<<What do you think of Roman Catholics?>>
      I think they're great!
      <saved, <area that are christian?>>
Well, we certainly Christians, but that is saved is an issue that everyone must face. I think I am …
      <<do love mary?>>
      No, we do not.
<<do believe that you have to have good works to enter heaven>>
No, do not believe that you can buy your way into heaven or if works are done rather than bad actions can not. But good deeds are important in the justification of our faith (James).
Here's a simplified way we look:
      We are saved by grace.
      We live by our faith.
      We are justified by works.

  2. BibleCho says:

    1) were saved
      Some are.
      2) are Christians?
      Yes
      3) to Mary, the adoration?
They are forbidden to do so, though he has done in some areas by small groups.
      4) Do you think you have to have good works to enter heaven
      Welllllll …. yes, except ….
Catholics believe in the validity of a deathbed confession. SO, Roman Catholics believe that someone can go to heaven even though they have not had the opportunity (since becoming a Christian) to do any good works.
Of course, almost no one who has attained the age that can walk you can say that have never performed a good deed. Even worst villains of the world live their whole lives without doing good works.

Catholics are born again Christians on the path to salvation. We are justified and sanctified by our Lord and Savior. Our hope of salvation in Christ if we persevere to the end and ultimate salvation. We call ourselves saved as it would be committing the sin of presumption.
We are the original Christians were Christians only for 1500 years until the Protestant rebellion against the Church of Christ.
Catholics are forbidden to worship anyone or anything but God. To do otherwise would be idolatry. This is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says about idolatry:
      Idolatry
2112 The first commandment condemns polytheism. It requires man neither to believe, not worship other gods than the one true God. Scripture constantly recalls this rejection of "idols, [of] silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths, but do not speak, eyes but not see. "These empty idols make their worshipers empty:" Those who make them are like them, as are all who trust in them. "42 However, God is the "living God" 43 who gives life and intervenes in history.
2113 Idolatry not only refers to false pagan worship. It's a constant temptation to faith. It consists of deify what is not God. Man commits idolatry whenever honors and reveres a creature in place of God, whether gods or demons (for example, satanism), power, pleasure, race, ancestry, status, money, etc. Jesus says, "You can not serve God and mammon. "44 Many martyrs died for not adoring" the Beast "45 refusing even to simulate such worship. Idolatry rejects the unique Lordship of God and therefore incompatible with communion with God.46
2114 Human life finds its unity in the worship of one God. The commandment to worship the Lord alone integrates man and saves him from an endless disintegration. Idolatry is a perversion of the religious sense innate in man. An idolater is someone who "transfers his indestructible notion of God to anything other than God." 47
The Catholic Church teaches that we are saved by grace through faith, and that no one is saved by works that would be the heresy of Pelagianism is condemned by the Church.
      God bless!
      In Christ

<< "What do you think of Roman Catholics?">>
They are great people! Some of the brightest minds in the world are non-Catholic Christians!
      << "have been saved?">>
Nobody has "saved". Calling someone "saved" means that you are judging his soul, the soul and the trial is a right that belongs to God and God alone. Nobody in the world can tell where you go to death, no matter how "some" feel.
This also implies a belief in the doctrine of once saved always saved, that is heresy. Spiritual journey No one is ever "complete" and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior is not only a step on the road.
      << "are Christians?">>
Catholicism is the largest faith of Christianity. In fact, the early Christian church, from which all other faiths drift. Only after Martin Luther led his band of rebels to break with the Church of Christ in 1500 (the Protestant rebellion) did more than a branch of Christianity there. Since then, the Protestant denomination has further divided the 38,000 + (yes, 38 mil) churches that we see today, all of whom claim to be the only church that correctly interpret the Word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit.
<< "is what the cult of Mary?">>
Catholics do not worship Mary and the saints. Why do we Catholics go around telling people that if you really worship Mary?
The sentence is quite different from worship. We communicate with our brothers and sisters who have died and are saved in heaven through prayer. Like you can ask your friend or relative to pray for their welfare, we ask the saints to pray to God with us, for our welfare. There is nothing wrong with that, and should not be confused with worship. One can not accuse the Catholics and is based on their own assumptions! The only difference is that your friend is here on Earth, so communicating with him / her through speech. Our dead brothers are in heaven, so we communicate with them through prayer.
Worship is NOT about physical manifestations exhibited during the process - it is about your way of thinking about who is being worshiped. If we are mentally venerate someone (a saint) that the experiences of life, God is able to be a good example of what we are doing just that. However, you can not go around saying different only because of what we think we're doing! Are you saying that you are a higher authority than the thoughts in my head that I?
I can not do the next most important point: Catholics do not worship anyone or anything other than the one true God who exists in the form of the Holy Trinity. While certainly a great honor given to Mary and the saints, this should not be confused with worship.
To clear up this misunderstanding, consider this scenario: What do you do during the national anthem? All Americans are encouraged to walk in front of the flag, remove their hat, put his hand to his heart and recite the words being sung. However, this is certainly not the cult, right? You are simply giving honor to his country, and thousands and thousands of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their descendants.
This is more or less the same as Catholics to saints and Mary. We do not worship them because they're not a god, but we give them the honor they deserve for taking great length about his beliefs and the improvement and promotion of their faith. Many of the Saints made the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, to maintain their Catholic beliefs true Christian in their hearts. Certainly, the least we can pay them with the honor.
<< "Do you think you have to have good works to enter heaven?">>
Salvation is not by "works alone".
Salvation is not by "faith alone".
Salvation comes through God's saving grace.

  5. Daver says:

<<What do you think of Catholics? Are they saved, they are Christians?>>
They are saved because they are Christians.
      <<do love mary?>>
      No.
<<do believe that you have to have good deeds to enter heaven …………………>>
Good Works in sanctifying grace necessary for salvation.
      <plz thanks <your opinion you>>
What's so important about people's opinions?
      God's truth is what matters.

  6. orchidmg says:

not automatically saved. It is not by faith alone that saves itself.
we are the first Christians that Jesus established with the apostles.
We do not worship Mary or the saints in heaven. We just ask them to pray for us. Like I can pray for you.
It is only by good works to get him into heaven either.

  7. Mom of three A.R.T. says:

What do you think of Catholics? * I think they're great! *
Are they saved * yes *
Christians? * Well of course we are, we believe in Christ *
is what the cult of Mary? * No, we honor Mary as the Mother of Our Savior Jesus Christ *
Do you think you have to have good works to enter heaven * Good works? Like the Beatitudes that Jesus established. Of course, if not why we are told to feed the poor and care of patients .*
Please do not listen to people who bash Catholics, because it will give misinformation and ignorance show. If you ask the Catholic truth. Have a nice day!

  8. imacatho says:

I think that Catholics are some of the best people, but then I am probably a bit biased.
Most-Catholic Christian denominations accept Catholics as Christians. A few do not.
The World Council of Churches, which brings together more than 340 churches, denominations and church fellowships in over 100 countries and territories around the world, representing some 550 million Christians accept the 1.1 billion Catholics and Christians . http://wcc-coe.org/wcc/who/faq-e.html # 07
A dictionary would say that a Christian is someone who professes faith in Jesus as Christ or the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
      Catholics fit this definition.
In the Nicene Creed of 325 AD, the Catholics profess:
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, only Son of God, born of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered, died and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
And will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will never end.
Accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We are baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."
Truly, we are spiritually "born again", just not often use those words.
For a full description of what Catholics believe, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/inde
      With love in Christ.

  9. Joel the Catholic Seminarian says:

Just I worship the Trinity. I am saved through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. He died for me and for all. Do I give a place of honor to Mary, Mother of God made flesh? Yes
Do we believe that good deeds must accompany faith? Yes, but this is what the Bible says.
"" Why call me 'Lord, Lord, and not what I mean? "(Luke 6:46).
"To give to each according to his deeds …" (Romans 2:6-8).
"For not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God but the doers of the law shall be justified" (Romans 2:13).
** "For if we sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no longer remains a sacrifice for sins but a fearful prospect of judicial decisions … (Hebrews 10:26-27).
This is important. We are told that if we sin on purpose and is not the sacrifice Jesus made for us. It is not because their sacrifice was not good enough is because human beings are not good enough for Christ. We therefore confession "As the Father has sent me, so I send you …. Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins they are forgiven, if you retain the sins, they are retained "(John 20:21-23).
"What good, my brothers, if a man says he has faith but has no deeds? Can faith save him? "(James 2:14).
"So also faith without works is dead" (James 2:17).
"But someone will say," You have faith and I have works. "Show me thy faith without thy works, and I by my works will show thee my faith …. You want to be shown, that silly fellow, that faith without works is useless? (James 2:18-20).
"You see that man is justified by works and not by faith only" (James 2:24).
But when it comes to this, no amount of good works is good enough to get into heaven. Just for the passion, death and resurrection of Christ, I get to go to heaven. So am I "saved" Well, nobody is. Do I have a shot at the sky, because I believe in Christ and try to live my life as he wanted? Yes! I have the same shot that everyone else believes and knows that Christ is their Savior.

  10. Denis C says:

Those who believe in Christ are Christians … .. period.
forgive me for saying this, but "there are some extremists in Christianity, and, judging by some of these responses is what is here.
Do not they realize what nonsense lessons that are instilled in them by their leaders.
Repeat any person who believes and follows Jesus are Christians.
We all share the same planet … we all share the same God.

      We do not worship Mary.
Not necessarily, but we believe that reduces the time required to stay in purgatory.

  16. SpiritRo says:

    We are saved by grace.
      We live by our faith.
      We are justified by works.

      I am a Roman Catholic.

  20. Karenita EWTN ((Allecat)) says:

I agree with Mr. Owl PhD.

  21. Miss Browser says:

I think we do some things that go against Christianity, two things I pray to the saints (that we should pray to God alone) and the sacraments which are things to do for one to be saved (all we have to do is to accept Christ as Savior, have faith / belief in it). Oh, and I think I worship, or at least pray to Mary, we worship and pray to God only.
Therefore, I do not think they are true Christians or saved, but are a little Christians, however.

  22. veitedl says:

I can not say not saved and are not Christians. My boyfriend was raised in the Catholic Church, was baptized and confirmed. Now it has asked nad Baptist Christ as their savior. He also grew up in the Catholic church, and now I am saved and a member of a Baptist Church. My uncle was raised in the Catholic Church, confirmed and baptized will be saved only a few days before his death last Saturday. My grandmother was raised in a Methodist church, converted to Catholicism, was baptized and confirmed, and was saved only weeks before he died last May.
It's not a question of naming. It is a matter of religion. Christianity is faith and faith in Christ as Savior. A Catholic, if they've called in Christ are Christians and saved. However, the Bible, the Catholic Church has many practices and false doctrines. Mary was the mother of Christ on earth. We are to worship or pray to her. The Catholic Church has priests as mediators between God and man. "For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus." (I Timothy 2:5). We can not use a priest or any other person to answer our prayers and forgives our sins. We pray to God and pray in the name of Jesus. That's the only way. We will not have false gods before God. Praying to the saints and Mary is set equal to God, who is breaking the Ten Commandments, the Commandment # 1.
I think that a Catholic can be saved and be a Christian, but are not entitled to practice and worship. The Catholic Church does not follow the commandments of God and the truth of the Bible. If someone is Catholic and believes he can get to heaven by doing good works alone, they are wrong.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith and this not from yourselves it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God beforehand that we should walk in them. " (Ephesians 2:8-10)
      (Matthew 10:32,33)
"Whoever acknowledges me before men, him will I confess also before my Father in heaven. (33) But whoever denies Me before men, him will I also deny before my Father in heaven. "
Good works do not understand the sky. The faith and trust in Christ for salvation do.
      (Matthew 20:28)
"As the Son of man came not to be served but to serve and give His life a ransom for many."

  23. David says:

Catholicism is not Christian. Catholicism teaches a false gospel of works that leads to eternal torment in hell (Galatians 1:6-9).
It is clear in the Book of Acts in the Bible that Catholics did not even exist during the days of Acts. Those in the book of Acts are the first Christians, who believed that what is called a fundamentalist doctrine today. Anyone can read the book of Acts and see for themselves. Catholicism had existed during the time of Acts, the early Christians have been totally rejected Catholicism.
Also here are Christians called the "pope" the Antichrist, and also totally rejects Catholicism, long before Martin Luther even born:
      c. 1310
      Dante Alighieri
      c. 1331
      Michael of Cesena
      c. 1345
      Johannes de Rupescissa
      c. 1350
      Francesco Petrarca
      c. 1367
      John Milicz
      c. 1379
      John Wycliffe
      c. 1388
      Matthias of Janow
      c. 1389
      R. Wimbledon
      c. 1390
      John Purvey
      c. 1393
      Walter Brute
      c. 1412
      John Hus
      c. 1497
      Girolamo Savonarola
So not only is wrong to say that "Catholics were the first Christians", but this list blows away from the Catholic assertion that "there were no other churches in the Catholic Church, until Martin Luther."
He had always kept the believers out of the Catholic religion, who knew Catholicism can not save anyone.
Catholicism can not save. Only by believing in Jesus alone for salvation, is what saves.
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to save and enter heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross as payment COMPLETE all our sins, then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you will be in heaven, no matter what! Salvation is a free gift that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, 1 John 5:13).
Please pray now: "Jesus, please forgive my sins. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Thank you for eternal life! "You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)
