one dies and goes to heaven, do not go to this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my late grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II.
As part of this family, you can ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or you can ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to the saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
Ask others to pray for you if your loved ones on Earth or your loved ones in heaven is always optional.

Not at all, praying directly to God is good. As Catholics we use as emissaries of the Mother of Jesus, Holy Church believes that humans were sacred. Jesus is said to be one with the Father, no one comes to the Father without going through Jesus, because God and Jesus is the only entity. It is beyond our comprehension and it's all based on faith. So, either you have it. Nothing you say in my humble opinion is as important as the facts and actions speak louder than words. Actions demonstrate the true intentions and beliefs mirror, ideally, but we are all human and prone to errors of opinion, so the best you can! The mere fact that we pray to a power greater than us demonstrates the faith!

Well actually I'm not sure about all these things, but to pray …
Long ago there used to be just to Catholics and all peaseants were ruled by the church. The Catholic church would allow them to somehow pay their sins. So if a Catholic did something wrong, which would give money to the church and were then "guarantee" would not go to hell. A lot of people at that time did not like the idea. So that's when Martin Luther King (I always mix the names, but I think that's all) began the Protestant religion. Both religions areextremely close and similar. I think we have different kinds of Protestants, one of them is called Lutheran (your name)

  4. Sldgman says:

You are wrong in thinking that Catholics pray to Mary and the saints, in order to "reach God" and do not pray to God directly.
Catholics pray to Mary and the saints to ask them to pray for us to God. This is the same that is asking a friend or loved one to pray for you. Catholics believe Mary and the saints among our friends and loved ones.
Catholics also pray directly to the Father. The Lord's Prayer ( "Our Father which art in heaven") is a common prayer of Catholics.

  5. Marlboro Man says:

Yes God admires humility. It is much more humble to use an advocate (like Mary, our most powerful intercessor) instead of speaking directly with God. You may want to read "True Devotion to Mary" by St. Louis Marie Grignon de Montfort (the book is published online). He explains in detail.
There is a link to it in the bottom of this page: http://www.newjerusalem.com/Secret-of-Ma

  6. Misty says:

Catholics pray directly to God as well. Only occasionally, asking Mary or the Saints to add their prayers to ours. Do not think we have to go through them to God, just think they are one with us in the body of Christ and therefore pray for us.
Not a thing or situation but a both / y.

  7. Rosemary L says:

No, when Jesus died the temple veil was torn from top to bottom. His death eliminated the idea that we had to go through a priest. Jesus said he was the Way, the Truth and the Life. He made the way for us to pray to the Father.

  8. t_d_f says:

Read Matthew 23:9 …. God came to earth as man, Jesus …. We do NOT have to go thought another man (Priest, Pope, ect ..) to get to our Father in Heaven. As a Protestant, who is doing exactly what the Bible says to do.

  9. Poohcat1 says:

The Bible gives us the perfect prayer … Jesus himself prayed for. They say …. Our Father which art in heaven. There are many other examples, both in the New Testament age and prayers and even one of them passes through that particular person …. another human being.

  10. Gina (SOC - Soldier of Christ ) says:

We do not need an advocate, but the Lord Jesus. To think otherwise is man made tradition. There are many Scriptures that tell us that Jesus is all we need. Blessings to you, my friend.

  11. simplyai says:

No! It's what to do! The Bible says to go directly to the father, and since no one before him or pray to other gods!

  12. ethereal spirit says:

We can pray directly to the Father through Christ's death.

  13. older says:

says in the Bible, to pray to anyone but God

  14. Sanctim onious says:

No! It's what to do! The Bible says to go directly to the parent
Then you had better get rid of these scriptures then ..
Yup Catholics who pray to the biblical Mary and not only Mary, but the Saints for their sessions.
And yes its very biblical to say that his may be one mediator between God and man is right.
But what does the sentence about interseceroy.
Because he is the only God-man and Mediator of the New Covenant, Jesus is the only mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5), but this does not mean you can not or should not ask our fellow Christians to pray with us and for us (1 Tim. 2:1-4). In particular, we ask the intercession of Christians in heaven who had already completed his sanctification, because "[t] he prayer of the righteous is powerful in its effects" (James 5:16).
Not only praying heaven with us, also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, we read: "[an] angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar before the throne , and the smoke of incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God "(Revelation 8:3-4).
Thus in Psalm 103 we pray, "Bless the Lord, you his angels, that the powerful who do his word, listening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will "(Psalm 103:20-21). And in the first verses of Psalm 148 we pray, "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord of the heavens, praise him in the highest! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his army! "
Jesus himself warned us not to offend young children because their guardian angels have guaranteed intercessory access to the Father: "See that you despise not one of these little, because I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven "(Matthew 18:10).
"But the high priest [Christ] alone prays for those who pray sincerely, but also of the angels … As the souls of the saints who have slept
      Rom 6:3-4
Or are you aware that we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? If we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life.
      Col 2:12
You were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.
Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To this end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all saints, saints, and to me, that utterance may be given at the opening of the mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the gospel, which I am a ambassador in chains, which can declare boldly, as I speak "(Ephesians 6:18-20).
Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.       "First, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all men, kings and all those in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and come to know the truth "(1 Timothy 2:1-4).
But the Bible says Jesus is the only mediator between God and man?
A: Yes, yes, in 1 Timothy 2:5 ( "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"), but just quoted the four verses immediately preceding this one, and they recall that Paul said, "I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all men."
So the fact that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man does not prevent other people to act as intercessors. And we know that intercessory prayer certainly not to offend God, in the same passage quoted above, Paul tells us: "This is good, and pleases God our Savior
Sometimes I was surprised how people can jump up and down what Paul says in 1 Timothy 2:5 and still lose the subject of intercessory prayer, not only is the theme of the last four verses, but the segue into the discussion of unique mediation of Jesus.
For example, consider the following verses and concern shown by the sky that what happens on earth:
"Then one of the couples [who represent the hierarchy of the people of God in heaven] addressed me, saying," Who are these, clothed in white robes and whence came they? I told him: "Lord, you know. And he said: 'These are they which came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb "(Revelation 7:13-14).
      "
And they [the elders] sang a new song, saying Thou art worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, for thou wast slain, and with your blood did ransom men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and hast made a kingdom and priests to our God, and reign on earth "(Revelation 5:9-10).
"The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, this tells us that these are the voices of humans, and He shall reign forever and ever "(Revelation
11:15). "And the elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying," Thank you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, you have taken your great power and has begun to reign. The nations lasted, but your wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, for rewarding your servants the prophets and saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth "(Revelation 11:16-18).
"I heard a voice in heaven, saying," Now the salvation, power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, this indicates that it is a human voice has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, and that love their lives unto death. rejoice, O heavens, and that inhabit it! But woe to you, oh earth and sea because the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows his time is short! "(Revelation 12:10-12).
After this I heard what appeared to be the voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for His judgments are true and righteous has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants. Once
How do you know that the saints in heaven are praying for us
"And Onias spoke, saying, 'This is a man who loves the brethren and prays much for the people and the holy city, Jeremiah, the prophet of God" (2 Maccabees 15:14).
The same verse quoted above. Needless to say, for example, that our guardian angels are aware of what we are doing. It's your job to protect us, after all, so we can be sure that we know what we're doing, and when we are asking them to pray for us.
And in the same way, when we read of the saints in heaven offering our prayers to God in the form of incense (Revelation 5:8, 8:3-4), we know that they are aware of our prayers.
Remember: Most of the saints do not have physical bodies at this time. They also have no cards of the prayer request physical or natural incense or something. This means that when painting as presenting God with our prayers, which are not physically present in our prayers, so they must be mentally submission to him. But if they are mentally present our prayers to God, then they should be aware of our prayers.
They are in heaven pray for us
Not only praying heaven with us, also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, we read: "[an] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer, and was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God "(Revelation 8:3-4).
Fundamentalists often challenge the Catholic practice of asking the saints and angels to pray on our behalf. But the Bible leads us to invoke those in heaven and ask them to pray with us.
Does the invocation of the Bible in heaven to those who pray for us
Thus in Psalm 103 we pray, "Bless the Lord, you his angels, that the powerful who do his word, listening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will "(Psalm 103:20-21). And in the first verses of Psalm 148 we pray, "Praise the Lord!
